The NFJC has a fantastic staff and an incredible board. Everyone on their team has the kindest hearts and works extremely hard to improve our community. Special shout out to Marc, who taught me about diversity, equity, and inclusion through youth activities.
So proud of the work and impact of the National Federation for Just Communities of WNY!!
I am proud to be part of the NFJC family because of the work our organization does to make WNY a better community for all. We are dedicated to overcoming racism, bias and discrimination by building understanding, respect and trust through education, advocacy and community involvement, during a time it is all very needed, not just in WNY, but across the world. Our youth participants especially have an opportunity to impact the world through their future endeavors and leadership roles - where ever their dreams take them. Our programs change lives and communities - we make a more inclusive and equitably community.
The NFJCWNY is the most trusted organization in the Western New York region offering education, programs, and training in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. From corporate training to educational events, opportunities, and programs that target PK-12 and college aged students, the NFJCWNY is the go-to source for support and valuable tools that make a difference.
The NFJCWNY indeed lives up to its mission of a human relations organization dedicated to overcoming racism, bias and discrimination by building understanding, respect and trust through education, advocacy and community involvement.
The NFJC is an organization with a passion to drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
NFJC works closely within the community (organizations and schools), to dive this message thru training and engagement.
At this time, NFJC is a critical organization for Western NY and throughout the country.
The NFJCWNY has for 70 years been a leader in the efforts to make Western New York a more fair, equitable and inclusive community. From their youth leadership conferences, to coordinating racial healing circles, to their work with other organizations, the NFJCWNY continues to strive to make a difference. Those in the community who have made significant contributions are recognized at the presentation of The Community Heroes Awards and at The Citation Banquet Awards. I first became aware of the NFJCWNY quite a few years ago when I received one of their recognition awards. Recognizing the importance of the work that they do, I have been involved on some level with the organization since that time. I am now proud to serve as the Board President, and I couldn't think of an organization whose mission is important at this critical time in our country. We are indeed better for having their presence in our community.
I've had the good fortune to have been involved with NFJC WNY for many years, both as a community member and also as a board member. The number of matters that the NFJC WNY has been involved in are innumerable but two things stand out to me. There was a controversy in our community regarding the nickname use by a local school that was considered by some to denigrate a segment of our population. The staff at the NFJCWNY worked tirelessly to provide a forum and facilate education and communication among all involved in an attempt to help resolve what was a very divisive issue. Another NFJCWNY initiative that speaks to the workk of the organization is it's annual Dash for Diversity where community individuals of all ages come together to show their commitment to building a diverse community by participating in a run/walk event that definity helps to build unity in our community. Each year I enjoy having my very young grandchildren be a part of this event, not only for the many fun activities, but hopefully to also help them see the very good things that can be achieved when we work together to be inclusive community that cares about each other.
Thank you for your continued leadership and support as we all continue to make WNY a more just and inclusive community for all!
I am so honored to be a board member of this amazing organization that continues to bridge the gap and provide resources beyond racial, religious, and economic backgrounds.
The amazing work done through the NFJC continues to be the catalyst in Western New York for meaningful conversation.
This organization is a leader in our community and is the go-to for support, training and information on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have been a proud board member for several years and the NFJC just gets better and better at confronting the issues that divide us and working to build a just and united community.
This is one of the best boards I've served on because of the great dedication of the staff, board, youth and other participants in the programs and events that work to build community by bringing diverse people in our community together. Engaging folks in deep and meaningful discussions about how we can ensure equity and make sure that everyone in our region has the opportunity to thrive, and then working together to make that happen is what NFJC is all about. I am honored to serve on this board and to sometimes facilitate sessions alongside the devoted staff.
I've been working with the NFJC as an intern for about 5 months now and I can confidently say it's been a great learning experience! Everyone at the NFJC works so hard to accomplish their goals and I think they are putting their efforts to something great.
NFJC is at the forefront of serving its constituents within the nonprofit world. Training its clients to understand DEI concepts and building community through inclusion are just a couple of the key takeaways from the services they offer both virtually and in-person. Go visit NFJCWNY.org for more information!
NFJC is is an outstanding organization committed to building bridges across social divides, affecting systemic change, and making WNY a truly inclusive and just community.
Having worked at the National Federation for Just Communities of WNY for over fourteen years I have seen first hand the value of the programs they offer. Continuing on a successful seventy year history the NFJC has strived to bring people of different backgrounds together with the hope of building stronger communities through advocacy and education. The NFJC offers Youth Programs, (of which my son has not only been a participant but a facilitator), Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Sessions and a myriad of collaborative programs with other organizations. I highly recommend the Multi-Faith Thanksgiving Service or the MLK Program as an easy way to start your involvement with the NFJC and all it has to offer.
Marc and company provided very meaningful and relevant information for the Niagara Wheatfield Central- Instructional staffers on opening day. They were thorough and professional and we look forward to continuing the partnership moving ahead!
I have enjoyed participating in the NFJC Dash for Diversity. All three of our children participated in the activities, games and running. It was well organized and provided family friendly, community experience.
The NFJC has changed and enhanced my life. The mission of this important organization meets the needs of our community in such an important and meaningful way. I am very proud to be part of the very talented and committed staff team, and devoted Board.
I am a proud member of the diverse board of the NFJC. The work of the NFJC is truly needed and is a valuable component of our WNY community. May we continue to do work for those in need. Please show your support for the good works of the NFJC!
NFJC WNY is a wonderful organization doing important work in our community!!
I am a Board Member of this organization, and am so proud of the work that we do. To say that the NFJC enriches the community is an understatement-the mission, which focuses broadly on overcoming racism, bias and discrimiation- is accomplished through thoughtful, focused programs designed to get the community talking and working together to build a better Buffalo.
As a Board member of the NFJCWNY, I am proud to serve for an organization that is making a positive impact on the communities of Buffalo and Western New York.
Through education, advocacy, conflict resolution, programming, special events, discussions, and collaborations with local organizations and institutions, the NFJCWNY is working to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion, and address racism, bias, and discrimination.
The NFJCWNY truly promotes understanding and respect among people of all races, religions, and cultures through thought provoking and interactive means. Whether it is working with school aged children, to teens, young adults, and various members of our community, the NFJCWNY delivers powerful messaging and interactive programing that will help citizens understand and overcome racism, bias, and discrimination.
Very fortunate to be involved with an organization that is truly committed to our community . Promoting respect and understanding of all races, religions and cultures and bringing communities together through advocacy, education and community involvement..
As the official event photographer for the NFJC I've seen first hand the good the organization has done for the WNY community. From it's many programs that help young people to it's recognition of the unsung heroes in the community who are working to make WNY a better place to live, the NFJC is an invaluable resource.
I have been involved with the NFJC for over 5 years--attending their annual walk and banquet, as well as the various intercultural services and workshops. In my experience, the staff members have been down to earth, personable and committed to issues surrounding diversity and inclusion. Situated in downtown Buffalo, the NFJC responds well to the sociopolitical climate of the given moment and is committed to programing which is tailored to the city's needs. I look forward to continuing my relationship with the NFJC in the future.
NFJC of Western NY continues to make a powerful impact in our community. Working with individual leaders, youth, schools, organizations, and city officials-this small organization has a tremendous influence. The messages, lessons, and programs are invaluable. I am impressed by the dedicated staff, strong board, and amazing students that are affiliated with the NFJC. I work for a school and many students that have gone to the community build and leadership programs come out meeting new friends, discussing difficult topics (such as diversity, neighborhood economics, violence, and gender), as well as stronger leaders. Their experiences do not end after one weekend, they often stay involved and become "lifers" by supporting an organization that makes a difference in their lives.
The NFJC of WNY promotes inclusion and acceptance in the WNY area. The work they do is vital and necessary to educate our population on the positive impact that diversity has on our communities. The outreach that the NFJC of WNY has to our youth is necessary to have our children grow into leaders who promote diversity and inclusion. We are all stronger when we work together, regardless of ethnicity or religion. It is important that we support this non-profit because it is doing work that nobody else is doing.
The NFJC of WNY provides much needed programs to area youth leaders with their Community Build retreats, Community Builders and Sheriff/Youth Live-In Camp. They provide multiple opportunities for local high school students to engage in service activities.
I too am a board member. I have developmental disability. I appreciate the fact that the NFJC includes all people of all faiths and backgrounds. It is my honor and privilege to be a part of a social justice organization that believes all people matter and should be treated as human beings. No matter issues that they might have or backgrounds. Thank you very much for letting me be a voice of those who are sometimes told to be silent. I look forward to a long and prosperous future. With this organization. Thank you very much on behalf of all those with disabilities
The NFJC of WNY supports those who stand up for inclusion and tolerance, and calls out those who breed ignorance and intolerance. Sadly, their mission is more relevant and their work more critical than ever.
NFJC is a great organization with great staff! I've worked with them first-hand at fundraising events, and they are truly wonderful individuals. The mission of the NFJC is worthwhile and very important to the Western New York community!
NFJC is a great organization that does very important work!
The NFJC is an organization that in my years of human services, have been a vital resource in education, advocacy, and social acceptance regardless of race, gender, ability, or faith. They are a leaders in Community Relations and building bridges to understanding through social dialogues.
Over my four years of involvement with the NFJC I have raised my awareness of the issues in the WNY community with respect to tolerance and inclusion as well as how I can have a positive influence on my neighbors. The greatest impact has been with my family -- as a result of taking the opportunity to invite them to a variety of NFJC events perceptions of ethnic and racially diverse individuals has changed for the better.
