I have been associated with TML for seven years. I started out as a volunteer, then quickly became a coach. Today I coach and sponsor a team and serve as a game announcer. My experience with TML has been nothing short of transformational. It has not only changed me, but given me the opportunity to bring others into the fold as volunteers, allowing their lives to be immensely touched by the players, coaches, and league staff. You go the TML thinking that you are serving the kids, but in actuality, they are serving you with unconditional love and joy that we seldom get to experience in the busyness of our day-to-day lives.
Miracle League of the Triangle not only offers fun for it's players, but it's volunteers as well. Miracle League provides a place for children and adults with and without disabilities to come together to have fun and PLAY BALL! I have been a coach for a few seasons now, and i have been a buddy for many seasons and one thing i have learned is that it's not really just the volunteers who are changing the lives of the players, but it's also the players changing the lives of the volunteers. These players put a smile on my face because with every chance they get on that field they are proving someone wrong, someone who counted them out and said "you cant play baseball because ____". And that makes me so happy, the fact that everyone gets to come together and just have fun playing to the best of their abilities. At Miracle League we get to celebrate abilities. By volunteering with Miracle League of the Triangle, whether you are a coach, a buddy, an announcer, or an umpire you will leave the field with a smile from ear to ear. It truly is an amazing experience that i wouldn't trade for the world .
