Learningtech.org has been supporting our E-Rate efforts since our school opened in 2017.
We keep getting the funding! The team is very responsive, super knowledgeable about the field, and patient with me as we navigate all of the technical details of the E-rate program that as a layperson I don't understand. Thank you Learningtech!
Don't know what we'd do without Learningtech.org. So glad to have experts on our side who understand this byzantine world and can handle all of the filings!
I've absolutely loved working with the entire LearningTeach team. We are a brand new school, so there's been a huge learning curve to learning eRate and the technical side of things, as well as worry whether or not to bring in an eRate consultant, however after a year of working with them - we do not regret it at all. Their support has been phenomenal, clearly walking through all the pieces, and being on call and email to respond to anything new that comes up. They also work hard to teach and explain things, to help me learn and help breakdown the technical expertise. I'm just so impressed with them and truly feel like I reach out to a support system rather than a company. They've truly had our best interest at heart.
Learningtech has been a great partner for years. They have made the Erate process easy and they are great to work with. -District 49
I have known and collaborated with Mark and his team since the mid-1990's through my work as a board member of a start-up charter high school, director of an experiential learning program serving 800 high school students and most recently, as Co-Founder of a non-profit education program serving youth in Africa. Mark has been an amazing partner, resource, offered invaluable advice and without question, brings his vast knowledge, experience, and heart to his work to develop education initiatives for youth, coach start up ventures while leveraging his network and to support educators and education programs across the spectrum.
Learningtech.org helped us obtain over $350K in Emergency Connectivity Fund support for our organization.
As a Technology Consultant for various school districts, I have worked with different E-Rate Consultants. I have seen the services that each one provides and LearningTech is by far the best that there is out there. They go above and beyond what they do for their schools. They are diligent in their work and make sure that the School understands the process. LearningTech will always follow up with anything pending or any questions that the School may have with the FCC (E-Rate Program) and get back to the schools right away. LearningTech will always make sure that the school is in full compliance of the E-Rate Program and will make sure that the process is done according to all regulations. I have seen all their work first hand and I recommend all the School Districts that I work with to use LearningTech as their E-Rate Consultants. Every school District who I have worked with over the last 15 years has switched to LearningTech and to this day they still work with them and are extremely happy with all the services that LearningTech provides. I know that the schools are in good hands when they are with LearningTech.

Kimberly and Tom are both exceptional. Their ability to guide us through the entire EPC process is worth every penny. They possess a wealth of knowledge about the process and are always cheerful and quick to respond.
"We partnered with The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology and had a truly exceptional experience! Their programs blend innovative technology with effective learning strategies, making complex topics accessible and engaging. Wynndalco Enterprises left with a solid understanding of their vision and practical skills. Highly recommended and appreciated for their professionalism in tech-driven education!"
I've collaborate and worked with the Millers for over 10 years. They bring the very best to the team every single time. The wealth of knowledge that is contained within their organization is unfathomable. They aren't afraid to do the heavy lifting or do all of the research necessary for the success of whatever it is they are undertaking. I can honestly say that they are the most humble and kindest people and I would consider it an honor to work by their side again.

It’s been an honor and a privilege to work along side such knowledgeable and down to earth people.
Working with Learningtech.org for nearly a decade at Growth Public School in Sacramento has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Their commitment to enhancing our educational environment through technology is evident in the innovative solutions and resources they provide. From implementing cutting-edge technology to delivering tailored solutions, they've consistently gone above and beyond. The impact of all the wonderful things they did for Growth is truly immeasurable, knowing we had the tools in place to foster a culture of learning and collaboration that has transformed our school community. Their dedication to our mission has not only enriched the students’ educational experience but has also empowered our educators to thrive.
We have worked with Learning Tech for many years and they have always provided outstanding service and professional work. I recently had to resolve some discrepancies from AT&T invoices and Eileen worked promptly and efficiently to obtain clarification and resolution from AT&T.
She knows the process well and diligently guides us through the e-rate process too.

As an account manager, I have been dealing with erate consultants from all different organizations.
Luckily, it was a pleasure working with Sally who was very helpful and really fast to support in all our concerns, she has even found out a mistake that was done by me personally and reached out to adjust it in a very professional way.
Thank you guys and looking forward to more and more work together!
Learningtech does a great job of keeping us informed and managing vendors through the e-rate process on a very tight timeline. It's refreshing to work with a team that places such a high value on customer service. I highly recommend their services.

Learningtech does an exceptional job working with the clients and the carriers to ensure all of the things that need to get done are completed. Sally Savona, specifically, has been a pleasure to work with and always communicates well. Thanks very much!!!
Mark Miller was a conscientious, knowledgable, and wise advisor, who took our poorly framed, wide-ranging questions and concerns and distilled them into an easily comprehended, actionable report. This report has been an essential document for our organization as we plan our technological growth and has been extremely useful when working with the administration of our organization to justify our need for personnel. I strongly recommend the Miller Institute!
Learningtech.org helped us get funded for our first Category 2 application! Tom was diligent in walking us through the process, reaching out to those he needed information from and making sure everything was completed by the deadlines. I couldn't be happier knowing our E-Rate is in capable hands.
As a small, independent charter school in Central Anaheim, Vibrant Minds Charter School is grateful to our partners that cover areas where we do not have internal expertise. Learningtech has been this for us -- a caring and consistent partner over the past seven years. The labyrinth of rules and regulations that are associated with e-rate funding requires a level of expertise that we do not have the bandwidth to take on. Learningtech has successfully guided us as we continue to receive e-rate support. As a school that prides itself in being a strength-based learning environment with a rigorous academic program and a plethora of enrichment activities, our lifeline is a strong and affordable internet connectivity that gives our scholars access to a multitude of resources. We appreciate Learningtech for all the organization has done for us!
The Miller Institute is an integral part of the Montague Charter Academy community. Their knowledge and thoroughness of the E-rate application process are 2nd to none. I highly recommend this service and their team to other school districts!
We've been working with Learningtech.org for the last couple of years. They have helped us with E-Rate and ECF processes, and Tom is our direct contact. With the team's help, we received funding for our students' high-speed internet, networking infrastructure, and Chromebooks.
The Learningtech team is very organized, prompt, always available to help if there is any question, competent, and very understanding. We are thankful to have such a trustworthy and firm team we can rely on as consultants.
I had to find a new Erate consultant this year since our previous one retired. Another company recommended that we check out LearningTech. I'm thankful for the recommendation because they have been great so far.
The Miller Institute has been instrumental in helping our organization

checking on contracts, communicating with vendors, and finding opportunities

Chris Miller has been a tremendous help in addressing network issues and finding
alternatives to infrastructure bottlenecks. Sally keeps us current and up to date

Learningtech.Org always exceeds my expectations. I have worked with them for 13 years and their professionalism, eRate expertise, and commitments to meeting deadlines is exceptional. The eRate programs for Internet and Network discounts are crucial to the success of our network infrastructure which allows us to server our students and teachers everyday. Teirra, Eileen, and others are great to work with!
Learningtech.org has been a key part of our technology success at Urban Corps Charter School since our start in 2011. They have helped us navigate the eRate process year after year and tracks down every dollar of our eRate discounts. Their customer service, attention to detail and response time is second to none.
I have had the plesure of working with this organization in the pursuit of Technology funding for schools on many occasions. They have been invaluable; in helping not only to navigate the often complex E-Rate system but have also provided technical expertise needed to define the scope of presnet and future technology needs.
Their expertise and attention to detail has resulted in the funding of technology infrastructure that would have been otherwise not possible. They have suggested and forseen possible technology issues on projects and literally saved Districts (that Ihave worked with) significant resources.
As with any funding, audits and inquiries are common. They have always been availble to answer any questions and provide supporting documentation ever needed. I can honestly say that theeir expertise and attention to detail has resulted in significantly hihger levels of funding than if we had attempted to navigated these complex systems by ourselves. Their fees do not compare to the benefits of their services. Workng with them is truly a wise investment.
The past few years have been very difficult for school IT departments across the country. When we came back to school this year in person, 90% of my Chromebook stock had been depleted due to the fact that we sent them home with elementary School students for a year. They came back with all kinds of interesting issues, but at the end of the day were mostly useless. With supplies low, finding equipment became extra difficult and we really limped through this year.
When I finally came up for air, I started to dig into my emails that I had never paid that much attention to. Much to my surprise I was leaving a lot of benefits behind. Sally and her team helped me not only maximize my budget and spending for this year, but they also helped me source from programs I had no idea existed. The influx of technology we are getting this year is indispensable and I would have never known all the discounts and benefits we have available without this amazing nonprofit.
The service that this organization provides is now indispensable to what I do. I can't imagine what I would do without them.
We've been partnered with Learningtech for years and Eileen and her team have been invaluable with all our E-Rate needs! They are extremely knowledgeable, detail-orientated, and provide excellent guidance for us every year.
They are awesome! They walk you through the whole process and they explain everything step by step. Love working with them.
Learningtech.org [The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology] continues to be excellent in every sense of the word. Their level of professionalism, timelessness, and ability to secure E-Rate funding is exceptional.
just want to share a bit of our experience with this organization. Mark and his team always go the extra mile — to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion -- in their efforts to bring Computer Science, STEM, and Making experiences to schools, youth programs, and educator professional learning."
We partnered with Learningtech.org on an NSF-sponsored research project involving the use of Liquid Handling Robots to inspire computational thinking for middle and high school students. We appreciated the insights, dedication, and professionalism of Learningtech.org’s team on this project.
Manzanita Charter Middle School has received outstanding service from Eileen Miller and Teirra Howe over the years. They have saved our school thousands of dollars by taking care of all our needs with the E-rate program. They are always one step ahead. They help us with determining our technology needs and come with the solution each time.
The best part of working with Eileen and Teirra is that Manzanita knows that all our paperwork will be submitted timely to ensure we receive all the discounts available to our school. I remember a deadline was coming up and Teirra send me several emails and called as well to remind me that the deadline was coming up and we would have lost significant money if we missed it. Some companies might have sent one email and not follow up.
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology is an outstanding organization and Manzanita appreciates all the work that they do on our behalf.
Extremely knowledgeable staff. They truly are experts in all matters related to E-rate funding. Rarely do you find an organization that is as dedicated and committed to their client’s best interest as The Miller Institute.

The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology has worked with Fenton Avenue Charter School and the Fenton Primary Center, two charter schools in the Lake View Terrace, a suburb of Los Angeles. The institute has assisted us in writing and receiving approval for E-Rate (Education Rate) plans that allow our schools to provide a level of technology to our 1,450 students far and above anything seen or available at a typical school within our authorizing district (Los Angeles Unified). The Miller Institute is more than knowledgeable, they are true experts in the field of educational technology and their recommendations and insight have allowed our schools to remain competitive and successful, while serving our community well.
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology has continued to be our school district's ERATE consultants. Mark and Eileen started with our district by giving feedback to our administration and it has turned into a long term relationship. Learningtech is not only knowledgeable but honest and reliable. They get the job done at a reasonable cost and do the extra to make sure we have all the documentation needed and that no dollars are left on the table. Learningtech helped us leverage nearly every dollar of our Category 2 budget - over $1.2M!
Dr Miller is an expert on Computer Science education and we are glad that he shares his knowledge and passion for this subject through his work with Learning Technology. He is able to use engaging hands-on activities to explain difficult concepts - and keep his programs fun yet rigorous. He has been and continues to be a leader for other computer science educators.
The team at LearningTech is filled with extremely knowledgeable, respective, and hard working individuals. They have helped us build new servers and have been there every step of the way to ensure we are successful. Any question we had was thoughtfully answered and we felt we were always in much capable hands.
When I was Director of Technology for the Sequoia Union High School District, we contracted with Learning with Technology (specifically Mark Miller) as we embarked upon writing our new technology master plan. I found Mark to not only be professional at all times, but his knowledge, passion, and organizational skills made our process nearly seamless. The committee we facilitated with Mark was well received by all and we ended up with an authentic, measurable, and actionable Technology Master Plan for the district.
STEM Preparatory Schools has worked with Learningtech since 2013. When we initially contracted with LT, (aka the Miller Institute for Learning With Technology), our organization looked for ways to save on internet costs. The consultants at Learningtech educated me while ensuring that there were making the best decisions for our organization. E-Rate is complex, but our longstanding relationship with Andree, (our Account Representative), makes this process bearable. We have seen significant cost savings since we started using E-Rate. I don't know that we would ever be able to apply for and receive funding without Andree and the team at LT. Thanks for all you do on our behalf.
I have worked with Dr. Miller and Eileen for the past several year!! They are extremely professional, extremely honest, extremely supportive. i have felt not only have they invested, in our school! But they have invested in me personally!! They are the real deal!!! Thanks for all your support and input!!! It has been so comforting to know we have such a awesome group to ensure we stay in compliant, in all Erate function, as well as Technology plan, as well as awesome support for WIFI input on our current system!!! I would have no problem encouraging others to invest in the Miller's!!!
Ilead schools has worked with Learningtech since 2011. When we initially contracted with LT, (aka the Miller Institute for Learning With Technology), our organization was not as complex as it has grown to be today. These complexities pose a growing challenge to the E-Rate application process, yet our consultants have calmly navigated all the E-Rate rules and nuances to ensure maximum funding. E-Rate is complex, but our longstanding relationship with Andree, (our Account Representative), makes this process bearable. I don't know that we would ever be able to apply for and receive funding without Andree and the team at LT. Thanks for all you do on our behalf.
The team at Learningtech has been great to work with. They listen, develop solutions that take all factors into account, and implement a solution that works. Their team worked collaboratively with ours, which provided a way for our staff to build essential new skills and a positive knowledge transfer of all new systems, policies, and practices.
I unfortunately cannot give a 6 star review, but if I could, I would.
I am so grateful for the work The Miller Institute does with Hack the Future. I have volunteered on and off for the last few years, and brought my own kids to learn from tech industry legends, and have benefitted greatly from their work.
I've been a volunteer with Hack the Future, which is sponsored project of The Miller Institute, since 2011. I have great respect for Dr. Miller and the services and volunteer time he provides.
In 2017, Hack the Future became an official program of Learningtech.org. This partnership has dramatically improved our fundraising velocity, helped instate up-to-date practices to protect children and volunteers, supplied loaner laptops at every ensuing Hack the Future event, and brought the expertise of Mark Miller and other Learningtech volunteers to introduce new engaging stations such as the BBC micro:bit. The list goes on.
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology or Learningtech.org has a well trained staff that is able to work with youth of all ages and able to adjust the project difficulty to align with a youth's current knowledge of technology. Staff are excited about coding, robotics and Making so their passion engages youth and their interest in what they are learning and what they can create.
They have taken time to design coding projects that appeal to girls which are very effective. Their attention to designing programs that give everyone the opportunity to learn about technology is what gives them a 5 star rating.
The Miller Institute has been a crucial ally in putting on Hack the Future events. They have provided loaner laptops to kids who would not otherwise be able to participate in our hack-a-thons, and have helped organize and run many events. Mark is a pleasure to work with, and is always engaged with our participants.
Dr. Miller is a living legend. He studied under Seymour Papert who created Logo and the Turtle teaching robot at the beginning of (computer education ) time. Dr. Miller teaches with a huge smile showing his caring. His camp curricula is so much more ambitious than others giving kids access to several languages, approaches to controlling and sensing things and getting them to build something real ... in a short class. His expertise and experience makes him great at teaching teachers, students, setting up IT for schools and be a scientist too.
These are the reasons I joined his board of directors
The Miller Institute has been worth their weight in platinum. They have helped our tiny public charter school to navigate the complex world of Federal E-Rate Funding for many years now, and they are knowledgeable, efficient, and above all responsive. I recommend them without reservation to anyone in need of support with school funding.
Beyond their worth as a business, the Miller Institute is that rare company that allows the humanity of its staff and leaders to shine through. Throughout banking errors and mixups on our school's end, endless questions and change requests -- and even a battle with a vendor who seemed unable to deliver promised services -- Eileen, Andree, and even Executive Director Mark Miller remain patient and kind. I am indescribably more confident in our E-Rate funding work knowing that they have our backs.
This is the only summer camp in the Bay Area that I know where kids get real experience programming microprocessors to run complex experiments.
After just two seasons at the San Carlos campus my son is now very comfortable programming motors and collecting data from various sensors. This is so useful if you are going to be working in industry.
The staff is extremely helpful, with experts on had to help them whenever they get confused; and for those who are not so comfortable programming electronics, they use simpler code language.
I really can't say enough about this place.
We are very impressed with the Learning Tech camps! The leaders and interns are truly knowledgeable and are excellent mentors, and the resources available to the kids are superb. The camps provide an environment that foster exploration, learning, team work and communication, in addition to providing a strong foundation in coding and making. My son attended all four weeks that the camp was offered and loved it! This is his second year attending the camp and he wants to sign up again next year. I think the camps have definitely sparked a passion for the field. Thank you Learning Tech!
I just wanted to thank you one more time for including Bobby in your class. He had a great time and learned a lot, in fact, he used his compass to help direct us back home after Friday's class! We all really enjoyed looking at all the projects, and you could tell the kids were having a great time.
I'm glad we got to meet, even if it was just to say hello, and it was easy to see how much you and all the other teachers care about the students.
Take care and keep up the excellent work.
-- Bob
I have worked with them and delivered some technology for them to let the kids build and create. I have found the team to be top notch and very good with the kids and enjoy their confidence. This allows the kids to explore, fail, fix and learn.

The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology has had such positive impact for students throughout the region. From technology infrastructure to hands-on learning, this NGO has opened doors for students and inspired our young learners.
As a 6th grade teacher, I can't say enough about Learning Tech. I started working with this organization 5+ years ago. They are the organization that helped us run a truly innovative math/STEM curriculum throughout the district. The curriculum was developed using SketchUp.org and my students couldn't get enough of this program.
Additionally, I have been working with Learning Tech this past year with their after school Makers Space program here at Ingrid B. Lacy Middle school. This program started out small, but has deservedly grown over these past months! Learning Tech started the program small, all the while listened to the students, asking them repeatedly what they wanted from this program. They let the students shape this program, gave them a voice, let them determine what they wanted to invent, investigate, build, etc. As a result, students started to join our little after school program. We are now up to 20 students, and we are growing!
Learning Tech not only brings years of STEM knowledge and field experience to my students, but they also bring an infectious energy to learn and build.
Sincerely,
Janice Miller

Excellent... I only have wonderful things to say about the Miller Institute this organization has provided foster children from San Mateo County with generous scholarships so that they can attend STEM camps enriching their lives as they learn and enjoy it! . I have nothing but positive feedback after the camp and staff . I have social workers making sure their kids get that opportunity to go. Please continue your excellent work
Such a great camp that they put on for children. The STEM camp taught the kids I work with so much and has increased their interest in technology.
I work with foster youth. Stem Camp really inspired one young man that I work with. I watched him blossom and laugh and become very intellectually inspired while at the camp. On the last day, when all the parents come, he ran around the room showing me his mechanical arm that picked up candy when he pressed a button. He was so proud and his smile was huge. It was amazing to watch my foster youth demonstrate his creative invention with confidence and I believe it helped his self esteem as well.
I’m a Middle School teacher and was looking for STEM related Robotics Kits for my robotics Elective Course. I was grateful that I was able to check out EV3 Mindstorms Kits and Cubelets from our San Mateo County of Education Office STEM Center, free of charge for our student instruction. I later found out that it was made possible by The Miller Institute of Technology, a.k.a The Learningtech.org. Dr. Erickson and Dr.Miller are very passionate about providing equitable digital access to all students. With their valuable partnership, our students were able to work with Stanford Professors in an innovative NSF Grant project. By their generous scholarships, our students were able to attend and learn Coding and robotics through their high-tech, STEM-oriented summer camps. We’re so fortunate to have the support of non-profit organization like the Miller Institute that help and motivate our students and educators. I wish and hope they’ll continue to support our community for many more years!
As a Board member, I can't say enough about the work that Miller Institute does for Education.
The provide opportunities to bring additional, much needed funding into the classroom & have directed programs that focus on the under-served student population in technology education.
I'm proud to be a Board member of this organization!
This is a quality organization that does great work! They saved our school when in turmoil due the sudden death of of Technology Director and have been exceptional partners since 1999. When asked to join their Board of Directors, I considered it an honor. I recommend The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology without reservation and with great enthusiasm!
I have known Miller Institute staff for several decades now, having worked with them on previous projects, and supported their work in various capacities over the years. Miller Institute staff are exceptional in their services and highly dedicated to the mission of engaging youth and schools in meaningful technology use in education.
Mark and the rest of the crew have great STEM programs for kids and really care about schools and non-profits making the best possible use of technology.
We have known of Mark Miller's ground-breaking work with young people for almost two decades. His methodology, his insights, and his vision motivate us to want to continue our collaborative work with him, so that through media, his templates can reach a far wider audience.
Led by Dr. Mark Miller, the Miller Institute for Learning with Technology has been a pioneering innovator in helping K-12 school set up affordable internet access. We look forward to a continuing relationship in expanding computer science curricula to all students.
They have worked hard to ensure that foster youth are included in summer enrichment programs for STEAM, notably computational thinking, making, and robotics. I admire their passion for bringing these skills to ALL kids.. I have known them for a long time, and I am impressed how they have dedicated their lives and careers to helping kids and furthering education
The Miller Institute has lots of expertise and passion to get children excited about (Lego) robotics.
Wonderful program for my CASA youth. He learned so much and loved going to the program. This was all made possible by the grant he was given to attend.
Thank you so much.

The Institutes work with school districts has in most cases exceeded their expectations. On top of that, the Institutes work on providing opportunities for targeted youth to gain experience with technology provides a mind-opening for them to realize there is a world out there it which they an succeed both now and in their adult futures. What more can you ask for?
Mark and the skilled, passionate and intellectual team at Learningtech are amongst the best in tech education. They are always looking to find the best methods of education and refreshing their toolkit to provide the most meaningful and relevant experiences for their students. These are people who care and work hard to create positive impact.
Miller Institute has been of great help in assisting my efforts to develop and introduce a new STEM device for learning digital logic.
My kids go to many camps but this was by far their favorite! They love learning, utilizing creativity and cannot wait until next year’s camp.
We came upon this camp while visiting The Maker Faire Bay Area - couple of years ago and we wonder why we waited so long to send our kids. We will definitely be back next summer!
Great non-profit who works with foster youth and at risk students teaching robotics, STEM and coding. Caring, dedicated staff!
I have worked with Miller Institute over the last 8 years helping charter schools utilize the federal e-rate program. Navigating thru the requirements and documentation can be truly challenging and a full time job in itself. Miller Institute has provided me with peace of mind and ensured we received the maximum value from the program each year. They are indispensable to many of us in the charter world and I couldn't say enough about their service.
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology has assisted our District greatly. The first step that we took with the Millers was to provide guidance and consultation about our current practices and assist us in developing a plan for the future. The fresh eyes that the Millers brought to our District facilitated communication and led to large C2 ERATE projects. The Millers not only provided guidance to our team, they also took the time to educate us along the way. Both Mark and Eileen, ensured that we understood the procedures. However, the decisions were always ours to make and now they were more informed decisions. Mark and Eileen provided all of this and more, in a charming and personable way. Our district has accomplished much in a short time with the Miller's help.
LearningTech has been a most excellent consultancy not only by educating me in all things eRate related but also as a resource of seeing the way forward to the best possible outcomes for my School District. Their expertise, patience & understanding has paved the way towards success for us. Everyone at LearningTech but especially Tom Wilkerson has been wonderful! Often Tom is one step ahead of me, helping to lead me where I need to go before I even know the way - he guides me, teaches me how to consider our options & providing great clarity in an eRate process of unknown murkiness. LearningTech & Tom keep me afloat so well! Thank you!
I am so thankful to you guys for what you did for my son. He loved the class and still remembers everything he has learned and still wants to go back. I am happy to help another child, as you did for us. I hope to be able to keep supporting your program because I know the impact it had on my son. Thank you!
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology is a five-star organization dedicated to providing superior services and positive outcomes for their clients. In working with Mark and Eileen Miller and other member of their staff, I've seen first-hand the fruits of their work ethic and awesome knowledge in the fields of E-Rate and technology. Their professionalism is top-notch and, perhaps most significantly, they are truly invested in their clients' success.
As a model in educational space, Learningtech has been instrumental in serving the needs of children in Puerto Rico. I had the privilege to work with them and their professionalism and dedication has been exceptional
I have interacted with this team, both personally and as a business owner, for many years. They demonstrate great dedication to their mission and I hope they continue to serve their community for many more years.
Learningtech uses a hands-on approach to teach computer science. They reach out to at-risk kids and provide aid when needed.
I've had a long-standing interest in the MIller Institute, partly driven by my own preofessional insterests in the connections between developing technologies and their impact on, and usefulness for improving education. In short, this Dr. Miller and his colleagues continue to achieve the highest level results for the students whom they help. More generally, their work provides path-breaking examples of approaches that can be used by others interested in using advanced technology to improve education.
I am very pleased to say that I have had a very positive 5+ year relationship with the Miller Institute for Learning with Technology partnering with them in all levels of grant funded STEM program delivery. I have the upmost respect for Mark, Len and their staff, and can only say good things about them!
The Miller Institute offers programs and camps to teach coding for modding Minecraft and controlling robots. While they're having fun, kids are learning real-world technology skills like programming and building circuits. My sons have attended their summer camps and have really enjoyed them!
I have worked with Mark Miller and Learningtech for a number of years now and they are very honest people who work hard and are passionate about education and the quality of their program delivery. I have been very impressed by Mark and the rest of the staff.
Mark Miller and his organization, The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology represents the very highest standards in all realms. The immense help that his org has delivered to students, teachers and admin to get and use technology for learning is worthy of a Nobel Prize. The tirelessness of Mr. Miller with the single minded focus on helping stakeholders in the educational milieu use technology to improve learning is truly phenomenal. It has been my honor to witness some of the varied work that Mr. Miller's organization has performed in schools and have to say its nothing short of miraculous. Seeing children light up as they successfully program a robot, build their own computer or really have one of those AHA moments with technology that is life changing and helps set them on a STEM path demonstrates how much we need MORE organizations and increased funding for organizations such as The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology!

Mark Miller and the word integrity are synonymous for me. He is one of the most honorable people that I know and also one of the most brilliant. His work helping schools with technology through the Miller Institute is well known. The list of what he has accomplished within the field of Educational Technology is significant but he is humble and self deprecating about it. Mark is one of the few people I would characterize as a true genius because not only does he have a remarkably high IQ, but he has harnessed that intelligence into helping others and making the world a better place. Mark was a mentor for me when I was a classroom teacher back in the 90's in Daly City California. He helped me to see what was possible with technology in education. He helped my school come into the 21st century. The kids loved him because he had so much knowledge but was very approachable. Later on I was lucky to be able to for Mark for some time. I can truly say that anyone who has the chance to use the Miller Institute for Learning will be very happy that they did.
I have had outstanding experiences working with Learning Tech over the course of the past 10+ years. I would recommend them to any school or institution looking to add enrichment programs or for general support in technology implementation.
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology (Learning Tech) is a great organization that I am proud be associated with and to recommend to others.
Learning Tech has a great deal of expertise, is easy to work with and is a great value to Education.
They keep students first and have helped many non-profit organizations receive much needed services and federal funding to sustain their educational goals.
My son has attended several tech-related camps and programs. Learning Tech has been his best experience. He always feels comfortable, the technology he's learning is aligned with the descriptions (that's not always the case with many of these programs), and at the few times he is advanced, they adjust his program to challenge him.
My son has attended the summer camp for the past two summers. He never wants to repeat a summer camp but he enjoyed learning tech so much he returned. I like the many different subject options and all the cool perks like the 3D printer.

Thank you!
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology (LearningTech.org) has provided several engaging 2-week Robotics & Engineering workshops for our 9th and 10th grade students. Their workshops are organized in such a way that novice students can engage in the class and successfully complete programing and engineering challenges. The class curriculum was also flexible enough for advanced students to pursue more difficult challenges. Our students reported appreciation for the instructors deep knowledge of computer science and their ability to provide timely advice and support while working to solve programming and engineering challenges.
The Miller Institute helps us navigate the murky waters of Erate which helps Valley Preparatory Academy obtain funding for technology for staff and students.
Mark and his staff are very compassionate about increasing student's academic self-efficacy using STEM. Great program!
Our organization has partnered with the Miller Institute for Learning with Technology (aka Learning Tech) for over a year to offer technology camps to elementary and middle school students during school breaks and summer.
Learning Tech staff are knowledgable and easy to work with. They are well-prepared for each day of class and able to work with kids at whatever level they are currently in their technology know-how. Students experience "success" at the end of camp and can demonstrate their knowledge with their notes and actual demos. The staff are friendly and able to explain technology in such a way that students without prior knowledge to coding or robotics can get started and demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge at the end of each day.
My son attended a summer STEAM camp with this organization. He had a great experience learning how to build Minecraft mods. I'd definitely recommend it.
Learning Tech has been a great resource for STEM education! My boys have attended the summer camps for the past 2 years. They have participated and learned Scratch programming, Java, building Canary Mode applications (in Minecraft) and programmed in Robotics.
Learning Tech has gone above and beyond with help outside of the classroom. They have answer coding questions and helped with troubleshooting!
Highly recommend this company.
Fenton Avenue Charter School has benefited from the Miller Institute's expertise and excellent service. They have assisted with E-Rate approvals and reviews, advice on technology integration, and internet and web-based learning. The Miller Institute has been a fabulous organization in helping integrate technology into the classroom. They are very passionate about their mission and vision. The Miller Institute has always been highly recommended and continues to provide excellent service. They are extremely hard working and dedicated.

Does a great job in working with our students in a team-teaching model in Computer Science. We have great feedback from our students and they thoroughly enjoy the expertise and knowledge!
i met Mark when visiting his office for a school project that I was volunteering my computer expertise. I am extremely impressed with his commitment to learning through the use of technology.
I am a middle school science teacher and have also taught Computer Classes. This year, I am teaching Computer Science for the first time. I could not be doing this class without the help and direction by Learningtech.org. I appreciate the expertise and direction provided by Dr. Miller and his team. The students enjoy their lessons. And the students are producing projects that meet standards set by CSTA, and Common Core in math and language arts. Students are also producing projects that cross the silos into science curriculum. Furthermore, the support provided to me includes that I will be self-directed and leading the Computer Science classes in the near future. This is awesome!
As an elementary Technology Specialist I heard Dr. Miller speak at a conference and was impressed with the extent of the program and focus on deep learning and rigor. I visited a camp over the summer to see the work in action, and frankly to 'borrow' some of their ideas, and came away even more impressed. Students were engaged in serious study in a variety of challenging technical activities. There was also a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion. I particularly enjoyed the class designed to encourage girls which included making a 'technified' stuffed animal. I've since implemented the same program at my own school to great success. Lots of people are talking about extending technology to younger students - these people are actually doing it effectively.
Our school district has been working with The Miller Institute for over five years. They saved the day when we got into some E-rate trouble awhile back and have helped keep us in the safe-zone ever since. These days, we actually do not have to rely on them as often as we did in the past because they have us so well-trained! (That should be the goal of any good consultant, right?) Since they are such a tremendous/valuable resource, we continue to contract with them for E-rate consulting and recommend that you do the same.
What a great resource for schools! The Miller Institute is a first class business that focuses on children first. Thanks for everything you have provided for students with the most need.

The Miller Institute is an amazing group of people genuinely helping to educate students through innovative technology. They have been a great resource in helping my school provide a great learning environment with the latest technology in a neighborhood that is under served.
Thank you for advocating for us with E-rate! You have helped us greatly with our technology implementation.
Hi Dr. Miller:
Thanks very much for planning this final session, it sounds like kids are getting the opportunity to develop skills as well as have some fun. Although I was not able to make it to the party during the day, my son demonstrated his game to me at night, I think they take pride on what they do in this class and they really enjoyed the learning. As a parent I feel they are really lucky to have you, and I'd like to thank you for what you have done.
As for the next year, I'm confident that you have the age appropriate material for them to continue the development. One thing I know for sure is that my son is going to this class as long as it is offered. Have a great summer!
Regards
C.Z., Parent of 4th grader

Thanks for your thoughtful comments!
I worked with Mark Miller at Apple, and his institute is continuing his excellent work from those days. When done correctly, technology can be a really aid to learning, and Mark does it right.
I've known the folks at Learningtech for several years. I knew of Mark Miller from his years at Apple and that he was revered as a 'righteous individual'. I worked with the Miller Institute at Campbell Elementary School District and was thrilled and impressed by their competence, kindness and ability to really understand our needs and deficits. They did a great job and continue to work with that district.
When I came to East Side Union, I had a year remaining on an existing contract for the services that the Miller Institute offers, when the year was up, we issued an RFQ for those services and the Miller Institute was the best value by a good margin. In the time we have used Miller Institute, my staff (all new to working with MI) have commented on the professionalism, competence and just goodness and thoroughness of the entire team. Our representative, Josh, is fantastic and we have been able to maximize savings, discounts and bring advantages to our students and staff we have not achieved in the past.
So many vendors offer a lot of promises and struggle to convert that into results. The Miller Institute delivers and delivers and delivers... and the best part is that I trust the advice, I trust the guidance because I know it is with long term viability and compliance in mind. Thank you for the opportunity to sing some praises that are well deserved!
My son had the opportunity to attend the summer camps with Learningtech (Miller Institute) . Not only was I pleased with the program but my son was excited to attend each and every session. The staff and volunteers were very professional and courteous. My son was able to participate in fun technology classes with fellow future "techie" students, learned the importance of teamwork and came away with a fun experience. I would highly recommended the Learningtech programs.
Mark has made many great contributions to educating children. It is his life's passion and there are very few knowledgeable tech gurus who are as committed to education as Mark.
Our daughters attended a week at the Miller Institute in summer 2012, learned a lot, and had a great time! Thanks to Mark Miller and team!
Teachers from Learning Tech conducted a Computer Science course at our high school. As a student of Learning Tech, I had the pleasure to tour large companies such as IBM and Google.
Mark Miller and his team are top notch all the way. We have chosen The Miller Institute to help our clients face the complex tech infrastructure issues inherent in becoming a 21st century school. Their tech plans and recommendations are relevant, actionable and effective because they focus on supporting the organization’s instructional needs, not chasing the tech fad of the hour. These are techies who understand what educators need because they listen to the educator! This group is responsive, deeply ethical and highly collaborative. Mark's expertise, experience and results are extraordinary, but don't be scared off by his training, accomplishments and long resume; time and time again, I see Mark bring his expertise to bear with genuine respect and deep humility that puts the most tech-worried administrator at ease. He approaches each engagement eager to help, inform and be a guide. And Mark has built a team that is as passionate and knowledgeable as he is. It is a delight to work with folks who are so passionate, and good, at what they do. -Rebecca Tomasini, Founder and CEO of The Alvo Institute, Oakland, CA
Our Director of Technology unexpectedly passed away and all our E-Rate knowledge went with him. After two costly and useless tech vendors, I found the Miller Institute. Mark quickly handled the errors created by others and got us back on track. I was so impressed by his ability and vision that I became a Miller Institute board member. Our association began over 16 years ago when I was E.D. of Fenton Avenue Charter School. I am now retired and Chairman of the Board of Fenton Charter Public Schools, a CMO with three charters of 2500 students (soon to be five schools). Over the years our students have benefited by over $4million in E-rate awards facilitated by the Miller Institute. They are trustworthy, loyal, knowledgeable, supportive and responsive - one of a few truly outstanding organizations.

LearningTech camps are outstanding in quality hands-on summer camps which motivate kids of different backgrounds to learn about latest development in modern technology which is available for children. This camp has very small students to teachers ratio such that no kids get behind and everyone is learning at a comfortable speed. Projects are challenging, but kids friendly and entertaining which motivates kids to be creative and learn an impressive amount of technical material just in one week. I also like that LearningTech camps are offered as all-day camps and their price is much lower than comparable camps in our area. My kids are always looking forward to the LearningTech summer camps. Thank you for offering outstanding tech camps to our kids which they keep talking about all year long!
Brilliant; passionate; genuine. Just a few of the words that describe The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology.
The Learningtech.org camps are great fun with robust learning environment. Our son has attended the STEM camps for five summers now and is pursuing engineering and computer programming in high school now. The instructions make it fun and offer a valuable learning experience with engaging competitions in Troubleshooting 101 and robotics. The kids are all charged up after camp and talk a mile a minute when explaining all they do. We highly recommend the Learningtech.org summer camps.
The Miller Institute and in particular Dr. Mark Miller and Loren Parkhurst were hired as consultants to help our schools with our first ever E-Rate application. Unlike most consultants, they charged a very reasonable rate based upon time spent on our application not the amount of money we were being funded. They also did such a good job explaining the process and involving me in the application that the next year I was able to complete the application all by myself (however, I did hire them as an independent 3rd party bid reviewer). I was so impressed with how they conducted the e-rate process that I hired them to conduct some leadership & technology professional development for all of our school leadership teams. They again did an excellent job, were very prepared and tailored our training to match the skills and desires of our leadership team.

We are proud that we were able to help these wonderful schools in New Orleans. One of our fond hopes is to find enough sponsorship to enable us to return to the Big Easy and offer a multi-week summer tech camp for their high school students, leading to CompTIA A+ certification and career options.
Mark and his organization were extremely helpful to our students during the 12 years I was on the San Carlos school board. He got our district well started with technology in the early nineties and then effectively supported the district for a while in all its technology needs. His work and enthusiasm were a major reason our teachers became comfortable using computers in their classrooms. His Institute then helped us develop in house capability and aided us in bringing some support in house.
All along he worked with students (our district is K-8) in seminars in school and in the summer programs. These were very popular because of the skills taught and the fun enjoyed. His dedication and enthusiasm for kids and their education is infectious making it very enjoyable to work with him and his group.
The Miller Institute for Learning has always made kids their top priority. They want all children to have an opportunity to learn cutting edge technology that will help them achieve success in the future. They have wonderful rapport with students and strive to make learning fun. Kids walk away feeling better about themselves and are better equipped to function in our technological world.
Our son has gone to the Miller Institute of Leaning summer camps for four summers now. Although our son has been to a number of camps, including the ID Tech which is much much more expensive, The Miller Institute camp is his favorite by far. He loves the Troubleshooting 101 and has invited several of his friends to join him. The boys are now 13 and very computer savvy. The camp leader always can challenge and engage as they skills grow. We moved across the country and the one request our son made was to come back the summer 2012 and go to the Miller Institute camp.
The Troubleshooting camp is perfect for pre-teens and teenagers. The activities include disabling something on a computer, and having another student figure out what is wrong. The kids are so inventive and have a great time tricking each other. I recommend a group of techie friends take this class together and use their brain power to out-do each other. While all the fun is going on, there is a tremendous amount of learning about computers, how they work, and how to problem solve. Priceless
Our son also enjoyed the robotics camps and his all time favorite was build a computer camp which is wants to do every summer - but he already has his computer. As a result of what he learned in the class, four years ago, he has since upgraded his computer and he helped a friend build a computer, and many friends upgrade their operating systems.
the MIller Institute camps leaders are very knowledgable with years and years of industry experience, they can adjust and change the class based on where the kids are at - which makes for an interesting and meaningful camp each time. It there is a wide range of skills, they pair the appropriate kids together and more seasoned kids help the newbies - which is very empowering for all.
As a parent I appreciate the integrity and values that are modeled and taught from turning off the computers, finishing projects, and making it fun. The camp leaders are inspirational and the kids respect them.
In addition, there is a value of community service which permeates the organization which influences the campers.
We will be returning to California for another week of the Miller Institute camp.

This is the 3rd summer my now 13 year old son has attended the Miller Institute Summer camp. My son loves the technical content and depth and highly respects the knowledge of the camp leaders. As a result, we donated funds to enable another child to attend the Miller Institute camp for the 2nd year in a row. This is why: In the computer troubleshooting camp, the kids were in teams, and asked to create several problem on the computer for another team to figure out - this could have gone forever and the kids loved every minute of it. Very creative. The kids also were ask to purposefully download a virus on a contained computer and see what happens and troubleshoot. What a great learning experience. The instructors are very knowledgable and excellent with all ages of kids. They have the presence of mind to ask the older kids to assist the younger kids - which is a non-technical and very meaningful learning experience for all. My son wants to take the camp again next summer. They also offer several levels of robotic classes which my son has enjoyed for two summers in a row. The kids work together on projects - so there is an added level to the learning. My sons all time favorite was to build a computer from scratch. He would take this class every year if he could. I highly recommend The Miller Institute. They offer financial aid scholarships. Plus they are nice people as they show great respect for each individual child and have strict boundaries on acceptable group behavior which benefits all.
I have known the Miller's for over 10 years. I worked for The Miller Institute for a time. They are completely dedicated to enriching the learning of K-12 kids through the use of modern technology. They and those who assist them work tirelessly to provide computer technology to schools. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who might wish to assist their endeavors.
I am currently volunteering as a videographer for Mark and his team as they start the year's robotics classes and apply for grants...every second so far has been a delight, and their passion comes through beautifully on camera. I can't wait to work more with them and assemble the footage I have into a mini-feature showcasing their work.
I've known the folks at the Miller Institute for many years, as colleague and client. The offer a broad range of services including infrastructure consultation, installation, and administration. What is especially cool about them are their hands on tech oriented camps, including camps targeting the under-served. The Miller Institute has a deep knowledge of technology, excellent communication skills with both technical and non technical folks, and a "do it right" ethic.
I was a volunteer system/network administrator for my kids school. The Miller Institute was contracted by the local school district for tech infrastructure support. Which resulted in our frequent collaboration. The Miller Institute helped us install network infrastructure (including racks, routers, switches, servers, power, air conditioning, cable, fiber, and on and on), move server rooms, move our MPOE, configure our servers, and debug and fix failed wiring, and help set up and educate the staff on the school administration software. In short, they were indispensable.
Mark Miller and his organization spent two months teaching my child an array of technology. His organization was brought in to teach a tech class at my son's charter high school located in Redwood City. It was a resounding success. He taught hands-on technology that made it all real for the kids. The program was not about the bells and whistles to impress the parents but the nuts and bolts of what makes technology exciting. The kids could not help but to become engaged because of Marks incredible enthusiasm, dedication to the Miller Institute and his own life long love of the subject. He is quite an inspiration and obviously a mentor ro many successful people the field. BRAVO Miller Institute of Learning!
The founder of The Miller Institute for Learning was a founding parent at our school, the San Carlos Learning Center. From the beginning, Dr. Miller had a profound influence on the use of technology by our educators, learners, and parents. He is the rare "techie" that understands learning theory, educational organizations, and how to use technology as a tool to improve and enhance learning. The Miller Institute has continued to help our school grow and change with the times. They supported us as one of seven school in the San Carlos School District. They did an excellent job understanding our individual needs and different culture, and worked with us to individually to accommodate these needs. They held our hand when we needed it, and kept at a distance when we didn't.
My biggest rave is that the education of children is at the heart of the Miller Institute for Learning. Using technology to engage learners is their passion. They do this through workshops and by encouraging the learners to play an active role in maintaining and troubleshooting the technology they use. We are fortunate to have organizations like this that are fostering our future innovators.
The Miller Institute has served school districts and charter schools for the past 20 years. From their initial volunteer support for the first Net Day in the San Carlos School District to the testimonials I've heard from charter school operators who received their first introduction to instructional tecnology and the infrastructure and learning plans that Mark Miller facilitated.
The Miller Institute has pioneered ed tech support and innovation from initial hardware infrastructure to youth computer clubs to high quality professional development for teachers and school leaders.
Learning has been aided and the opportunity equation has changed as a result of the Miller Institute's commitment to youth and education.
The Miller Institute for Learning is an unbiased organization whose goals are to help Education clients with fairness, openness and great understanding of the multiple changes of governmental rules/regulations that govern these clients funding. The Miller Institute knows the regulatory laws and do not sidestep the processes to ensure complete compliance. Best of all they are vendor agnostic, never showing favoritism. When I meet a client in need, I never fail to refer a customer to them. I know that the clients need will be individually analyzed and resolved. This is done, whether or not our firm wins the business or not
The energy and skill the Miller Institute have brought to their long years of work with administrators, teachers and students in the San Carlos School District deserve commendation. Vision, integrity and superb content knowledge are the hallmarks of Mark Miller and his people.

It is truly an honor to serve people and organizations who themselves have done so much to help our schools. Sincerely, Mark Miller (E.D.)
The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology is an amazing organization. They do so much for schools, and ask for so little in return. I have had the pleasure of working with the team there for several years, and my experience has always been positive and inspiring. Thank you so much!
The Miller Institute for Learning has been an invaluable partner for the California Charter Schools Conference. The institute has run our Cyber Cafe for many years and has provided an extraordinary level of customer service to our attendees. In addition, we rely heavily on the institute to present sessions each year that are vital to charter schools in California. The leadership and staff at the institute have a fantastic ``can do'' attitude and elevate every project where they are involved.

Thank you so much! We're working on that growing thing!
We are a small business who's computer systems were all set up by The Miller Institute for Learning. For years they handled our growth and IT needs with full responsiveness and a concern towards saving us money. We highly recommend them for schools and non-profits which is their area of expertise especially with security.

Learningtech.org 09/27/2011
Thanks for the thoughtful review! Nowadays, for clients where there is interest, we set up a shared repository for relevant documentation such as inventories of equipment. This probably would be ideal for what you have in mind. Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Sincerely, Mark (Mark L. Miller, Ph.D., Executive Director)
The Miller Institute for Learning hosted a demonstration booth at the State Fair last year in the Industrial & Technology Education Building. Visiting fair-goers loved playing with, and learning about, the robots! Their organization is very professional and efficient to work with and their booth was so much fun.
Our family LOVES the Mark Miller Institute. I think it is now 3 years that my grandson has been attending the Institute's summer camp. My grandson has learned so much. For me personally, what stands high above everything is how my grandson 'feels' about himself. I believe his relationship to Mark and the other camp leaders helped my grandson know he has a place in the world- He was able to freely communicate his thoughts and ideas about technology and robotics and be received with warmth, interest and encouragement. THIS is key to everything. Thank You- Mark Miller Institute. My grandson loves all of you and you'll be one of the remembered highlights of his childhood. SForte

Wow, thank you, you truly made my day!
My son attended their summer class in 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed it. He's been into Lego robotics ever since and is in a robotics after-school program this Fall. I wish the Learning Institute would partner with local schools to make the schools' robotics programs more robust.

We are always very appreciative when someone takes the time to write a few kind words about our programs. We are also happy to note that we are offering many after school programs in the Bay area, in partnership with local schools as well as cities. We are excited to share that we just learned that our team, the San Mateo County Community STEM Alliance (a partnership with Pacifica, Half Moon Bay and San Carlos as well as our colleagues at Coastside STEM) has been selected for a grant, reaching out to under-served students in several areas of the County. We would welcome the chance to collaborate with our friends in RWC, such as North Star Academy, as well.
We started our relationship with The Miller Institute on recommendation from some charter school associates in California. They did such a wonderful job showing me the ropes of dealing with the E-Rate process, that I didn't require much assistance applying in our second year of successful funding. However, I so thoroughly enjoyed working with them, that I invited them to develop a technology leadership training institute for our 4 charter schools' administrators. It worked out wonderfully, our school administrators have increased their buy-in to the strengths of technology integration in both classroom teaching and teaching evaluation. We even have an administrator now recording lesson delivery and using the recordings to coach and mentor his teachers.
Miller Institute has been instrumental in getting our plans in place so that we could submit fundable applications for E-Rate. After several years of failed attempts, Miller Institute has help us to develop tech plans and to develop an internal protocal to ensure that our "steps to E-Rate success" are in place. Mark and his crew are very knowledgable and responsive. There are also very nice individuals and are a pleasure to work with!
