This company is SUCH A SCAM! All it takes is one person to send in phony "adoption papers" which ANYONE can fabricate and they will remove your name from the chip without even notifying you that someone else is attempting to register their name!!! Also, they are the suject of an upcoming documentary - they are SO TERRIBLE! Do not trust this company!

These are absolutely horrible people. Stay far far away from them. I have had 2 experiences with them, both bad.

The most recent: On New Years Day, 2021, I saw a fb post about a "found" cat in poor condition. It was a friendly outdoor cat who 2 years ago I trapped and had neutered, at the request of a person living where the cat was fed. The pandemic caused the business to close; the person and cat disappeared. But the chip was still registered to me. The finder took the cat to the ER to be scanned. They called Michelsons, who would only give them the cat's name and the name & phone # of the animal group that had purchased the chip. That group had nothing at all to do with the cat; they are just a provider of chips to clinics. And they were closed, anyway. Michelsons obviously HAD MY INFO, since they sent me a text and vm, several HOURS later. The info they gave me was FALSE. They said the chip purchaser had found the cat; gave me that #. Michelsons' GROSSLY NEGLIGENT actions caused a delay of many hours in getting SweetPea to me and vet care. HE DIED IN MY ARMS!!!

SO FAR MY EXPERIENCE WITH MICHELSON HAS BEEN HORRIBLE!!! MY ADVICE IS TO FIND SOME ALTERNATIVE TO THIS ORGANIZATION. I PAYED TO HAVE MY DOG CHIPPED AND WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS ON A HALF SHEET OF PAPER ENTITLED “MICHELSON FOUND ANIMALS REGISTRY” ON WHICH I WAS PROMPTED TO REGISTER MY DOG BY SETTING UP AN ACCOUNT. GOOD LUCK ON DOING THAT!!! I WAS SENT AROUND AND AROUND IN CIRCLES. I WOULD GO THROUGH THE PROCESS AND THEN WHEN I TRIED TO SIGN IN, IT WOULD PROMPT ME TO START THE WHOLE PROCESS OVER...THIS WENT ON FOR THREE CYCLES. THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO PHONE NUMBER FOR CUSTOMERS AND THERE IS NO LIVE CHAT OPTION. SO AFTER 6 OR 7 EMAILS I’M STILL IN THE SAME PLACE. THE RESPONSES TO MY EMAILS HAVE PRETTY MUCH BEEN “CUT AND PASTE” TYPE ANSWERS THAT ARE OF NO HELP. I STILL HAVE NO IDEA IF MY DOG IS REGISTERED ANYWHERE. I HAVE TO GIVE THIS ORGANIZATIONS TWO THUMBS DOWN OT ONE MIDDLE FINGER UP!!! FIND SOME OTHER WAY TO CHIP YOUR ANIMALS AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSEL!!!

The more I learned about The Michelson Found Animals Foundation, the more I love them and all the goodness they are doing!! Their backstory is fascinating! Founded after the devastation of hurricane Katrina, they created a movement for microchipping pets along with setting up unique adoption & retail shops. Their space is welcoming, clean, full of very highly informed people and great energy. The plethora of information that is available through The Michelson Found Animals Foundation is extremely impressive. I have frequented their location in Culver City for pet supplies and adopting rescued animals.

Then, I recently started volunteering with a new start up animal rescue called SoulaWay.org and spoke to the founder of that organization about teaming up with The Michelson Foundation. They warmly& kindly invited our rescue dogs to one of their adoption events, where we experienced great success with finding forever homes for all of our furry rescues. We could not have done it without The Michelson Foundation. The passion and commitment for the betterment of animals exudes from every experience, staff member and dialog I have ever had with anyone at The Michelson Found Animals Foundation. This is an outstanding group of people!
