Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animals

Mission: The Mia Foundation was developed to give animals born with birth defects a fighting chance. So many animals born with birth defects, such as cleft palates or missing limbs, are euthanized at birth. With a little work and a lot of love, these animals give back so much more than anyone could possibly imagine. All they need is a chance!!

I am a volunteer and am a huge supporter of The Mia Foundation. Our Mission that if they are born they deserve a chance has saved countless lives. To rescue these babies and watch them thrive when the rest of the world had given up on them is truly remarkable. I can thank The Mia Foundation for my two special babies Harmony and Hope whom were both born without front legs, but trust me that doesn't slow them down one bit. I look forward to seeing all the new babies that will be given a chance at life thanks to this great organization.

The Mia Foundation holds true to their quote "If they are born, they deserve a chance". I have volunteered and worked part-time for several other rescues before this one. This rescue moves heaven & earth to give each baby that is born with a birth defect a fighting chance to be healthy, happy and find a forever home. It is a non-profit rescue run entirely on volunteers & donations. It tackles the type of rescue that is unique & difficult because the babies have a high mortality rate and breeders & vets historically didn't try to give these babies a chance. The Mia Foundation is educating people that these babies can live full, happy lives and reward a family through adoption. Please look up this rescue and follow them. It will be worth your time. :)

I have been associated with The Mia Foundation since it was created. I have seen countless animals be given Medical care and quality of life when doctors had given them a death sentence. I have personally seen where donations go- and it is directly into medical costs for animals born with birth defects. I have also witnessed the direct effect the stories of the animals have on humans. Countless stories of how following the stories of Mia Foundation babies has deeply effected them (positively), on emotional and spiritual levels. The Mia Foundation IS a great nonprofit!

I have been with The Mia Foundation from the first day it was started. Working everyday with The Mia Foundation is the most rewarding and heart felt thing I have ever done in my life. Seeing Mia's Mission first hand is something truly amazing. The sweet lives that we save everyday is what it is all about. I do events for The Foundation and love to get out and tell people what we do and to share all the sweet stories of these babies. I have 3 Mia dogs myself and they truly have been a blessing in my life. The work that Sue Rogers and Mia started and continues is something you just have to be a part of. My life is dedicated to The Mia Foundation.

2 years later and I am still a volunteer! I couldn't think of a better way to spend my free time. The joy that you experience when a pup starts making milestones is out of this world...the same pup that a Vet deemed not worthy of living. We love proving them wrong. The pups do too!

This foundation is wonderful. They are open, honest and very caring. I adopted my beautiful dog from them and was so impressed with everything. I can't say enough about them.

I am a volunteer and also a huge supporter of the Mia Foundation. Both of my dogs, Maverick and Meeko, were saved from certain death and given a chance at life thanks to The Mia Foundation. They were both fosters of mine and are now my personal pets. They are thriving and are truly two of the happiest dogs you will ever meet. I am thankful every day that Sue Rogers founded this organization. My life is filled with joy every day thanks to these boys that were given a chance to live.

My Meatball was born with swimmers puppy syndrome and The Mia Foundation gave him a chance to live a healthy, "normal" life. They paired up with Panda Paws Rescue and made sure he received top notch therapy at a very early age. Meatball's therapy was successful and now he has no problem walking, running, jumping and even swimming. He went from a puppy who couldn't even walk to an almost one year old pup who is now training to be his mama's service dog. All thanks to The Mia Foundation and Panda Paws who work tirelessly to help save animals just like him. I am forever greatful to The Mia Foundation & Panda Paws Rescue.

Giving animals born with birth defects a chance at life is rewarding in so many ways. Sue Rogers (Founder) and her Volunteers devote their time and lives to care for these little ones. Whether it is physical therapy, surgery, tube feeding, etc. we help them overcome these obstacles and help them find the perfect family to live a long and happy life with. It is so very special and I am honored to be a part of it.
