The Littlest Lamb is by far one of the best non-profits i have come across. in just 6 years they have made major strides towards their goal of helping orphans in Egypt break the cycle of poverty. They are truly dedicated to this cause and are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to reach this underrepresented population. Beyond the construction of their own orphanage they are also dedicated to the success of existing orphanages. When they set out to do something, they don't just do it but they do it well. All with a very small staff and a heap of volunteers. This organization truly knows how to leverage its networks.
The Littlest Lamb, founded in 2007 by Mira Riad, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, loving, and supportive home for orphaned children in Egypt. They use 100% of public donations to directly fund the construction of the orphanage (set to open in December of 2013) and other children’s programs.
I have been involved with this group for quite sometime now. They are very positive individuals with big dreams that they happen to make a reality. They wanted to build a home for orphans and street children and this December 2013, the 93000 sqft home will be open to over 150 orphans and street kids. They have also put together a competition that allows a team of two to win a free trip to the Grand Opening of the home in Cairo, Egypt. The team of two who raises $2000 or more will be sent to the opening.
