Mission: The mission of The Limb Preservation Foundation is to support the Prevention and treatment of limb threatening conditions due to trauma, tumor or infection.
Geographic areas served: At The Limb Preservation Foundation, we fund hope, help and possibilities for people experiencing limb threatening conditions. Our unique model brings together world-class physicians and researchers, passionate healthcare professionals and patients to advance research, support care and enhance lives.
Programs: Current Programs 1)The Patient Assistance Program, which provides direct financial reimbursement for uninsured and underinsured patients through five key areas to help defray the cost of limb-saving medical treatments and other associated costs when a patient seeks medical care. 2)Limb Cancer Research, to find a cure for bone cancer and other extremity diseases. Through The Foundation’s support, this research has led to the development of bone cancer treatments that have dramatically increased the survival rates of pediatric bone cancer patients from 60 percent in 1986 to more than 92 percent today. 3)Education, to inform the greater medical community about the management and treatment of conditions that place people at risk of losing an arm or a leg.
