Like a plant without water, if I go any length of time without enjoying the natural surroundings of my own backyard, I too, feel like I will wither away. The beauty of the natural surroundings in Santa Barbara County is largely do to the work of nonprofits such as the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County. I am so fortunate to live in a place where people value open space, habitat preservation, agriculture, and cultural heritage and are willing to contribute to its protection.
