Volunteering Oportunities

Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Education, Educational Services

Mission: The kindness campaign ("tkc") in february of 2016. The program, see it, say it, write it("ssw"), focused on encouraging kindness in the everyday interactions of elementary school students in pre-k through second grade by working through self-reflective journals. The idea driving the program was that if children could learn to work through their feelings through writing prompts and activities designed to engage other classmates, they would learn their impact in lifting others up and the power of kindness in the little things.

I love The Kindness Campaign and their mission to spread kindness, promote mental health, and get really helpful resources into our schools and our community. Community day was amazing and I love all the initiatives they are constantly putting together to make a difference in so many lives!

I worked as special education teacher for 10 years in Austin Independent School District and I witnessed firsthand how children need emotional and mental health resources in schools more than ever. When we first invited The Kindness Campaign to our campus back in 2018, we did not know what to expect. But TKC delivered, providing an outstanding educational experience for our students along with a major dose of fun. As they've grown, TKC now incorporates even more programming than they've had before--upholding their mission of making mental health accessible and fun. I strongly support TKC's materials and curriculum for anyone looking to get their little ones interested in and excited about emotional health!
