The Joy Bus diner is such a wonderful place to volunteer for many reasons. Not only do they take great care of the cancer patients they serve, but the volunteer experience is also top notch. Whether its delivering meals to the home bound clients, working in the kitchen, or sharing a meal in the diner among friends everything is done with such love and warmth. The Joy Bus diner is such a welcoming organization and I look forward to continuing my volunteer time with them for many years to come.
What a wonderful place. Such kind people. I delivered a meal for them and plan to do more when I can. The meals are packaged so nice with the flowers and the decorated bags. They are doing great things for the community.
Love The Joy Bus!!! Squeezing oranges and helping out where I could. The people are all very nice. And the food is delicious. Great place with a great cause.
I heard about the Joy Bus Cafe and charity in 2017 through my dear friend, Jan, who supplied the Cafe with her donated jams.
Being a foodie and cook, I was totally impressed with the quality of the food. More importantly, I was blown away by their mission, having just gone through the cancer battle with my husband. It seemed like an idea sent from heaven.
These truly are all angels who have come together to serve the community in a beautiful, loving way.
Much love and support to this mission! ❤️

I have been going to The Joy Bus Diner since early 2017. As soon as you walk in the door it feels like sharing a meal with family and friends. The atmosphere reminded me of childhood memories of sitting down to Sunday meals with my parents and sisters. Breakfast is my favorite meal and you can’t beat the freshness and flavor of the food prepared…especially fresh squeezed orange juice, farm fresh eggs, herbed potatoes and thick bacon. And the bonus, 100% of the proceeds go back in order to provide healthy nutritional meals for homebound cancer patients which are hand-delivered lovingly by volunteers. If you can, add a donation to this well deserved nonprofit business. All of us have experienced directly or indirectly someone who suffered from cancer….and wear a big smile as you walk in or out of this restaurant because you could be making someone’s day who smacked down this disease.
I am proud to say I have been an active volunteer and fundraiser for the Joy Bus for the past 9 years. The gift I receive each week from delivering meals to cancer patients can't be measured! I'm not just delivering a meal, I am blessed to spend time talking and getting to know the patients. I have become a part of their lives and they have become a part of mine, and that brings a smile to my face and warms my heart every time!! The farm to table, chef inspired meals are prepared every week with specific ingredients to help promote a healthy response in a cancer patient's body. If you live in the Phoenix area, or plan to visit phoenix in the future, I ask that you visit the Joy Bus Diner and see for yourself the incredible community at the Joy Bus ... and the food is delicious!! One hundred percent of the profits from the diner help to support the meal program. Thank you in advance for your support. Sincerely, Tim McCauley
I have never been with a group of people that are so willing to do what ever they can to help the joy buss succeed in there mission. I am so blessed that I have found something that I can do that makes a difference in people's lives.
There is so much love and caring at the Joy Bus Diner. I have met so many wonderful volunteers while waiting to pick up the meals I deliver. I look forward to my opporyunity to meet new friends that have the same desire to help people. I am surprised when talking with them at how far away some live and drive in one orTWO days a week to help out and deliver.
Thursdays I squeeze 4 to 5 gallons of OJ in the back. That is when I get to know the hardworkers that prepare and serve the food. The meals are picturesque besides being healthy and delicious. The meals go out to patients in a hand decorated paper bag with FRESH FLOWERS and yummie dessert treats.
The food prepared and served in the Dinner is equally delicious. The Protein Bowl is my favorite. Proceeds from the Diner go to support the program along with donations from the community. HINT.
Come visit the Joy Bus Diner and get hooked
My daughter and I had breakfast one Sunday morning after church at The Joy Bus Diner. I read a pamphlet lying on the table describing their mission statement “to improve the lives of their patrons through good food and company”. I knew then, I wanted to be a volunteer at such a wonderful non-profit organization. They make a difference in so many lives. This organization goes above and beyond caring for the cancer patients they serve. They are making a positive impact in our community.
The Joy Bus physically and emotionally supports cancer patients who need to eat healthy during their time of healing. At the same time, patients are being emotionally uplifted by the active caring of others. New friends who visit, bringing food and words of hope while reducing the feeling of facing the barriers of their health issues alone. Imagine a patient not having to face the task of food preparation when unable to cope with one more task! With the Joy Bus, cancer patients experience a compassionate delivery system of quality meals at no cost to them. Joy Bus reduces stress for patients while they and their families face many added health care expenses to their family budget.
