Such important work. I've visited as well as spoken to them. They are helping a group of people whom are often ignored. The homeless are treated so horribly in the city and resources are few. Furthermore, everyone has a right to death with dignity and the InnBetween to do that to our most marginized and forgotten.
I was a volunteer at The INN Between for a year, having completed my service in July 2019. I loved my experience there. My tasks were minimal but needed at the time. I felt a kinship to everyone who worked, served, volunteered, or lived there. The service to give a home for someone without a home in their last days on earth takes a big heart. That's what I felt there. It was more than shelter, food, clothing, or a warm shower. There was love and caring that took place from the volunteers, the employees, and the residents. Everyone watched out for each other and shared friendship. This is an amazing place, home, and I share my love for it every chance I get.
I have been a volunteer since The Inn Between opened.I have personally wittnesed the caring given by all involved. No one passes alone. Please take the time to volunteer. It will give you an Awsome feeling.
I love being a volunteer at The INN Between. There are so many amazing and worthwhile agencies and organizations in SLC but The INN really stands out. They help bring a awareness to a very serious but little talked about issue within the homeless community. Everyone I have met there - residents, other volunteers and staff alike - have been absolutely fantastic. I love getting to know the residents and hearing all their stories. And the volunteers and staff have really big hearts and genuinely care and believe in what they are doing.
This wonderful Inn fills a need for people who have no where else to turn. The staff is fully committed to providing the best of care for their residents. No one should spend their last days alone. I'm glad the Inn Between us here in our community.
This is much needed facility that helps the most marginalized in our community. I'm very thankful we have The Inn Between to serve those who need it the most.
The INN Between fills a real gap in the services for homeless individuals in our area. I hadn't heard of this great program until a friend told me about it, and I checked it out. The staff is really dedicated to the clients who come there --some to end their lives-- and they really care about each person who enters the doors of The INN Between.
No one likes to think about dying alone, much less on the streets. This is a truly needed, and special program!!
Much needed community resource. They do great work. The administration and volunteers have a great heart!!
As a volunteer at The INN Between I was exposed to homelessness on a whole new level. I am so appreciative of the other volunteers and staff who greatly care about the residents and make no judgement about their past. Death with dignity is not only the INN's mission, but they honor the dying and memorialize every one equally.
I started volunteering here a year ago. I wanted to volunteer at a hospice and by a google search found this one. I chose it solely because it served the under-served. Death with dignity is important to me. Moreover, providing a safe and warm place for someone who is homeless and may have something like terminal cancer for example, still deserves all the honor, dignity and respect as anyone else. It was perfect for me. As with many non-profits, it takes work in simply maintaining the day to day things. There are several volunteer type opportunities here as well which I feel is great depending on your personality and activity level. It has been an honor to be a part of The INN Between and volunteer here.
I have enjoyed volunteering at the INN Between. I've helped cook meals, sort through donations, and run errands. This organization provides an invaluable service to those who would die on the streets without it.
I was made aware of The INN Between over a year when one of my daughters neighbors talked about it at a neighborhood gathering, she was a volunteer at that time. Later my daughter and her family members also volunteered there. This past month I was invited to a tour combined with a support event at the facilities, and the next day a memorial. The event was well organized and attended by a good number of people. I was very much impressed with the over all operation of The INN Between. I had time to meet a number of employees and view the entire operation, it is unique and unlike any support origination I have ever seen. The memorial was well attended and I learned quite a bite about a man I had never met. It was apparent by statements made by this mans friends that he very mush appreciated his stay at The INN Between. This is a very unique organization that offers an opportunity for some less fortunate people to enjoy a little time in a normal family style environment, often at the ends of their lives.
This is a great place and provides an unbelievable service to some of our community's most vulnerable citizens. I recently attended a memorial service for one the residents who passed away, it was a moving experience to say the least. I have also attended their Simple Soup Supper and Casino Night fundraising events, they were well organized and fun in addition to raising money for a great cause. The staff and volunteers are friendly, passionate and their dedication to this great organization and the people it serves shines through!! A truly great non-profit.
The Inn Between is a fabulous organization that serves an important need in the community that isn't met anywhere else. It's so basic at it's core - we all deserve to die with dignity - regardless of our circumstances. Homelessness happens for so many reasons and I think all of us are impacted by it. I know we have been.
The staff is second to none here with their caring and compassion. I feel grateful to be able to support this organization as a donor and board member.
The INN between is one of those places that you don't really think about until someone introduces you to it, and then you think, well yeah, that is something that is really needed.
I have been so impressed with the staff and the well thought out way that the organization has been run. With the budget that they have and being open for just over a year, what they have accomplished is truly amazing. So much so, that I inquired about being on their board of directors as I could see how much they cared and I wanted to be a part of that something special.
