Mission: The mission of the Hydrous is to create ʻopen access oceansʼ so that all people may explore, understand, and engage with marine environments which are severely threatened by climate change and human impacts.
Results: The Hydrous has connected over 2 million learners to the ocean through "virtual dives" using emerging technology and online platforms. Our team of marine biologists, designers, educators, and tech professionals have developed science-based and award winning immersive ocean experiences as well as hands-on learning curricula. We also lead an official program of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science with "The Decade of Ocean Empathy."
