The HSWC is a fantastic organization where every single staff member has a passion for helping animals! I have volunteered with them and been part of their event planning over the years. They truly give everything they have into helping animals in Washington County!
The Humane Society of Washington County is awesome!! They help save the lives of wonderful animals every day. They help people spay and neuter their pets so unwanted animals don't face abandonment or euthanasia. The Humane Society runs with a skeleton crew of amazing employees and many dedicated volunteers. Thank you for all you do!
They have a great spay neuter program that is helping decrease the number of unwanted pets in our community.
Their wonderful foster families have cared for hundreds of cats and dogs. My own sweet girl came from this program so I am forever grateful!
Our Organization serves as a voice for all animals. We go above the norm to help any animal in need, regardless of the County or State they reside in. It takes a Village to become a No Kill community and we need animal loving people to join us. We have a place for you at the Humane Society! Please join us by Volunteering, Adopting, Donating, Fostering a dog or cat in your home, serve on a Fundraising Committee, walk dogs or hang out with the kittens at an adoption event, help trap Feral cats and transport them to the Vet. We have many opportunities available. I am blessed to be able to help many animals due to being a part of this Organization and I would love to have you on our Team!
I honestly can't say enough positive things about our work. Our Organization has changed so much during the past few years. We've went from helping our Community with a low cost spay and neuter program to saving hundreds of cats and dogs through our Foster programs. We now have a TNR program to help Community Cats, a pet food pantry, helping Meals on Wheels, hosting low cost Community Clinic's, and working with Northern Rescues to transfer foster dogs and cats. We also help our local Shelter by transferring dogs to Northern Rescues.
There is a place in our Organization for everyone! It truly takes people from all walks of life to help a Community become No Kill. We'd love to have you on our Team! Go online and sign up to be a Volunteer, share your passion and talents with us and the Animals.
I have volunteered since last year and have loved working with this organization! Everyone is incredibly caring and passionate about helping animals! It's been such a fun place to volunteer and a great community to be a part of.
I am on the Board of this hard-working, active organization. I see first-hand how hard the members of this organization work in order to make animals healthy and safe, and find them good homes. I am also fostering bottlefed babies and the Humane Society provides everything I need for the kittens, as well.
I have been blessed to be a part of one of the most active , innovative organizations I have ever served with. This group of dedicated volunteers have grown from working out of homes to having a permanent place to educate and train volunteers. We have an active foster program, spay neuter, feral and fostering for veterans who need help with their pets while sick or in the hospital. We have many community activities as well as fabulous events to raise money and awareness. The Humane Society of Washington County Tennessee is making a tremendous impact on the health and wellbeing of our fur babies in this area! I am so proud to be a part of such a caring , hardworking group !
Amazing organization. Filled with really passionate people who just want to help as many animals as they can.
This organization contributes to the no-kill ideology in the Washington County Tn area and beyond. The Humane Society of Washington County truly represents an organization whose goal is to better the lives of homeless and needy companion animals. Countless animals are rescued by this organization. Like this little girl below. She was found cold and wet in someone's backyard at five weeks old. She currently is residing in one of the Humane Society's loving foster homes and doing great.
I have volunteered for this society for the past three years. I have always been so impressed with the care and compassion shown by these individuals. They give so much of their time without reservation. Many animals have been adopted through this organization and helpful information to the community is a wonderful service. Please consider rewarding The Humane Society of Washington County for their valuable service to the community.
It is amazing to see what a group of individuals who love animals will do for them. I am so impressed with The Humane Society of Washington County in Johnson City, TN
I began volunteering last year and saw first hand how hard these volunteers work to do their part to prevent overpopulation of domesticated animals. The animals are cared for and the population is educated to help prevent homeless animals. Kudos to this special team of angels.
A truly amazing organization who will go the extra mile to care for animals. This organization is truly a voice for animals.
The Humane Society of Washington County in Johnson City, TN is an absolutely wonderful place with even more wonderful staff members. I had been searching and trying to adopt a Dachshund for a few months when a friend of mine came across their website and a post about a Dachshund mix that the humane society had. After filling out an online application to adopt, the staff members contacted me almost immediately and kept in touch extremely well to insure that I was connected with the dog, Latte. I was pleased immensely with the dedication and communication from the people who work here and I'm so happy that I was able to find them. I love my little Latte and am so glad she now has a forever home with me.
The Humane Society of Washington County works endlessly to rescue and find homes for our community's animals in need. Everything they do is so heartfelt and with an effort of doing what is best for the animals. They have a goal of becoming a no-kill community. The Humane Society of Washington County provides foster homes and medical attention to homeless animals, until they can be adopted out to wonderful permanent homes. They also help provide low-cost spay/neuter to the rescue animals. The staff and volunteers devote hours and hours of time and resouces for this worthy cause. Their work depends soley on private funding, memberships, individual donations and fund raising. Every dollar is used to its maximum.
I am so proud to be involved with this amazing organization- The Humane Society of Washington County. The volunteers are tireless in their willingness to put in hours for animals in our community or to come up with creative ways to raise money to benefit animals. I particularly enjoy the Dogwood/ Cattail ball. I have loved participating in this event within the community. I have also been able to help with setup and see first hand all the hours that go into planning, setup, securing items from the community for auction, and the creativity and dedication that go into planning an event like this. The recent addition of the shop within their building to sell merchandise for animal lovers to raise money to help the animals in our community is a wonderful . I have enjoyed seeing their items set up at various festivals this summer. Also, I cannot say enough about the dedicated fosters that truly save lives by opening their homes to animals in need. I know several of these fosters and they always find a way to take one more. Knowing these animals are safe and loved until they find forever homes is a huge comfort to me. The constant adoption events have helped so many animals find forever home. The Humane Society is truly making a difference in our community with their work and philosophy of low cost spay and neuter.

I first encountered the work of the Humane Society of Washington County when a colleague who knew I liked cats told me about the cat foster program they had started. I’d had cats my whole life but after having my children, I was afraid I had developed an allergy to cats and didn’t have any for 10 years. I was telling him this story and he suggested I look into fostering because if I found out I really couldn’t handle indoor cats, I didn’t have to keep them. I now have 5 foster ‘fails’ and have fostered many kittens/cats until they have found their furrever homes. I also have a dog (for the first time in my life) we adopted from the dog foster program through the Humane Society. The commitment of the staff and volunteers is nothing short of phenomenal. Their dedication is second to none and our community is better for their work. When I see what they do to care for the animals in our community, I am blown away. Their trust and support of me as a foster “mom” gave me the courage to take in a kitten that had been burned and to help him heal. I never would have thought I could do that, but the Humane Society staff and cat committee co-chair never wavered in their belief in me. That’s the kind of people they are and they are what makes the Humane Society such a quality organization.
My experience with the Humane Society has always been very pleasant. The staff is kind, and very dedicated to saving the life of each animal that crosses their path. Our community has been very blessed to have such a great organization like the humane society. They provide so many great services to the people in our area. One example is the spay and neuter program, which makes it possible for anyone in our community to get help with the cost of spaying or neutering their animals. So THANK YOU to all the staff and volunteers at the Humane Society.
This group cares for the animals of our Community. They need more Community members to Volunteer, so more tasks can be accomplished. Whatever your interest may be, there is a place at the Humane Society to utilize your talents.
A great organization to work with. Animal safety and welfare are a priority with them. Fur babies, horses, pigs etc are rescued, fostered ,spay or neutered (another top priority) and are found loving permanent homes. Awesome staff, volunteers and community participation.
The Humane Society of Washington County is a hard working organization dedicated its spay/neuter mission and its foster/adoption mission. The organization has a large number of volunteers and fosters who devote a great deal of their time to the Humane Society's missions. The frequent adoption days conducted by the humane Society are effective to place animals with adopting families. Most importantly, the Humane Society is making it possible for animals to have happy and healthy lives which would not happen without the Humane Society
We lost a dear Shihtzu last year (1 of 4) and it really devestated our family. Early this year my wife noticed a picture of a beautiful little dog on Washington County Humane Society's Facebook page that was up for adoption. We immediately called them and then went in several times to plead our justification for adopting her as we were sure she would be taken to a new home quickly. What a tremendous staff we were fortunate enough to work with in our need for this little girl! The offices were beautiful and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We were fortunate enough to be selected to adopt little Nala and she took to her new home and three sisters immediately. She is the new joy of the family and we couldn't be happier with our Humane Society!
