“Our car crashed through a guardrail, off a bridge and into the river. I performed CPR on my friend, which saved his life. I remember being confused why so many people didn’t offer any help. I knew I needed to surround myself with people in my life who were not afraid to run towards danger…who were not afraid to get their shoes wet…and in the blink of eye could take action. That is why I became a Navy SEAL in the service of my nation.” Welcome to Story Night at The Honor Foundation (“THF”), an organization committed to transitioning U.S. Special Operation Forces (“SOF”) into the world of business and entrepreneurship. There were many defining moments shared that night which shaped the lives of these unique individuals. I was part of this ‘tribe’ as a volunteer Executive Coach--along with mentors, employer partners, Executive Sponsors, and SOF alumni--seeing for the first-time the world-class curriculum that was specially crafted into this 120-hour, 15-week program to develop their unique skills and talents toward a new purpose; an evolution of their life’s purpose. The breadth of topics and the quality of the presenters, from UCSD and UCLA professors to industry experts, has been outstanding: Change Management, Emotional Intelligence, Leveraging Strengths, Resume Building, Networking, HR and Entrepreneurial Panels, Mock Interviews, and much more. Having worked with hundreds of executives in transition, these are resources that my clients, and in fact EVERYONE, could use to ensure a seamless transition from one career to another. So what’s it like to work with these elite individuals? In a word, humbling, and I mean that in two ways: 1) The “Fellows” who participate in THF are very humble about themselves and their accomplishments, many coming from small towns across America and 2) The more I learn about them, the more I am humbled and in awe of what they have done and what they can do. Since I have been a volunteer coach, THF has morphed from one campus to three: San Diego-CA, Norfolk-VA, and Hampstead-NC. And for those SOF team members that don’t live in those three locations, THF is creating a virtual training platform that be accessed anywhere. It’s the perfect time to expand our corporate leadership based on trust, integrity, and authenticity. THF is doing that.
A complete disappointment — don’t waste your time.
If you’re a transitioning Navy veteran hoping The Honor Foundation will actually help you, prepare to be let down. This organization is supposed to guide and support veterans as they move into civilian life, but what you actually get is a whole lot of fluff, buzzwords, and empty promises.
The program is poorly structured, painfully generic, and feels more like a corporate networking club than a meaningful support system for real veterans with real needs. They throw around words like “brotherhood” and “mission,” but when it comes down to it, you’re on your own. The mentors are hit or miss—some clearly just want to pad their résumés, while others are so out of touch with the military experience, it’s laughable.
Job connections? Useless. Resume help? Google does it better. Real-world advice? Nonexistent. They act like they’re doing you a huge favor by letting you in, but don’t be fooled—it’s mostly a self-congratulatory echo chamber.
If you want real support after serving your country, look elsewhere. The Honor Foundation might have a nice logo and slick website, but when it comes to truly serving veterans, they fall embarrassingly short.
The Honor Foundation is truly remarkable. The skills you learn through the cohort will change your life's trajectory. It is a comfortable space to allow yourself to be vulnerable and really grow as a person. The techniques and guest speakers I met through The Honor Foundation brought a lot of value to my professional career.
When I applied, I had already heard what a great organization this was and how earnestly they work to help SOF veterans transition from service. But WOW!
Actually going through a cohort as a fellow blew me away. Everyone at THF really cares and it is obvious in their attitudes and the quality of the program.
This is what transition assistance should be. I came out of my cohort so much better off. Because of this program I am confident in my ability to provide value and find meaning outside the military. I have a network FOR LIFE of people like me and people who want to work with people like me.
11/10, life changing. Thank you, THF.
THF prepared me for life after the military and put me years ahead of where I would have been on my own.
The HONOR Foundation provided me the confidence to transition successfully after 9 years of service through their wealth of mentorship and unique approach to the challenge of a transition. I would highly recommend this organization to any SOF veteran. You will learn more about yourself, how to network properly, and grow throughout the process. This is a low-threat environment that gives you the tools you need to excel no matter what phase of life you're headed into. Thank you sincerely.
This program is a life changing experience for service members that is unmatched. The people who run and are part of the program provide priceless mentorship and education.
Thank you to The Honor Foundation for the continued support during and after transition from military service!!!
I retired from the Marine Corps after 20+ years of faithful and honorable service spending 10+ years in SOF. While I think the Corps and time in SOF trained me to be successful in anythinG, I admit I was not as prepared for transition from service member to civilian as I had imagined.
The Honor Foundation gave me the tools for transitioning that I needed to be successful in my transition. The Staff are born from the same fabric of professionalism that are accustomed to Fortune 500 companies. The Fellowship is life long and I cannot wait to give back to this Non-Profit organization to continue the support to transitioning service members.
After nearly 22 years of service, 12+ in SOF, by far the most frightening part of my career was retiring. Before I was a fellow with The Honor Foundation, I thought I knew how I was going to navigate the transition. As I went through the process and once I became an Alumni I realized just how severely underprepared I would have been had I not attended this foundation.
I will never be able to thank the staff that lead my cohort! I know I have SO much more to learn as my transition continues but I feel astronautic-ally more prepared for the next chapter of my life because of the what I learned and the network I gained from The Honor Foundation.
I cannot wait to give back to this organization in anyway possible.
Thank you to all the staff, volunteers and donors that made it possible for me to utilize this great Foundation.
Hello all,
I am a recent graduate of The Honor Foundation, Group 88. The experience was and continues to be powerful! Ending a 30 + year career in the military brings about such a surge of different challenges as well as emotions. Being involved in a program of such high caliber as The Honor Foundation provided an amazing environment that was filled with people that genuinely care for the welfare of all participants, to practice and fail, practice more, getting better every time! It truly allows every participant the greatest chance for success in all endeavor.
Thank you Honor Foundation!
I decided to get out of the navy last minute, didn’t have a clue!
THF gave me a community and resources that allowed me to turn what would have been a crapshoot into a progressive career step that benefited both me AND my family!
The Honor Foundation is an amazing organization that provides outstanding support to transitioning service members and veterans. THF’s transition program provided me with the resources and skills to confidently and successfully transition from military to civilian life. It is a program I cannot recommend enough!
I’d prepared and planned on fully retiring at 45 years old post-Military career, until I attended The Honor Foundation. THF helped me realize that paying down debt was the easy way to answer a hard question… What’s next?
Throughout the course I realized that I needed a sense of purpose and that the years of leading and mentoring others DOES bring value to my community. THF also provided me with the tools necessary to successfully plan for transition, not just my transition from Active Duty, but any transition that I face down the road.
I am forever grateful to THF. A year later I have a meaningful career, operating within my strengths, in line within preferences I defined… my family and self worth are thriving because of it…. Sitting at home idly watching the world go by was never in the cards for me and I personally feel Special Operators who’ve served a greater cause most of their life all feel the same way deep down.
If you are thinking about getting involved and want to help instill confidence in folks who’ve sacrificed years protecting our freedoms please visit honor.org there are several ways to assist and believe it or not, you’ll gain from the experience as well.

The Honor Foundation has set the standard for transitioning SOF service members. The course simplified my transition from 25+ years of active duty service in Special Operations through detailed readiness process. This is not a job placement… it’s a program that will provide you with confidence and skills that will assist in whatever future endeavors you may have - continuing education, starting a new career, entrepreneurship, retirement, etc…
If there’s one thing I learned over the course of my career is preparation and planning are key to successful operations; career transition should be treated the same!

An excellent foundation that helped me personally prepare for my transition from a 20 year Force Recon Marine to my first job in defense technology. Unlike so many of my peers, I felt well prepared and supported during my transition into my first job outside of the military. Even a year into my new role I still visit and seek guidance from my coach and the other staff members at THF.
THF is everything that TAPS should be but falls short on. The faculty end staff are awesome and genuinely care about the Fellows. If you’re looking for a program that “walks the walk” without any of the lip service, then this is the program to be in.
THF took a “completed” resume that another nonprofit helped me build and made it a great resume that gave me an excellent starting point. They even took the time to get spouses involved and on a path for success.
The Honor Foundation (THF) is an exceptional organization dedicated to helping U.S. Special Operations Forces transition from military service to civilian careers. As someone who has experienced their program firsthand, I can attest to the profound impact THF has on its participants.
From the outset, THF provides a structured, comprehensive curriculum that addresses every aspect of the transition process. The program's holistic approach includes career coaching, resume building, interview preparation, and networking opportunities, ensuring that participants are well-equipped to navigate the civilian job market. The emphasis on personal branding and leadership skills is particularly valuable, allowing veterans to translate their military experience into terms that resonate with civilian employers.
One of the standout features of THF is its dedicated and knowledgeable staff. The instructors and mentors, many of whom are veterans themselves, bring a wealth of experience and understanding to the table. Their commitment to each participant’s success is evident in the personalized attention and guidance they provide. This individualized support fosters a strong sense of community and belonging, which is crucial during such a significant life transition.
Furthermore, THF’s extensive network of corporate partners and alumni creates unparalleled opportunities for participants. The organization’s strong relationships with a diverse range of industries facilitate meaningful connections and potential job placements. The alumni network, in particular, is a testament to THF’s lasting impact, as former participants remain engaged and eager to support new graduates.
The Honor Foundation also excels in fostering a growth mindset among its participants. The program encourages continuous learning and self-improvement, instilling a sense of confidence and purpose that transcends the transition period. This focus on personal development ensures that graduates are not only ready for their next career but also poised for long-term success and fulfillment.
The Honor Foundation is a transformative program that empowers U.S. Special Operations Forces to thrive in their post-military careers. Through its comprehensive curriculum, dedicated staff, and robust network, THF provides the tools, resources, and support necessary for a successful transition. I wholeheartedly recommend The Honor Foundation to any SOF service member seeking to navigate the complexities of civilian life and career advancement.
The Honor Foundation helped me step closer to finding my “why” and introduced me to an incredible network of transitioning service members. I did not feel alone in my transition and felt empowered to continue serving beyond the uniform.

The Honor Foundation helped me overcome my fear and anxiety about leaving the military in the midst of a pandemic. I have tried various transitioning programs but none brought as much diversity and experience as The Honor Foundation. THF did not write our resumes for us, but guided us. They did not tell us what we would be good at, but introduced us to a vast network from various industries for us to explore. We learned more about ourselves and how to tell our story. Our confidence grew and we celebrated one another’s milestones and accomplishments. I can understand why our book is called Bearings, because THF truly is a compass. THF gave us all the materials and tools to be successful and left it up to us to design our blueprint. Knowing that I am not alone on this journey has made all the difference.

Thank you, MK! We can not wait to cheer you on in your next adventure.
Without this organization God only knows where I’d be. The training and prep I received over 4 months directly contributed to landing with a truly one of a kind company. Forever grateful for the opportunity.
Absolutely one of the best transition programs that’s out there and a phenomenal phenomenal Network for transitioning veterans. The unbridled support from the honor foundation for life is second to none.
The Honor Foundation is a stand out resource, helping those with a background in special operations find purpose after their illustrious careers.
My personal story encompasses a transition, not only out of the military, but across the country as well. The Honor Foundation helped me find purpose after separation, write my first resume, practice interviewing, connected me with people in a variety of industries and when I decided to move, THF linked me up with the local leadership in my new destination for continued support. Their support is comprehensive and follows alumni throughout the entirety of their careers.
The alumni network is another notable piece. The Honor Foundation sticks with transitioning service members long after their actual separation date. The alumni network is robust, and always available. This network not only provides value to the member, but it also allows that member to give back to those who come after, providing another layer of fulfillment.
Following 31 years of service within the Marine Corps, inclusive of a tenure within the esteemed Special Operations Community, the transition to civilian life posed an uncertain trajectory. However, clarity emerged upon my engagement with The Honor Foundation, an institution distinguished for its adept guidance and unwavering dedication to the holistic development of each participant and their unique aspirations.
What distinguishes The Honor Foundation, elevating it to a realm of distinction, is the enduring camaraderie fostered among its alumni and faculty, extending beyond the confines of the program itself. The perpetuation of this network is evidenced through ongoing discourse within our Slack channel, wherein former and current service members convene daily to exchange insights, seek counsel, explore employment opportunities, or engage in talent acquisition endeavors.
The ethos of The Honor Foundation transcends mere educational or vocational pursuits; it embodies a collective commitment among warriors to uplift one another. My continued affiliation with this esteemed community serves as a testament to its enduring impact, for which I remain profoundly grateful.
I was given the distinct honor of being selected for The Honor Foundation (THF) face to face program. Having participated in other similar programs I can say, without a doubt, THF is the best, most comprehensive military transition program I've seen. They gave me the tools to help figure out what's next. Between the experts they brought in to guide us thru everything from Finding our Why to interviews and resumes, the staff and curriculum were outstanding. The program and the process have given me the tools to move into my next chapter and they will always be there if ever I need a reset. Simply incredible, bar none!
I am a 24 Navy Veteran who went through the Honor Foundations program in San Diego last year. The work that the Honor Foundation does for Veterans is life-changing. Transition out of the military is highly challenging. THF helps us navigate that process in a very effective way that takes the guesswork out and enables us to thrive in our future careers. Their curriculum is well-refined and gives us access to a vast network of professionals in various industries and roles.
I am eternally grateful for the support provided by The Honor Foundation during my transition from the military. They played the most critical role in this significant life change, offering unparalleled resources, guidance, and mentorship. Their dedication and expertise are unmatched!
I cannot recommend The Honor Foundation (THF) highly enough for the unparalleled support and resources it provides transitioning Special Operations Forces (SOF). THF is committed to fellows and alumni well beyond the program creating an extensive network of SOF and corporate partners. The doors that were opened by attending the program are making my transition smoother and increasing my ability to succeed exponentially.
I am grateful to THF for giving me the tools and confidence to chart my own path in my next professional chapter. I am forever thankful for the positive impact THF has had and continues to have in my life.
THF is an awesome organization that provides top notch transition mentorship for special operators! Cannot recommend enough!
Quite possibly the best resource for transitioning veterans. The amount of knowledge and genuine support that The Honor Foundation provides is unmatched.
THF helped me so much throughout a very uncertain and new endeavor that I was embarking on in my life; transition. I felt super supported, understood, and provided with the best tools and coaching a transitioning service member would ever need to be succesful post service. Thank you THF!!!

The Honor Foundation not only gave me tools for when I exit the military after 12 years of special operations experience. They gave me a comfortable place to discover who I really am with a room full of people with similar experiences who wanted the same thing. Something that could not be replicated in any other setting.
- Sean P. McNamara, G88, EOD Operator
THF gave me all the tools I needed to help me figure out the start of my next chapter in life after retiring from the military. After doing something I love for 20 years and finally having to give it up, I’d be lost and wouldn’t know what to do with myself without the support of THF. I truly cannot thank you enough!
THF is an incredible organization focused on preparing the transitioning special operations forces service member for the next part of their Journey post Military. It helped with the anxiety of navigating the civilian workforce and Corporate world. The network that they have built with the greater corporate community in the area and proven coaches is unmatched!
THF helped me capture and translate my years of military experience into an actionable plan to make the leap to the corporate world with confidence. Of the variety of military transition programs that I leveraged, THF was by far the best in terms of quality of education and services as well as my overall satisfaction with the end product--ME, ready for my next adventure.
I went through The Honor Foundation Cohort Group 81. It was excellent learning experience; I highly recommend the program to transitioning SOF members.
The Honor Foundation (THF) is an amazing military transition program for Special Operation Forces (SOF) members. The insight from the staff, the volunteer coaches and mentors, and THF alumni are what make it work. Everyone has a journey to take and the team is always there for you no matter the direction the journey takes you.
I enrolled and graduated in the spring 2024 Camp Lejeune cohort. Professional from start to finish, incredibly well networked, and support during and after - not just lip service!
I was personally blown away by the breadth of network that THF has hooks in. I casually brought up my musical aspirations - now I’m in touch with studios, boutique amp builders, ‘90’s one-hit-wonder phenomenons, Nashville songwriters, New York jazzers, venue owners, and several event coordinators. Going into it I never thought for one second that THF would be capable of pushing in alternative directions like that - I was pleasantly and completely surprised
Before I began my journey with THF I had no idea what I wanted to do post military. Throughout my experience I not only found out what I wanted to do, I found out more about myself and what’s important to me. Not only did I gain this valuable insight into myself, but through THF I was also paired with a mentor who assisted me during and after my time there, was given help writing and re-writing my resume, mock interviews to better prepare for what industries are looking for, and a network that is truly there to help you with whatever you may need. I feel way more ready and confident in my military transition and it’s all thanks to THF. I really couldn’t give an organization a higher recommendation. Thank you THF!
The Honor Foundation (THF) provides world-class experience to our nation's most talented as they pivot towards private industry and their next careers. From my experience (COHORT 25) THF is a true self-growth and personal development masterclass. Additionally, THF is "future-proof" by having access to the network and talent once you become an alumni for the rest of your life.
Conversely, THF provides employers with direct access to the type of workforce talent managers and recruiters dream of. These service members have the intangibles that are lost in resume parsers and online applications. When you partner with THF you get access to the best personnel accelerator out there but it is like everything else in life you get back what you put in. Find a THF Alumni or contact them and get involved!
Navigating transition can be a daunting task, especially after years of military service. THF has built an exception program that helps bridge the gap between military and civilian life. It is well-designed to equip SOF veterans with the essential hard and soft skills needed to successfully segue into their next career. Additionally, having a lifetime network of peers and mentors who understand your story and can walk you through the process is invaluable. I gained a lot from my time there, and could not recommend it enough to the people coming behind me.
THF is an amazing organization! They absolutely helped me, and many of my friends tackle the tough transition coming into the civilian sector from a long career in Special Operations. They ask nothing of us as a community and give exponential amounts of time, talent, and energy to help vets make meaningful and long-lasting contributions to the corporate world and the country as a whole.
The Honor foundation is an incredibly generous and professional organization aimed at boosting personal and professional success of Special Operations members post service.
I had a great time, learned a ton, and.got exposure to concepts and people that I never would have otherwise.
Incredibly grateful for The Honor Foundation.
The Honor Foundation was truly life changing, so much so that I jumped at the opportunity to give back to the SOF community by working at one of the campuses. I would have been lost in my transition without THF. I recommend this to every Special Operator about to make their transition to the civilian sector.
I had an incredible experience that completely changed my transition! I highly recommend that you apply today and support this organization. The help they offer to veterans is unparalleled. I cannot stress enough how much this organization has aided me on my journey to civilian life. From their guidance and assistance to the resources and connections they offer, I am genuinely grateful for everything they do. If you are a veteran seeking assistance, please do not hesitate to contact this organization - their support can make all the difference in your transition!
After my lackluster experience with the DoD transition assistance program, I felt a bit drained and discouraged about getting out. To be honest I was unsure about doing ANOTHER transition program, especially a 3 month one.
Some trusted colleagues who had gone through THF encouraged me and I applied.
However, my lack of enthusiasm immediately did a 180. This was everything promised and and more.
I am forever grateful for the time and effort of the staff, coaches, volunteers, and companies that come together to make such a unique and fulfilling experience. These people care and it's apparent.
This isn't just a transition program for SOF veterans, it's a network for life. SOF taking care of each other.
This is the gold standard for nonprofit work as far as I'm concerned.
Leaving the military after dedicating eight years of my life to the Navy was both exciting and daunting. As I faced the uncertainties of transitioning into civilian life, the Honors Foundation provided an answer to the fears I was having, they offered unwavering support, resources and best of network of people facing the same task. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the organization which played a pivotal role in facilitating my successful transition. THF welcomed me and provided a sense of belonging during a time of need for me. Their dedicated team members, many of whom are veterans and veteran spouses, personally understood the unique challenges of transitioning from military service and created a supportive environment that fostered personal growth and development throughout the cohort. One of the most remarkable aspects of the THF was their commitment to find who you are and what you are all about. They recognized that each transitioning service member has unique skills, aspirations, and challenges, and they pushed us to explore and dig down and find what is was that we could provide and what we really wanted to do after service. From resume building and interview preparation to mentorship opportunities, they provided invaluable guidance at every step of my transition journey. THF recognized the importance of networking and facilitated numerous opportunities to connect with professionals from diverse industries. Through their extensive network of partners and mentors, I gained exposure to various career paths and had the chance to learn directly from successful individuals who had successfully transitioned themselves. These connections opened doors to new possibilities and expanded my professional horizons. Beyond career-oriented support, the Honors Foundation placed great emphasis on personal development. They offered workshops, seminars, and training programs designed to enhance critical skills such as leadership, communication, and adaptability. These opportunities helped me grow not only as a professional but also as an individual, preparing me for the challenges that lay ahead. The support from the Honors Foundation didn't end after my transition; instead, it continued to be a reliable presence in my life. They provided ongoing networking, coaching, and resources that ensure that I had a strong support system and the ability to give back once your successfully transition. This sense of continuity made all the difference and boosted my confidence as I navigated into a new venture in life.
THF provides a fundamentally transformational experience for fellows as they prepare to transition from public service to the private sector. The classes, coaches, and staff give fellows remarkable tools and insight that far surpasses DoD's Transition Assistance Program. The benefits do not stop there - while we graduate feeling prepared to meaningfully contribute to the private sector, THF also emphasizes that service to country, society, and the greater good is also critical to a successful transition. I am immensely grateful and humbled for the opportunity to go through this course, and will continue to help the organization - for life.
They don’t ask you to change who you are - they help who you are, take the next step in you career. They do it graciously, respectfully, and efficiently. Can’t recommend it enough.
I began my relationship with The Honor Foundation (THF) six months prior to retiring from Navy Special Operations. I felt like I had no idea of the direction I wanted to go after I retired. THF completely changed my outlook and helped me discover and define what I wanted the next chapter of my life to be.
I was able to develop a LinkedIn profile, refine my resume, and connect with professionals that I would not have otherwise been able to connect with.
I can’t describe how much more confident I feel moving forward and it’s all thanks to The Honor Foundation and the network of volunteers and staff available to help at a moments notice.
THF journeyed with me through the process of getting to know myself better as I near military transition, so I discern more clearly between what I want to do and what I think I need to do. My next steps to meet my short term goal, five year and 10 year goals are in place.
THF, ensured I had the skills and tools required to get a job in a competitive market after my time in the service. Amazing program with amazing people!
This organization has been truly pivotal in shaping my transition process. The US Army has taken great strides to assist service members as they retire, but there are still large gaps in the process to help find that next 'purpose'. This is where The Honor Foundation comes in. THF is brimming with amazing volunteers and staff that are dedicated to helping SOF veterans switch gears from military service to a life of purpose after taking off the uniform. I now feel confident and capable of translating my strengths forged in combat, into a corporate boardroom or entrepreneurial adventure. Thanks so much! Cohort 68. -Nate-
As a grateful graduate of The Honor Foundation, I cannot recommend this organization enough to fellow veterans who are transitioning out of Special Operations Forces (SOF) and into civilian life. After serving 23 years in Naval Special Warfare, I was anxious about finding a civilian career that valued my experience, skill sets, and culture. The Honor Foundation provided our cohort with the tools, resources, and networking access to find our individual calling in our next career.
One of the most impressive aspects of The Honor Foundation is its focus on resilience after transition. This organization understands that SOF veterans are not just seeking a job but a sense of purpose and the opportunity to enjoy that which they have protected throughout their careers.
None of this would be possible without generous donations of funding and time from participating companies, organizations, industry professionals, and entrepreneurs. To everyone who donated or volunteered to make this opportunity possible, my family and I thank you!
As someone going through a medical board process the build up of anxiety was overwhelming of uncertainty. Having just finished the traditional transition course provided by my service my anxiety felt worse as the amount of information given in just 5-days was impossible to process. Luckily a great friend of mine recommended “The Honor Foundation” to me. At first, I was skeptical as I didn’t want to go through another transition course only to be left with more questions. The Honor Foundation, its amazing staff, and volunteers quickly proved how dedicated, caring, and valuable they were to ensuring we all succeeded in our next chapter of life. From the self-reflection exercises to the most in depth process of figuring out what I want to do after the military, The Honor Foundation is what I needed in my transition journey. My anxiety turning into optimism is all credited to “The Honor Foundation” and I would recommend this program.
I had the pleasure of participating in The Honor Foundation's program, and I can confidently say that it was an exceptional experience that prepared me for my transition out of the military. The program's curriculum and resources are tailored to the unique needs of Special Operations Forces personnel, and I found the guidance and mentorship to be invaluable.
Throughout the program, I was provided with a wide range of professional development opportunities, including one-on-one coaching, workshops, and networking events. The Honor Foundation helped me to translate my military skills into the civilian sector and provided me with the tools to succeed in my post-military career.
I highly recommend The Honor Foundation to any SOF personnel looking to transition out of the military. The program is well worth the time and effort, and the support and guidance you receive are invaluable.
Gave me a clear vision of my transition from the military. This is an excellent organization that truly takes care of their people and customers.
The impact that this program had on me and my family is not measurable. I’m now in a role I never thought was possible when I was still active duty. THF flipped the script in my own head about what I was capable of, what I truly wanted and what I was meant to do in a purpose driven life. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of something so incredible and I consider it an honor to call myself part of the THF alumni tribe.
After 8 years active duty and no degree, I left the course feeling so confident, that i had the tools to excel in the civilian world. The instruction, coordination, volunteering, and people in the organization are top notch. Everyone truly wants to give everything they have to make sure you have the tools to succeed.
Absolutely phenomenal organization. I took everything THF taught me and was able to land 5 job offers for various positions across the technology field. The resume coaching, interview prep, salary negotiations, networking, and prioritization techniques taught in the course paid dividends for me then and will continue to be useful throughout my civilian career. They also continue to help veterans for life, years after participating in a cohort I am benefiting from this great organization. 10/10 would recommend.
I am a client-served turned donor, based on the quality of this program. I was in the midst of my transition when I heard about THF. I hesitated on my next steps and started to feel the lows of leaving the military. THF surrounded me with other high-performing folks allowing me to feel more comfortable with the transition. The program helped me realize and communicate my why, what, and how for life outside the military. I am beyond grateful for what this program does. Without it, I wouldn't be as satisfied as I am with the transition from service.
As a proud The Honor Foundation (THF) alumni, I am compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experience with this exceptional organization. THF's dedication to guiding U.S. Special Operations Forces through the challenging transition from military to civilian life is truly unparalleled. Their comprehensive and well-structured career development program has made a profound impact on the lives of countless servicemen and women.
The mission of THF is noble and inspiring: to serve others with honor for life. Their commitment to ensuring that every participant's next mission is as clear, purposeful, and impactful as their military service is clear in every aspect of the program. The support network and resources provided by THF are invaluable in empowering participants to excel in the private sector and become the next generation of corporate and community leaders.
One of THF's most impressive accomplishments is the vast network of over 1800 alumni and 450 dedicated mentors who are ready to guide and support current and future participants. This network has proven to be an incredible resource and fosters a strong camaraderie among its members.
My personal experience with THF has been nothing short of transformative. The program gave me the tools to succeed in the private sector and build a vast network of connections and support. The staff and volunteers of THF have consistently gone above and beyond in their dedication to the participants, and their passion for making a difference in the lives of those they serve is truly inspiring.
The Honor Foundation is an extraordinary organization with a vital mission. I cannot express enough gratitude for the impact it has had on my life and the lives of countless others. I wholeheartedly recommend The Honor Foundation.
I was beyond impressed with this program. The professionalism of the staff, the highly relevant curriculum, and generous outreach of after hours mentorship made it an invaluable experience. The Honor Foundation gave me the tools necessary to be successful in my military transition, which I would have struggled without. This was a life-changing experience that I will never forget. Thank you THF!
I often joke with my civilian friends about how getting out of the military is like getting released from prison. No that the military is has been a negative experience (quite the opposite) however, veterans are going from the known (knowing where they need to be, what they need to wear, who to talk to, etc...) into the unknown. For instance, I am 48 years old and have never done a formal job interview until I was fortunate enough to participate in The Honor Foundation's program. Their program has been life changing and I don't fear getting out of the military anymore. They have prepared me to step out of my comfort zone and into the civilian job market and even more importantly, I am more confident than ever that I will successfully find a purpose and work culture to thrive in after my retirement from active duty.
Amazing organization that truly enhances and prepare Special Operations members to explore their potential for its implementation in the public sector. You cannot ask for a more robust and well diverse organization.
Phenomenal program geared towards helping the highest performers in the US military find meaningful work in life outside of the military.
The professionalism and commitment from THF staff is beyond impressive.
Transition from the armed services is a feeling that can't be described and only others who have been through it truly understand. The Honor Foundation has been able to pair some of the best veterans with private sector leaders to help bridge that gap and create a network like no other. Their emphasis on introspection vs just finding a job is what truly separates them from others and creates a program with no equal.
Game Changing! The Honor Foundation shed light on what I thought to be a dark and scary path of transition. It turned anxiety into optimism. I discovered strengths, interests, and motivators about myself that I had never truly reflected on. I leveraged the THF staff's expertise to further scope my direction for my post-military life. Dedicated, Energizing, and Engaging - THF is top notch.
THF is An amazing program that walks us thru an in depth process of leaving the military and joining the civilian sector with confidence. I realized when I finished the program that the world was my oyster and I can take the skills I’ve learned over my 20+ year career and apply them to almost any job. I am no longer scared to enter the next chapter of life thanks to the THF program and the brotherhood that supports it.
My experience with The Honor Foundation was simply amazing. The staff and course instruction was top notch. The volunteer speakers and coaches were some of the best people I could've hope to have met and we were able create lasting relationships. Overall, I feel that The Honor Foundation sets the standard for what the military transition process should look like and I hope that they continue with this fantastic program.
I cannot praise this program enough. It gave me the tools, resources, network, and confidence necessary to successfully transition from military to civilian life. The tailored curriculum and personalized support from mentors and staff truly set this program apart. Unlike other Veteran support programs, THF goes deep into finding meaning and purpose in the next stages of your life post-military. Then going deep into a plan on how to achieve that purpose. You share and learn from people who have truly incredible stories and want to keep serving out of uniform. It was an incredible experience, and I am forever grateful for THF's commitment to serving our nation's Special Operations Veterans.
THF was a great program for me to think deeper about the why of what I wanted to do after transitioning out of the military and how to make that happen practically. It also built a network of alumni to share with and seek support from after the program. Highly recommend.
I came to The Honor Foundation hoping for some extra information that I couldn’t read online or get from a variety of other courses. I’d attended two other transition courses that people raved about but I only felt lackluster towards. To say that my expectations were exceeded with The Honor Foundation would be a gross understatement. Not only were the classes and sessions well planned with true expert teachers/proctors but the support from the staff was second-to-none! They challenged even the most accomplished person to get the most out of the transition period to best find not only a job, but a purpose outside of the military. I felt more educated, more prepared and more confident to transition out of the military and into a new career. Since finishing the program, I’ve attended multiple events they have sponsored and continued to stay in touch! This is a non-profit that really means the support is for life! Thank you The Honor Foundation!
I spent 14 years in the SEAL Teams. It was the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life and an honor to serve. Unfortunately, and despite my best personal efforts, I found myself generally unprepared to re-enter the civilian sector.
The Honor Foundation was instrumental in my transition physically, mentally and spiritually. I cannot over emphasize the gratitude I have for the people and support they provided to my family and I, for FREE!
I believe THF should be mandatory for every member of the SOF community, it is that important. You don’t know what you don’t know… until you graduate and become a THF Alumni for life.
Everyone involved is truly dedicated to seeing all of the veterans live their best lives after transitioning from a military career. I have and will continue to recommend the program to everyone I talk to.
Great experience working with these dedicated volunteers. Transitioning from the military is daunting and should be undertaken with the same seriousness as our missions. Unfortunately, many service members do not. I highly recommend working with The Honor Foundation to help figure out your best fit for civilian occupations, preparing for interviews, finding out your strengths and weaknesses, learning to speak civilian, and gaining access to a wide ranging network of professionals you otherwise would not. Set yourself up for success.
I came to the Honor Foundation in the midst of several major surgeries as I prepared to depart the military. The team not only provided education, they created a community of fellow veterans who had similar experiences that encouraged me throughout the recovery process, gave me pointers, and reminded me not to wallow in self-pity. The material they provided was top notch, covering everything from life outlook, interview skills, salary negotiations, and managing major transition issues. I still stay in touch with the THF community, and recommend them to each and every fellow service member I meet.
Hands down one the most important steps you can take when transitioning from the service to civilian life is to plan for your future. The Honor Foundation does that in spades. The special operations community has far more relatable skillsets and desired talents than most service members realize. Helping to bridge that gap, THF is dedicated to its mission in assisting veterans of this community find meaningful contribution and opportunities to excel once they depart from the service.
The Honor Foundation cohort experience was LIFE CHANGING and I am forever GRATEFUL!

I just finished going through the Honor Foundation program and I couldn’t be more pleased. From the professional staff to the extremely valuable content, the Honor Foundation has set me up to transition from the military to the civilian world. I am writing this while sitting in the Army’s mandated Transition Assistance Program and the difference is night and day. I would highly recommend this program to all transitioning SOF personnel.
The Honor Foundation was the hands-down game-changer for me in my transition. Everybody I know that is preparing for transition, I intensely recommend them to THF. When I started the program, I had no idea of what to expect, and I really thought that I had Military-to-Civilian transition figured out as much as I needed to. I had the confidence to do it but lacked awareness for the things I should be thinking about. The personal coach that I was assigned was a key part of the process and remains a mentor and confidant six months after I graduated. There are companies and people out there that highly value the work ethic and expertise of our SOF people. And finding the next mission can be an easy-button move to the first company that knocks on the door. But the THF formula prepares us (SOF vets) to think and prepare to make better, informed, and impactful decisions. The THF program and its people are first class. I am indebted to THF for the absolute treasures it provided and I will seek to pay that forward by extending my good fortune my other brothers and sisters that deserve to transition well; for themselves, for their families and for the other warriors following behind them.
I didn’t know I needed The Honor Foundation until I started it. The THF program, run by some of the most professional people with whom I have ever worked, and facilitated by the best in their field, gave me a way to better define my direction, my passions and interests, and my why. I wish this type of transition program was available and accessible to everyone who has served in the military. It fills a gap in a way that only THF can fill it. Thank you.
I want to extend my deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Honor Foundation team. The teachers, coaches, and mentors are all top-notch professionals that exceeded all my expectations for what was possible. Their tireless and coordinated efforts kept pushing me to grow and smoothed out the bumps in the road.
I would not have been able to progress through the transition process with such success without their input and feedback. The THF team really set conditions for me to thrive and have enabled my graceful transition after 21 years of service. Thank you for the phenomenal program!

With 30 years as a Navy SEAL and a CIA Officer, I was apprehensive and unsure how to transition to a public sector position that was commensurate with my experience. A Navy friend recommended me for The Honor Foundation (THF) program and it was a life changer! The Honor Foundation staff, course content, guest speakers, and especially my coach, helped me to assess my strengths and my passions. Not only did THF lead me to the perfect job, but I gained an invaluable network of like-minded teammates for my future. I highly recommend this program!!
THF has the most in-depth transition program AND the most supportive mentor and alumni program that I have seen. They started by building a foundation (finding your why) and from there develop your personal and career development on that. They have developed a great curriculum. Every class is very well organized and their cadre is first-rate. I cannot say enough about how well this organization prepares transitioning patriots for their next careers.
The Honor Foundation is an incredible organization setting up transitioning veterans to thrive in their post-military life. And yes, I said LIFE, not post-military careers. The process, as many of the other reviews have noted, is a full spectrum approach that focuses on discovery, proliferation, and purpose. It gives veterans an opportunity to get real answers to questions and concerns about the private sector, and more importantly, how to navigate through it without succumbing to the pitfalls and missteps that so many others have experienced. The team at THF are true teammates who believe in bringing out the best in you! This is not some lip-service veteran support organization. They are the real deal!
As I was approaching my transition I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do after my service was over. Success was defined as me having any job that let me keep my current standard of living. My initial plan was to take part in the required transition courses offered by the Army and apply for jobs that matched my experience in the Army. That was the literal extent of my transition based knowledge.
Thankfully I was introduced to The Honor Foundation early on in my process so I was able to take part in one of their cohorts. They extensively covered every conceivable aspect of a transition with their 3 months worth of classes. This included helping me discover what I really wanted out of my transition instead of just finding a job to fill the income gap. To this end they also taught us how to tell our stories in a captivating way without heavy use of military jargon so that we could communicate what value we brought to the table.
I am still in my transition, but now I am more confident that I will be successful in finding a position that better suits my, and my family's, needs. I owe this confidence to the teachings and guidance provided by the staff and coaches at The Honor Foundation.
The Honor Foundation is an amazing organization and a true gift to the transitioning members of the special operations community.
The staff and curriculum are top notch and their dedication to serving others is what make this such a special organization.
My transition out of the Navy would not have been the same without them and am truly thankful I had the opportunity to be part of one of the cohorts.
The Honor Foundation (THF) is an amazing organization. As a recent graduate of Cohort 42 I can attest that this program better prepared me as I transition from a 24-year career in US Army Special Forces/Green Beret. I highlight my time in Special Forces because throughout my career I have been to numerous schools, training exercises, 12 deployments, and 27 foreign countries all of which I was fully prepared for. What I was not prepared for was my transition from the Army to civilian life. The Army has the transition assistance program, but it does not truly prepare you for the move to civilian life it only ensures you fill out all the documents needed to get out of the Army.
THF provided me the guidance and tools needed to be prepared to move into the civilian sector. While most transition programs just focus on job placement THF focuses on you on an individual level. How can you take a position when you do not even know what you want to do? That is what sets THF apart they begin with you and help you understand your, “Why.” Once they provided me with a better understanding what drives me, I was prepared to receive the needed tools to begin transition. From communication classes, story telling techniques, to resume development to just name a few. From there they assisted me by putting my Why and tools into practice with Mock Interviews and practical exercises homing in those new tools. Finally, they are partnered with world class leaders in the industry providing a Virtual Trex through corporate organizations to have a look on the inside of the company life to better understand what is out in the civilian sector. Culminating in a graduation ceremony where I was prepared to move into the next chapter of my life.
I would be remise if I did not explain what I feel was the most impactful portion of the program which was the cadre of executive coaches and THF staff who truly guided me through the program. Including my assigned mentor/coach Guy Hart of Plus Delta Partners who was the most impactful portion of the program for me. The fact that a CEO of a successful company would take hours out of his week to coach and mentor me was amazing. His insights and guidance were crucial in my preparation for my step into the civilian sector.
I will wrap this up by saying that The Honor Foundation is a great Non-Profit who truly gives Special Operations soldiers the guidance and tools needed to transition back into the world.
Froom the joke we all ask each other in the community, “What are you going to do when you grow up,” I can say now I can answer that question and I am ready for whatever is coming my way. Thank you to the Honor Foundation and all who support it.
I retired in 2017 after a 30 year career in Special Operations.
It was two years prior to that date that things got “real”. Real in the fact that things were about to change forever.
The Honor Foundation(THF) was my starting point on making that transition. I graduated with cohort 11 and can say it was the best thing that happened to me.
They walked you through a process of learning about yourself, working in the civilian sector, and getting ready for life after the military. This was accomplished with true professionals at every level of the THF.
It is awesome seeing it continue to grow and helping every service member grow after their service to this great country.
The Honor Foundation was the best part of my transition back into the civilian sector. Both as a Special Operations Aviator and a 28-year U.S. Army veteran, I work well in challenging environments and enjoy creatively solving problems. However, The Honor Foundation (THF) allowed me to take a deep introspective look at myself and rediscover my dreams outside the military. The majority of fellows enrolled in THF hails from the Special Operations community and receives world-class help throughout the process. I cannot stress enough how valuable this program has been to the Special Operations community and me personally. Please consider attending this program if you are from the Special Operations community or donating to this impactful program.
The Honor Foundation is a TOP TIER transition program for Highly Skilled and Leadership driven team players! Any business organization should really consider opening up their schedules for a “cup of coffee” and see the benefit of these professional caliber future employees.
Don’t hesitant to join THF !
I had no intention of following a traditional career path following 27 years of military service. I made that clear to the folks at The Honor Foundation when I applied because I was concerned that my desires were out of sync with the offering. Not only did they assure me that I was wrong, they then adjusted individually to make sure that they were meeting my specific needs. I was even more impressed with what they were able to do for younger, less experienced service members. From individual coaching to connections to the syllabus, THF is a first rate, learning organization.
I joined the military straight out of high school because I wanted a greater sense of purpose and challenge. The service grave me that and much more. As I started my transition, I was intimidated by the cooperate world and figured I would have to start from a mid to low level position to prove myself to employers. I found other transition programs were solely trying to put service members in jobs, but not truly assess the entire person for a cultural fit. THF absolutely changed my way of thought and gave me the confidence to to go after Fortune 500 companies with great success…..THF helped polish my experiences and gave me the confidence to go after companies and roles that better aligned to my skill sets. Their program also paired me with a one on one coach who helped me navigate what it truly means to network outside the military. THF gave me the skills, the confidence, and the continued resources to transition. I can not say enough great things about this program and the staff!
When I started my transition I tried working through it on my own. I found my self putting my resume out to anything that seemed reasonable and not getting responses. I had some ideas of what I wanted to do next but I was struggling with the process of being another resume next too 100 other applicants and how to differentiate my self. I decided to work with the Honor Foundation in their transition program. This program was so much more than I thought it was going to be. I was very fortunate to work with my coach, Susan Demelo, who helped guide me through the ups and downs, keeping me on track in the schedules and processes we made, and finding companies and roles that fit my strengths. The Honor Foundation provides continued support, resources and helps every individual build their skills. In my personal experience this program helped me find the perfect fit and I was able to find a position at an amazing company. I would highly recommend this program!

Thank you for the kind words, Alumni21!
The Honor Foundation played a tremendous role in my successful transition from 20 year Marine into a senior leader with Amazon. Plainly, I could not have done it without them. While the military offers significant support via its various TRS offerings, none are truly tailorable to the individual (just too many customers to serve), certainly not for those looking for a very specific/unique second career; THF expertly filled that gap. The personalized care, fitted plans and advice, SMEs, and networking and experiences the THF provides and exposes its fellows to is second to none, bar none. And best of all, it's free to the veterans - a value that, if used to its fullest, would be found immeasurable.

Thank you
THF absolutely changed my life! The self-awareness, sense of community, and unwavering support catapulted my transition and helped me get through dark days. The leadership team is 100% committed to serving the SOF community and their dedication shines through in every single thing they do!
