Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: The mission of the Harford Center is to provide individualized services to Harford County adults with intellectual disabilities, by utilizing programs that facilitate personal growth and development for each individual.
Target demographics: Adults with intellectual disabilities
Geographic areas served: Harford County, Maryland
Programs: Day Program - the center provides service programs and training to persons in need of rehabilitation due to mental and/or physical handicaps.
Supported Employment- is about the dignity, responsibility and joy of holding a job and earning a paycheck. We help people find what they like to do, wherever that may take them. We think outside the box and work together with individuals, their families and communities to create opportunities for people to realize their dreams.
Transportation Program - the center provides transportation to and from the facilities for its clients.
Personal Supports Program- this program is highly individualized and services are based upon the person-centered plan developed by the individual along with his/her team. Most people supported by this program are adults interested in greater access to their communities. Staff provide assistance with daily living skills, community inclusion activities, access to health care and other community-based services.
