This school opens up new worlds of thought and practice for a student willing to take it seriously. I'm enjoying it immensely. I never enjoyed philosophical studies much before but the way that this is framed and the fascinating subjects we get to delve into make philosophy fun. There is more here to learn than paranormal studies, especially in the sciences, and I'm learning a number of skills that are extremely useful both in magickal and nonmagickal practice. I would recommend this school to anyone that wants to expand their way of thinking and do a deep dive into magickal philosophy and skills.

When I came to GSW, I was hoping to find like-minded people; instead, I found a new family. I love GSW. You are never alone; there is always someone to help you when you don't understand. The facility and students make you feel welcome and let you know that you are part of something real and exciting. The classes are self-paced and whether day or night I can always my studies done. I also love the various communities that have been presented to connect with others. I love going to the virtual campus and moots and other activities. I can't wait for a chance to go to see our school in person one day.

I’m currently an apprentice at the Grey School of Wizardry, and it has been an incredible experience! This school offers a unique opportunity to study esoteric topics that you won’t find in ordinary schools. With 16 departments covering a wide range of fascinating subjects, it’s a treasure trove of knowledge.

Beyond the academics, the school provides both a physical presence with occasional gatherings and workshops, and a vibrant virtual environment filled with plenty of study and leisure activities. There are clubs, contests, lodges, challenges, and even a unique game and tournament exclusive to the school.

The Grey School is more than just a place of learning—it’s a thriving community of wizards dedicated to spreading wisdom and exploring how we can serve and contribute to the world. I’m proud to be a part of this magical community!

The Grey School of Wizardry is truly a luminous beacon for esoteric learning and community building. With a vast, unmatched array of departmental offerings and a faculty that is studded with educators of the highest caliber, Apprentices are granted access to minds and materials that cannot be found elsewhere.

The secular nature of the school catalyzes inclusivity, and the self-paced approach to class completion fosters accessibility to any and everyone willing to put in the work. I could not recommend this school more highly.

I originally decided to give the GSW a shot because, at $30 a month, worst case scenario I lose the equivalent of an uber eats order. But during that month of taking the courses, meeting people, and speaking with the instructors, I ended up sticking with it! It's only gotten better since I joined, with a virtual campus in second life, a developing physical campus in white hall, and new members occasionally, and I am very glad to be a part of it! The courses here are in a much more grounded-in-reality style than some others I'd seen, grading is quick, feedback is thorough, and you could ask your fellow apprentices for help at any point, or even the instructor! Since my time, a week-long free trial has been added. Give it proper effort, and I'm sure you'll see what I mean by the time that week ends!

You don’t have to get on the Hogwart’s Express to enjoy a Magickal Education. So many esoteric subjects taught, so little time, Herbology, Wizardry, Dark Arts, Divination, Ceremonial Magick, the list goes on and on. You can learn at your own pace, no deadlines and the professors are awesome, know their stuff and always willing to help and guide you through your studies,

While many would consider attending a school of wizardry a frivolous and practically valueless pursuit, I can say that I got a job with an astrology library and bookstore with my diploma from The Grey School of Wizardry. I actually got a job with it! I even wrote and self -published a book! What I learned was useful in my daily life as well, such as problem solving and issues with self-esteem, in addition to the fun of taking courses in dragon lore and ghost hunting. Working for my diploma at the Grey School was such an enriching experience, and I am proud to wear my class ring for Defense Against the Dark Arts (I included a photo of my final ritual, displaying some of the items I used for/created in my classes, and I video I made for "Alien Invasion" - Invasive Species class).

Watching The Grey School of Wizardry evolve over the past two years has been nothing short of inspiring. The improvements to the curriculum, the expansion of virtual learning tools like the vGSW scenarios, and the continued development of the Highspire campus have all contributed to making this school a vibrant, ever-growing community of learners.

Being the lead at Magick Alley has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Connecting with apprentices, helping them find the tools they need for their journey, and witnessing their excitement for their studies has deepened my appreciation for what this school represents. Highspire, with its beautiful grounds and yearly conclaves, has become a cornerstone of connection and tradition—a place where ideas flourish and bonds grow stronger.

These changes haven’t just benefited the school; they’ve enriched my own life in more ways than I can count. The sense of community, the joy of shared purpose, and the chance to see so many people grow have been genuine gifts. As we move forward, I feel nothing but optimism for what lies ahead. The Grey School continues to light the path with wisdom, curiosity, and integrity. Here’s to even more growth, discovery, and wizardly camaraderie on the road ahead!

If you're someone who's fascinated by history, myth, and the deeper meanings behind things, The Grey School of Wizardry offers something you won't find anywhere else. It's not a fantasy role-playing thing—it's a legit educational experience. Imagine blending critical thinking, esoteric traditions, and practical skills in a way that challenges your worldview and encourages personal growth.

The school covers everything from lore to leadership, and you're taught to approach ideas thoughtfully and responsibly. It's geared for adults who want to learn more about themselves, the world, and how they can make a difference in it. The virtual campus and immersive scenarios also add an interactive element that keeps things interesting.

The vibe here isn't about escapism; it's about empowerment, knowledge, and building a community of people who think deeply and act wisely. If you're curious about alternative ways of understanding the world and you're willing to put in the work, GSW is worth checking out.

Been with the school since 2019. Technologically speaking they have drastically changed the way things operate. They migrated to a modern web stack, expanded the virtual school in second life, and put more effort into discord and email communications. All great things to facilitate education.

Unfortunately not much has changed in terms of the content. After the original head master departed and passed the position to the current head master, things have turned into more of an academy. They expanded in the content that would give them the right to be an official school. Many retired or moved on.

I would much rather go to a college to study Botany, Chemistry, or Medicine. Their learning paths on Wortcunning, Alchemy, and Healing Arts are archaic.

The real Metaphysical education is found in the Dark Arts and Ceremonial learning paths. Despite this, their learning paths on Stage Magic, Bardic Arts, and Beast Mastery makes it look like a circus.

Ultimately, something that was designed for homeschooling teenagers has transformed into some wacky pseudo school of alternative education.

I am thoroughly enjoying my experience with the Grey School of Wizardry. I have been a solo practitioner of witchcraft for several years now, and wanted a more organized structure to my studies. GSW has not only provided that structure, but has proven its worth many times. I've found a community here, which was so much more than I had expected. I've made several friends through GSW, and love participating in the frequent group activities that the School provides. The lessons themselves are incredibly informative, and there's plenty to keep you interested! I have more classes that I want to take than I have time to do it. The instructors and professors are extremely knowledgeable, and are committed to the success of their students.

To sum up, I'm having a blast and learning more than I expected.

I am in the 6th year/level of study with Grey School and I have had the opportunity to hold Apprentice Leadership positions multiple times over the last few years. Grey school has helped immensely in growing my ritual-work, my leadership-skills, my ability to communicate in an empathetic and advisory role with my communities- business, personal/family, magickal, etc. I have found through studying at Grey School oportunities and synchronicites with other educational and academic personal pursuits such as becoming open to learning ways to work with the different beings I spend time with - bees, chickens, cats, herbs, graveyards, and many other intresting aspects of life. I have nothing but good to speak about when it comes to Grey School. It has been a fantastic experience enrolling and I have enjoyed the learning that has come with my doing so!

An extraordinarily rare and valuable resource in the field of education. My relationship with the Grey School goes back over a decade, and includes many fantastic tales and adventures of mind and heart. Just as all institutions of learning, GSW has evolved over the years, and it is good to see a new generation of academics and explorers take up the mantle as they progress through the school's apprenticeship programs. I am struck by the contemplative quality of the school's modern courses. It sincerely champions a unique marriage of the ancient and the modern in a way that is easily-accessible for the new or young learner, while at the same time offering limitless discussions of highly nuanced or complex topics for the more experienced enrollee. On top of this, the school's physical campus is always expanding and continually involved in community matters and volunteerism. This dovetails with the school's detailed curriculum to provide an overarching learning experience that is holistic, varied, and quite fruitful. I very strongly encourage anyone interested to reach out to a faculty member or a member of the school administration. Everyone is very friendly, understanding, and dedicated to professionalism.
Without any reservation, The Grey School of Wizardry is a most excellent nonprofit organization, and a worthy contender among the ranks of the best there is.

As a recently enrolled student, I've found the content at The Grey School of Wizardry to be well above par as the classes are very interesting and the instructors very knowledgeable. Some of my favorite classes include Dragonlore, Shadowlore, Ethics of the Dark Arts, The Invisible Wizard, and Safety and Use of Herbs! I'm very new to magickal practice and the studies at GSW are easy to understand and apply quickly!

Some of the required classes detail expert use in making altars, Pantacles, and wands. Other great classes include Core Energy Practices and the Defense Against the Dark Arts series! If you are looking for experienced instructors to detail the intricacies of magick, look no further!

In addition, GSW adheres to academic standards, requiring Apprentices to cite their sources and eschew plagiarism. Coming from a strong academic background, I appreciated knowing my skills from college and the university would transfer to GSW.

Another interesting facet is the Apprentice life, where students can become part of the community engaging in monthly department challenges, receive merits for their lodge for extracurricular activities, and attending lectures and meetings! Some lodges put on game nights and others have emotional support groups. No matter what kind of social interaction you might be missing in the mundane world, there is a good chance to capture it here at the Grey School.

As a current student at the Grey School of Wizardry, I've found it a unique and vibrant institution that brings ancient wisdom to modern learners. With 16 departments offering diverse subjects from Beast Mastery to Wizardry, the school provides a rich tapestry of knowledge and an opportunity to discover your own magical calling.

While the learning is primarily online, the school hosts weekly Discord chats that foster a strong sense of community. The faculty, a delightful mix of quirky and serious, are deeply passionate about their craft and committed to student success.

One of the school's standout strengths is its commitment to diversity and inclusivity. It's a place where every student is valued and welcomed. Although the course website could use an update, it's a minor issue given the school's transformative experience.

My journey with the Grey School has been more than academic; it's a personal voyage toward understanding who I want to be, both as a Wizard and a person. For anyone interested in Wizardry, community service, and self-improvement, I heartily recommend the Grey School of Wizardry. It's a beacon of magic in a world that truly needs more Wizards.

The Grey School of Wizardry is primarily an online school dedicated to teaching Wizardry to apprentices of any age, at any educational level, covering a broad array of topics grouped together into sixteen departments, ranging from psychic arts, to natural philosophy, to mathemagicks. No matter what your background in magick may be, there is much to learn at the Grey School of Wizardry.

It is obvious that the school was designed nearly twenty years ago to cater to children and teenagers, drawing from the Harry Potter trends. However, especially recently, the school is geared more and more towards adults, while still being accessible to a younger crowd. If one approaches learning at Grey School with an open mind, the same assignment that a fifteen year old would complete hastily as "just another essay," can be completed with much time and thought invested, and will yield greater rewards this way. The quality of feedback from instructors is currently top-notch.

The school is designed to be at-your-own-pace, so one can dedicate as much time and energy as they choose, and pick and choose what kinds of classes to focus on. As a college graduate (B.S in Biology), I can attest that "you get out of it what you put into it" is more true at Grey School than at the university I attended. It is clear that every faculty member is committed to the growth of each apprentice who enrolls at Grey School, and the hiring process appears to focus on mastery over subject matter as much as ability to teach and inspire.

One can compare the teaching at Grey School with that of a university in the United States, in terms of quality, breadth and depth of subjects, and the passion of the instructors. A key thing to keep in mind, tuition for an apprentice is $30/month or $300/year, and follows a structured 7-level program; the magister program is $40/month or $400/year and is a more a la carte style program. Even at $400/year, this beats any community college or state university by a long shot. Add in that you can get by with a single softcover textbook for about $20 as the required textbook for the entire school, augmented with online resources, many of which are accessible for free, and it is financially much more reasonable to attend Grey School to explore learning, rather than enroll in a college just because it is more socially acceptable.

The experiences had, lessons learned, and skills developed have practical applications in the real world, beyond theoretical magickal practice. An entire department is dedicated to Wortcunning (herbalism), and focuses on growing or harvesting plants, using them in cooking recipes or for other practical purposes, and the safe handling of the plants. Another is dedicated to the psychic arts, which can be boiled down to meditation and mastery of one's own mind, a skill which is helpful no matter who you are or where you work. It is also a big deal that the community at Grey School is an inclusive, welcoming one, with people from all walks of life, and all religions, around the world, interacting on a daily basis through the school website, forums, and Discord server.

Grey School has a lot to offer the public, and I encourage anyone interested in magick to at least look at the webpage. It is NOT for everyone, but the qualities that make an apprentice and the school a poor fit tend to be lack of motivation and lack of an open mind on the part of the apprentice, rather than the quality of Grey School, its teachers or the individual courses. As Grey School moves into the future, expanding their physical campus and their online offerings, I expect great things out of the school as well as the wizards coming out of it.

The GSW is an excellent institution for the study of arcane knowledge. To some, it may resemble Hogwarts in certain ways, but in reality, it is not the better place for those seeking the fictional experience of a wizard. Instead, it caters to those with an interest in the anthropological and esoteric aspects of magic, which encompass not only classes about magic but also science and various other subjects. The professors are exceptional! Headmaster Kingsley is highly competent and has done an excellent job in continuing the legacy of the School's Founder Oberon Zell-Ravenheart.

I know… a school of wizardry? Yes. But stay with me here, because it’s not what you think.

It’s more.

I joined this school in 2019, just out of curiosity and thinking it might be fun. What I found was an amazing group of people and a serious curriculum of study that far exceeded my expectations. (And yes, there’s been plenty of fun as well!) Classes I’ve taken (so far) at Grey School include Conceptual Quantum Physics, Natural Philosophy and Ethics. I’ve written essays on leadership and alchemy and meditation, and I’ve learned how to raise my own energy and quiet my mind.

Would you like a deeper exploration of the cosmos? Are you curious about the mysteries of the universe or the magic (and magick) of nature?

Could you use a little more enchantment in your life?

You’ll find it at Grey School.

Yes, we have lodges and merits, a fun nod to the wizards of pop culture. We also have monthly challenges and meet & greets and moots. This social aspect of the school is one of the reasons it works so well, and it’s how I’ve been able to connect with, and learn from an amazing group of people from all over the world.

Grey School is completely secular, self-paced and autonomous, meaning you can be as involved (or not) as you choose. But since this is my two cents, I’ll also say this: you’ll get back tenfold what you put in.

I certainly did. And I am a better mom, wife, neighbor, human and yes, a wizard for it.

The collegiate learning and practice environment within the school is inclusive in a way that leaves no doubt that you are supported. Within it's walls I have found a group of welcoming and like minded folks where all are truly welcome, that is a rare and beautiful gift in this world. I am challenged at every step in my learning and expected to delve further and think harder than I ever have before. There is no bar to my learning, no pre existing relationships or connexions I should have or posses - just a willingness. This school has done so much for my practice. Inspiring me to take steps in learning and research that I likely would never have done prior. Even before entering the school, the idea of it spurred me on to developing a working knowledge and skills necessary to do this kind of work.

I began at Grey School almost 10 year ago (with an extended break in the middle). I have kept coming back for a few reasons. The first reason is the atmosphere which is ever-present at the school. Yes, as other reviews have mentioned, there can be a child-like or light-hearted feel to certain aspects of the school. The school does have youth enrolled, and their ability to access and understand the course work is important too (and who couldn't use a bit of light-heartedness in their life?). The school supports multiple ways for the attendees to engage one another, if desired, and also to engage with the faculty. And the great part here - the faculty always are willing to engage right back! I would have to agree with other reviewers here - you would get out of this experience what you put into it. If you engage with your fellow enrollees, ask questions of your faculty, get involved in the fun of the lodge competitions, and otherwise engage with the goings-on, you will find an amazing community to be a part of. While you can just do your coursework, and there is almost no requirement to engage with the rest, I think you would miss out on other learning and the experience as a whole.

The breadth and depth of the material covered in the coursework is another reason. With 16 departments and hundreds of courses available, I can easily get lost in all the interesting courses available to me. Not only are new courses and paths being added regularly, but the material of existing courses are being reviewed and updated as well. I have gone back and retaken courses, just to get the updated material! When I have had questions, I have found all the faculty to be knowledgeable in the subjects they are teaching.

Give this a try, you won't be disappointed!

I have to say I was a little skeptical when I started at the GSW, because it seemed to be school for kids and I wondered how serious it was. However, the fact GSW has 16 departments and a wide offering of courses within each department I quickly learned this is a school for adults and serious lessons for learning magick and its associated topics. After a month in, I new this school is for real and teaches Wizards how to actually apply the magick they are learning about. The professors are sincere in their passion for students and teaching them. Better yet, the GSW teaches Wizards to better themselves, serve others, and be a force of good in the world. If you want to be like William Wallace who supposedly consumed his enemies with "fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his ****" then no school of Wizardry will help you. If you want to learn about practical applications of real magick - the GSW is for you!

For wizardry this school is amazing. They offer more classes than I can realistically take and quite a variety for your major/minor too. There are required classes, but the Professors make them fun. The school is small enough that you get one on one attention and your questions or comments get answers within one or two days, usually. The community on the forums is small, but I like it. They offer ways of communicating with each other through the forums, a Wix space, and a Second Life Campus. I found that the community makes taking all the classes worth it, plus you get a little extra help from friends who have been there before. The exchange of information, knowledge, and expertise is what keeps me going through my seven levels. Right now, I'm almost Level 3 and loving it. I totally recommend this school to anyone wanting to get serious about learning wizardry!

I love this school so much! It’s a great way to learn everything about wizardry as well as other esoteric studies. You can choose a major and a minor once you hit level 2 which is extremely cool. The teachers have always been very very helpful when you are stuck on something you don’t understand.

Dear Draven, Your enthusiastic endorsement is truly uplifting! We're thrilled that you've found joy in our learning environment. Your journey into wizardry and esoteric studies is exactly why GSW exists, and your words encapsulate what we strive to offer our students. The option to choose a major and minor at Level 2 allows our students to tailor their learning paths to their interests, and it's fantastic that you find this feature "extremely cool." We might even say it's the "Bee's Knees!" Knowing that our teachers have been instrumental in helping you when you feel stuck speaks to the dedication they have to your success. We value the opportunity to guide you and all of our students in unraveling the mysteries of wizardry and beyond. Thank you for your kind words, and may your curiosity continue to lead you to growth. I absolutely love this school. As an adult, it may look 'childish' at first -- but maybe thats because you're disenchanted? Take a closer look. The Grey School of Wizardry provides VERY deep studies of the metaphysical world of myth, magick and other arcane arts.

The faculty and student leadership is fantastic and the virtual campus is absolutely stunning.

We need more enchantment in our lives. This is what makes The Grey School so amazing. Not only does it bring magick to the heart, but it also teaches you the very foundations of what magick is all about and helps you to build on that foundation one level at a time.

I couldn't be happier with The Grey School, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

My experience with the Grey School of Wizardry has been very pleasant, contrary to recent reviews. I have found the course material not only engaging--but enlightening. It is important to note that this school has a philosophy on which it is based. The idea of a wizardry apprenticeship is just that. It is an apprenticeship. The school treats Wizardry as a trade. As such, there are rules and requirements that you must meet to obtain your Journeyman certificate. Wizardry--as a trade--calls on us to do more than just have personal practices. We are called to serve our communities. Like the Wizards of lore, we are trained not only in the occult--but in personal and community relationships, the sciences, history, and more. This school aims to provide a well rounded foundation upon which the Journeyman Wizard can venture into the world and apply what they have learned to everyday life situations. (Magisters are excused from the Wizardry rules and are free to take any courses regardless of the course level.)

As far as the content of the lessons not being engaging--or *gasp* being childish--well...you get out of it, what you're willing to put in. The lessons are indeed written in an accessible way--so that our youth apprentices can access them. As an adult, if you enroll in this school, be aware that you will be expected to engage in the content in a more in depth way. You would be well served to be able to research and develop a deeper understanding of the content than what would be expected of a youth apprentice. As I said, if you put the work in, you'll get something out of it. If you go into lessons expecting information to be handed to you on a silver platter--well, that's not what Wizards do. Sorry. If you want to go out and do research to learn--that's a perfectly viable way to learn about the occult. If you like--or need--a bit more structure, guidance, and a gentle nudge in the right direction as well as feedback on your grasp of the concept...that's what this school provides.

As far as a link to Harry Potter, and a "Fandom" based philosophy, well...it's there in appearance only. There is no Harry Potter fandom, and the only real parallel between the HP universe and the Grey School of Wizardry is a four lodge system (for adults, youth only have one lodge). The idea behind the lodges is to provide some friendly competition (we compete for the lodge cup--points are earned when classes are completed or merits can be earned for engaging with challenges), as well as to sort the apprentice and magister bodies into smaller groups that are managed by student leaders who help guide apprentices on their journey through the school.

I'll also note that every single one of our instructors are active members of the occult community and while they may not have graduated from a higher learning institution (many of them actually have) they have demonstrated leadership and knowledge and life experience in the occult. Many of them have their own businesses, are authors, and work for several magickal organizations. The implication that the instructors are some haphazard group of know-nothings is laughable. The headmaster of this organization--who approves faculty hires, many of whom he has personally recruited--is a world renowned wizard and one of the fathers of the modern pagan movement. As a matter of fact--he coined the term Neo-Pagan.

There are also several ways to connect with faculty and the apprentice body. There is an app that allows mobile access to the forums as well as the forum chat. There is a private discord that is active and lively. There is a virtual campus with weekly meet-ups as well as moots at the Sabbats. The magister or apprentice who finds themselves lacking in connections, hasn't taken the time to do their research or attempted to make those connections themselves. I can't express how much these ways of connecting have helped me--and others in the school--to feel connected over this past year when so many of us are isolated due to the current pandemic. Grey School has provided the ability to meet and talk much like you would at a pagan festival or ritual--albeit in a virtual setting.

I'd also like to mention that new and more challenging classes are constantly being added, including occasional real-time zoom classes and classes on the virtual campus. They are always looking to build curriculum and engaging content.

I am proud to be an Apprentice at the Grey School of Wizardry and look forward to the journey ahead as I earn my Journeyman Certificate and venture into the world as a working Wizard.

I thought this would be a great way to learn new information as a practicing witch, but this is a school for novices and kids who are Harry Potter fanatics and it's pretty hard to take seriously. I signed up as "Magister" and found it to be overly simplistic with a lot of arbitrary information. The "classes" consist of a few lessons. In fact, the entire class can be printed out on 2-3 pieces of paper. A "lesson" is: You read a few sentences, then write about your feelings or write a story and the lessons are written at a 6th grade level (some with grammatical and spelling errors). There is a lot of paper writing and I have a real issue having people grade my papers who have never attended an accredited university themselves. In fact, only a handful of the "Deans" or instructors have attended college at all- and I don't consider "Yoga University" a credible institution. I'm not looking for therapy or someone to tell me how to think. I was looking forward to forums, but there is little to no participation on the forums by students or instructors. When you sign up for a class, you wait for approval before you can start and sometimes you wait for days and days. Questions remain unanswered by instructors and "house" leaders. "Prerequisites" are repetitive and extraneous. I paid $300 for a year but after only 2 weeks, I'm done- and there are no refunds. It's ridiculous. Would be a great project for kids, but not for serious adults who are interested in the Craft and are looking to expand knowledge.

Dear Anonymous, I'm sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with GSW. Here are some points addressing your concerns: Course Content: Our Apprenticeship program is designed with seven progressively advanced levels of study. The first level, introducing the fundamentals, does require completion of 12 credits. As an Apprentice progresses, the complexity and rigor of the curriculum increase from the second year onward requiting 26 Credits as well as a major and minor. Instructor Credentials: We appreciate your concern about formal academic qualifications. It's worth emphasizing that our faculty comprises individuals with diverse backgrounds, many of whom are renowned experts in their respective fields. Their wisdom, experience, and passion for teaching bring a richness to our curriculum that contributes positively to the learning experience at GSW. Refund Policy: I will review our policies to see what can be done to better accommodate pupils. Sincerely, Headmaster Kingsley

If you are looking for a reputable school that teaches Magick, the occult and wizardry? Do not waste your time at Grey School of Wizardry. I speak from personal experience on the things I'm about to share with anyone who is considering wasting their money on this school. Don't do it. It's not worth it. First off, they control every move you make. You are not entitled to express your own opinion or think for yourself. The administrator and the owner of the school have made up some rules of Wizardry that they only follow when it suits their best interests. With all the rules and restrictions you are almost better off attending a Christian church if you like being restricted in everything you do. They also took 30 dollars from me and refuse to give it back even though what happened that made me change my mind about attending the school was NOT my fault. Stay away from Grey School unless they decide to make some serious changes and start treating PAYING students with the respect they deserve. You are far better off going on your own and reading books and researching online. That is what I ultimately ended up doing and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in studying similar topics. Also you can buy both Grimoires created by the Grey Council on Amazon and get most of the material taught in the school for a one time price for each book instead of paying monthly to be treated childishly and with disrespect.

I strongly encourage any readers of this review to take a look directly at the GSW website. I have been studying various types of metaphysical concepts for over a decade. I feel challenged by the content. The grimoire that was written by Oberon Zell is a masterpiece. It's written in an approachable tone. The content is clear and rich. The grimoire is required for most classes. The forum presence and faculty is strong and helpful. I really wish I had found this place years ago!

At first I wasn't sure about entering the school. It was compared to Hogwarts multiple times and it looked a bit like a wannabe Harry Potter project. Don't get me wrong, I like Harry Potter, but I'm not a fanatic. So I decided to first read the Grimoire for the apprentice wizard, a book that is used in many classes that are offered at the Grey School. I really enjoyed it. I'm a pagan myself, my path has a lot in common with eclectic Wicca. I've been a practicing witch myself for a while now, and I can assure that this is not the Hocus Pocus nonsense I thought it might be, it looked a bit fluffy. But I've learned great things that I haven't read in the most popular books in the pagan community, like the ones from Scott Cunningham for instance. The staff is so nice and the whole interaction thing with other students is so much fun.

There are many challenges and even auctions besides the learning aspect. To reward those who get good grades, help the community or do anything else worth rewarding. There is a digital campus as well and every now and then there are conclaves in which students gather and have like a camping type of thing for a couple of days. But before attending the Grey School, I would definitely first read the Grimoire, to know how a lot of the classes are written. Not everyone will enjoy learning in a school/college like environment.

I love being here, it's definitely worth it if one would like to learn more advanced things about magick.

Me and my wife have been students at this online school of Magick for three years. Although the school is designed for children 11-18, we like most adults enjoy the quality, practical classes here. Essay-based, classes cover a wide range of subjects from the liberal arts such as Astronomy, Latin, Grammar, Nature Studies, Ancient Greek/Roman Lore, Knitting as well as more modern subjects like Herbalism, Holistic Healing, Tarot and "Defense against the Dark Arts" (dark natures of ourselves). Of course, some of the classes seem strange like "Vampires", but they actually look at Vampires in Myth and Legend and what we can learn from them. Very practical courses with learning in mind.

The faculty here do a wonderful job of challenging you to do your best with course content from subjects that have been long abandoned by public schools. Their goal is to train Wizards (Wise Ones) to help the World. In essence, they try to bring the wisdom of the ages to young people (and old) so that they may grow personally, change their communities and become better for it. I know we have, and we will never leave this wonderful school!

In the future, we plan to help as much as we can to get the word out about this school. It is truly about Quality, not Quantity. The school has been open for 10 years and we hope to enjoy ten more.
