Programs: Members' programs, information, and services to promote the effectiveness of gwp member grantmakers, including developing and hosting briefings and educational programs; hosting and facilitation of funder networks; developing and distributing resource information (e. G. Informational e-newsletters, website content, provision of sample documents demonstrating best practice); monitoring legislation and public policy affecting philanthropy (e. G. Tax treatment of charitable deductions); benchmarking research and responses to members' inquiries upon request.
grant-supported special projects to promote the effectiveness of member grantmakers, such as educational programs with content experts and other presenters; grants administration of jointly funded charitable activities; and grant-supported activities that strengthen gwp's member service (e. G. Upgrading gwp's website and data management).
programs and services that serve the broader nonprofit and philanthropic communities and the public, such as sponsoring "meet the grantmakers" programs; service on greater pittsburgh nonprofit partnership committees and activities serving other greater pittsburgh area nonprofits; service on advisory committees of national initiatives to build philanthropic infrastructure; provision of the common grant application and report forms; and responding to inquiries from grantseekers, nonprofits and the public regarding philanthropy data, fundraising and the charitable sector.
