First off I really like this place and I found the workers nice and helpful. My only complaint is there pricing system. I saw that red coded items were $1 so I got excited and found way more than I expected to buy. Problem was that their color coding system has numerous colors and my issue today was that all the stuff I thought was red was full price because they used a red pen or at the least an orange pen that was a shade off of red, but I saw red. I get home and my stuff which I added as I went to keep track of my bill the bill was $80 instead of $35 I expected to pay. I'm pretty sure they don't do refunds because I had an issue once before where they over changed me rang an expensive item up twice and it was verified and the worker said yeah we can't do anything about that. I'm not going to quit going but a quick sharpie correction could have saved me $45
My sister & I just had a yard sale and was out thrift shopping for our upcoming camping trip. I placed the purse in the cart I was using that I had borrowed from my sister( mine broke earlier) while there, I received an important call from my son regarding a family issue.my sister seen some jackets of interest. She she g0ave me her purse to hold while trying on the jackets, and I just held the purse on my shoulder to make the lo g story short I walked out the store and my sisterreached her handout for her purse back and I realized that it was her purse I wS holding not mine.immediately I went back in the store and I seen the cart we had by the register area.i asked about the purse in the cart and the employee said yes we put it in the back I'll go get it. She was back there for a long period then she came out giggling saying I don't know I don't know. I went outside to relay this to my sister and she went back inside upset. A male worker came out and told us we had to wait til tomorrow when management was there because he didn't remember where he put the purse . We found out later that he lied to us, he was actually one of the managers. We kept calling repeatedly, and nobody knows what happened tomy purse.in my purse was my yard sale money that I earned in the amount if approx., $435.00 harges has been filed against the male manager whose name we were given as Alex for theft. So if you go to this store be careful with your belongings and I don't think I would feel safe as a customer to present any credit or bank cards to them .who knows if maybe they might copy the acc .number and driv.lic down and use for fraudulent activity
SENIORS BEWARE; Terrible customer service. Front desk team needs training. They are not trained well enough to accept donations for pick up from your house; This happened today:
1) I ordered a pick up and prepared the items, using my energy and time to have in order for a seemless move. Preparation meant moving furniture.
2) I went to the store to schedule the truck. I told the front desk exactly what they were picking up and that the table /Desk was old and was used in the garage as an activity table. Its nothing beautiful but functional. I ask to have this man go to the warehouse and make sure they could pick up the items. THEY SAID YES
3) Truck arrives. Nice enough man to deal with . He was thankfully polite. But he rejected OLD table desk saying not in good enough order for him to take. There was too much in the warehouse ( Mind you I went the day before and they said they had room). I actually begged him to take it. He said NO. And that was that.
4) I did not give him a TV, a Hairdryer, 3 bags of good clothing for children, brand new three piece samsonite luggage in perfect condition. If the table that they said could be picked up, why should I donate. I can put in my own car and deliver to COMMUNITY HOSPICE.
Although pick up is very reasonable ( 25 dollars in MODESTO), it is NOT WORTh YOUR TIME AND ENERGY TO PREPARE FURNITURE FOR PICK UP .
The driver said I should have given pictures to the front desk, but is that really my issue SINCE THE FRONT DESK STAFF ARE POORLY TRAINED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. They might have asked for pictures and for me to return instead of OK the pickup . This would have saved aggrevation.
THIS NON-PROFIT STORE NEEDS TO GET ITS ACT TOGETHER.
IT NEEDS TO TRAIN ITS STAFF BETTER.
IT NEEDS To POST WHAT THEY WANT and WHAT A CUSTOMER MUST DO to PREP FOR PICKUP.
I have been an Executive Director of three non-profits with one that had a THRIFT STORE. I know the business. I know that it is hard to get staff. BUT IT IS THE NON PROFIT BOARD AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR that are responsible for TRAINING STAFF ( or making sure this SOP is written and carried out. )
IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF the CUSTOMER unless the store posts information and advises.
I will be announcing this at meetings in the future as I am a County Commissioner telling SENIORS to give elsewhere.
Suffice it to say, I am annoyed at the total lack of customer service at this agency.
