Through a series of events, without any training from our Food Pantry (our President passed and the person that was taking over her position was involved in a car accident), I was tasked with trying to keep our Food Pantry open. I had no knowledge regarding Food Pantries. I interacted with most of the staff at The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent as I learned how to navigate all involved. Each person I interacted with at the Food Bank was instructive and kind. They supplied me with written material and hands on guidance as I learned to navigate primarius, web based system.
I can not express how knowledgeable and kind each staff member from the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent is!! THANK YOU!
I am Executive Director of the Gonzales County Senior Citizens Association, Inc. The Food Bank has made a tremendous impact on our operations. We serve all of Gonzales County and are able to partner with the Food Bank to purchase products (with our donations) at significant savings and deliver to our residents. This supplements our clients food supply as their fixed incomes do not go very far. It is a struggle to keep our non profit going but when we can make our donations go further, it benefits everyone. Not only is the Food Bank an asset to us, but their employees are caring, kind, and always helpful. We are grateful for the friends we have made and their partnership to help us.
Share is proud to partner with the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. Frances and Katy are always available when we have a problem or need. Gabby and Crystal that take our orders are great. Everything from problem solving, to ordering our food, to the wonderful delivery driver makes it easy at Share to help the less fortunate. The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent is a great partner to have and they work very hard to help in all circumstances.,
I am constantly amazed at how dedicated all of the staff are to helping our community. Everyone truly cares and they are so passionate about their mission to helping heal the hurt of hunger. I'm especially impressed that the CEO takes the time to write handwritten thank-you notes to donors. She writes with intent showing her gratitude. I am honored to be associated with The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent.
The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent touches so many people in our South Texas region. It’s incredible to see how many different organizations they connect with to assist!
I help the food bank with mobile food donation in port lavaca as much as I can. Everytime I volunteer I feel welcome like part of the family
We brought a tractor trailer load of supplies down when Hurricane Harvey hit. I called Golden Cresent to see if they would take our supplies. Robin broke down in tears.. she asked why we would want to do this. I have seen first hand what Mother Nature can do and we wanted to help. It was boyfriends idea. He is a truck driver and wanted to give a helping hand. When we arrived they were helping some local people getting supplies and they were so compassionate. Robin cried when we finally met. She was totally shocked when we open the trailer doors and had a full load everything from mops and buckets to pet food. 4 hours later. 49 pallets laters and we were unloaded. The workers were right there helping unload. Lots of friendships made that day. Robin and her staff are amazing people and we will gladly help them out again. Small Town Big Hearts!!!!!
