Mission: The fogarty center provides support to approximately 300 adults with developmental disabilities and its families within the greater providence and surrounding areas. It is the organization's philosophy that people with developmental disabilities may be active, productive members of the community and, as such, entitled to the same rights, privileges, responsibilities and choices as all citizens. Accordingly, the organization's mission is to offer exploration, encouragement and positive guidance, concerning individual interests, aptitude and talents, based on personal preferences. Ultimately, the goal is to promote self-determination and personal growth.
Programs: The forgarty center's residential program offers individuals a wide range of living arrangements. The program provides 24-hour support and an ever-growing supported-living program for individuals who live with a roommate or on their own. The fogarty center provides a variety of day program and other non-24 hour support programs throughout the state of rhode island. The fogarty center provided early childhood education for children six weeks to five years of age within infant, toddlers, preschoold and pre-k setting and classrooms through june 30, 2016.
