The Felix Organization

Volunteering with The Felix Organization has been one of the most meaningful things I’ve done. They’re thoughtful about how they show up for kids in foster care and everything they do has real intention behind it. Whether it’s through camp, special events, or ongoing support, they create experiences that help kids feel seen, supported, and celebrated. It’s clear that this isn’t just a program—it’s a community that cares. I’m grateful to be part of it and to witness the impact it has firsthand.

My sister got me involved with The Felix Organization for last year's Walk This Way and Slay This Way event as a volunteer and both events were so much fun to be a part of. It was really cool to see how people of different backgrounds rally together to make a difference for Felix kids. I am really excited to continue to be a part of these events and contribute to the mission.

I have been a proud volunteer with the Felix Organization for the past two years. I have seen first hand the positive impact that the organization has on the young people they serve. The summer camps, outdoor learning opportunities, sports and cultural experiences Felix provides are essential for healthy growth and development of our youth. It brings me joy to see the kids make discoveries that they otherwise would not have the privilege to make. I especially enjoyed the trip to Manitoba where the children hiked through the grounds, breathing fresh air and discovering plants and wildlife that they do not typically encounter in the city. Skate this Way in Central Park this year was also amazing. It was a bright sunny day and the kids had a blast. Surf this Way was another thrilling event where the kids actually learned to surf! I can't say enough good things about the positive impact that the Felix Organization makes to our community:)

As someone who went from volunteer to junior board member to part of the Felix staff, I can confirm that Felix is more than just a nonprofit, it’s a family and a feeling. To be a part of this organization is a dream come true because there is no greater group of folks doing work that is so valuable in improving the lives of children. There is so much love and compassion behind every individual that makes up this community and it makes a huge difference in the lives of those we serve.

I had the privilege of volunteering with The Felix Organization for their annual "Walk This Way" event, and it was an incredible experience. From start to finish, the event was impressively organized, and the staff made sure that volunteers felt welcomed and well-prepared.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the day was seeing the big smiles of the foster youth who attended. The energy was contagious! It was clear that this event meant a great deal to them, providing a space where they could feel celebrated, supported, and part of a larger community.

The day was filled with engaging activities, music, and uplifting moments that brought everyone together. Watching the kids connect with one another and with volunteers was a powerful reminder of the impact that organizations like Felix have. I'm grateful to have been part of such a meaningful event and would encourage anyone looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity to get involved!

Last year, I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer at Walk This Way with my family, and it was such a fantastic experience! It was my first time volunteering at a walk-a-thon, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was blown away by how well-organized the event was. With over 250 attendees, including foster youth, social workers, families, and donors, it was incredible to see everyone come together for such a meaningful cause.

As a social media volunteer, I had the chance to capture and share the joy of the event through posts and stories, and it was heartwarming to witness how much fun everyone had. Seeing the smiles and excitement made the experience even more rewarding.

I’m really looking forward to volunteering again this year and being part of another memorable event!

Volunteering at Felix's Walk This Way and Feast-i-val last year was an incredibly rewarding experience. I worked for Camp Felix the first two years it was open and it was such an amazing experience. The whole organisation does such amazing work and I am so happy I got to be a small part of it.

The Felix Organization is an exceptional charity which offers children in foster care as well as teens that are aging out experiences which help them develop friendships and self worth. Many of these children have never experienced summer camp and enrichment activities. Felix saves lives in my opinion

Camp Felix is an incredible nonprofit. It allows the youth in foster care we serve at my organization to experience the beauty of summer camp every year, has sponsored laptops and mifi devices for countless kids who are otherwise unable to connect with tutors for virtual sessions, therapists for telehealth appointments, or keep up with school work that is increasingly done online. They are a fantastic organization that has impacted so many kids and families' lives.

I own a website that publicizes the charitable efforts of public figures and the organizations they champion. I stumbled across Felix this way, was immediately taken by what they manage to accomplish, and have been a steadfast supporter ever since.

They are one of the more intimately run non-profits, operated by some of the most caring and empathetic people I've come across. The energy and creativity they invest in providing foster kids with meaningful experiences via camp and social outings alike, is inspirational.

Their founders being adoptees themselves surely plays a part in this, and their executive director, Amanda Simonetta, is nothing short of exemplary. They're a tireless organization with a family feel, which considering their stated mission, fits wonderfully.

The Felix Organization will always hold a very special place in my heart. My mother, who grew up in the foster care system is uniquely qualified to advise me and share valuable insight on the merits of foster care and the need for carefully thought out programs that enrich and create a sense of wellbeing for those who may not get adopted. The members of the Felix community are some of the most nurturing, kind and dedicated people that I have ever known. Before I was welcomed as a junior board member, it was my great honor to write the official Camp Felix theme song and spend precious time at the camp teaching this song to the kids. In addition to sports, fun activities out in nature, and mentorship experiences at the camp, a wide variety of outside events and fundraisers are hosted to continue to spread awareness about the foster care system, and the supportive environment created by the Felix team. I am so thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community.

The Felix Organization is one of the most inspiring organizations I have ever been a part of. Their dedication to foster youth is beyond inspiring and they go above and beyond to ensure that their services reach as many youth as possible. I am particularly inspired by their "Beyond Camp" program which is a grant program that provides the funds for almost any service a foster child could need to enrich their lives. This ranges from ballet class to new laptops to tutoring to guitar lessons. I find that is so import for foster youth to get to experience all of these activities to add to their sense of normalcy and encourage routine. It's amazing that The Felix Organization is dedicated to providing so many children with these opportunities free of charge. What an amazing non-profit!

I was recently introduced to The Felix Organization and have been impressed by the impact of their work. As a founder of a non-profit, serving youth, I understand the amount of dedication by their staff, board members, and partner agencies it takes to fund and organize the amazing opportunities they provide for the children in foster care that they serve. I originally thought they had one program, which was sending foster children to camp. I've since learned that they provide so much more than camp. They provides scholarships for foster children throughout the US to participate in extra-curricular activities, host Thanksgiving Feast-i-val for foster children and their families, provide field trips such as learning to surf or ice skate, attending sporting events, the Christmas Spectacular and so much more!

I have worked with The Felix Organization for some time now, and each year I am blown away by the amazing work that continues to take place.

At Felix, kids are given unforgettable experiences, friendships and lessons that extend beyond camp, and have them eager to return each summer.

The Felix Organization is terrific. I have been volunteering for over six years now.

I teach young campers how to draw and make stop-motion animated films. It is amazing to see the kid's positive reactions to Camp Felix.

The Felix Organization has had a huge impact on the lives of foster care participants at our agency. Just a some of the things they've provided recently: year- round cultural and recreational experiences, scholarships for older and younger participants to pursue anything their heart desires for extra-curricular enrichment; summer job opps at their camp; holiday gift cards; donations of clothing, toys, laptops, trips; annual virtual empowerment conference for girls; participation in their annual fundraising walk and on and on. Just this month, Felix partnered with an org to offer indoor surfing lessons to teens in our programs (provided door to door transportation and instruction). It's a memory they'll have forever just like all the other outings and may not ever have again. Felix Org staff Amanda and Tiffany are truly, truly exceptional. They are flexible, detailed, cognizant of the needs of the youth we serve, caring and so generous. We are deeply grateful for the experiences they offer our young people that they would never have were it not for The Felix Organization.

I’ve been with The Felix Organization since it was a seed from the dreams of two adoptees. I have watched it flower and grow to become a strong force of nurture for children in the foster care system. Even during the challenges of Covid this group worked harder and grew to expand its reach. From summer camps to unforgettable experiences like surfing and zip lining Felix provides hope in motion and some good ole fun to boot.

As part of the Junior Board, I have been able to volunteer at events on the east and west coast. All of them were extremely impressive and made the kids the main focus. Everyone involved is very motivated and the organization's leadership continues to shine. I am blessed to have been able to help their great mission and see their positive impact grow with each year.

The Felix Organization has been my new home for the past 6/7 months and it has been an amazing experience to work and build with like-minded individuals. As a former foster child, the Felix organization has shown that are many communities and safe spaces for these children, and truly makes my heart smile.

I have known about camp Felix for a little over 11 years and within this time frame I have been given the opportunity to both attend the camp as a camper and work with the organization. I’ve been apart of The Felix Organization for almost 10 years now. I absolutely love working with Felix! Sheila, Darryl, Amanda and everyone involved are all amazing! I love helping out at all the events and also watching the kids grow throughout the years. Seeing the smiles that Felix puts on their faces is what it’s all about!

I’ve been with Felix from Day 1 but have just recently gotten involved as a Junior Board member and I have to say it is such a grand honor. For 15 years Felix has been helping Foster kids by providing camps, fundraisers and character/career building activities.

I've been involved with the Felix Organization since its early conception that first year starting with 87 kids. Over the years I've watched this grow into a expansive flourishing community. While the focus is primarily Camp Felix for Foster Kids from inter-city homes, there is a variety of on going events throughout the calendar year. This adds support, consistency and camaraderie amongst the campers keeping them united and engaged in the world at large. A truly remarkable program run by dedication, awareness, commitment and love. Today Felix Organization and it ongoing commitment to the Foster Kids now tallies in the thousands with no limit in sight. A extraordinary foundation with limitless goals.

I first got affiliated with the Felix organization in 2011 working as a camp counselor at the Camp Felix summer camp. The beauty of Camp Felix, and the Felix organization as a whole, is not only what it provides for children in foster care but also what it provides for it's employees and affiliates. After 8 straight summers working at Camp Felix, in numerous positions, I am currently part of the junior board and I'm the process of creating a scholarship to grant to exceptional students that attend camp Felix. This is one small example of how the Felix Organization positively impacts the lives of so many.

I first got to know the Felix Organization 12 years ago and had the privilege to see the amazing work they did with children in the child welfare system. I joined the work and the mission 11 years ago as a staff member at Camp Felix. Since then, I have witnessed countless smiles, magical moments and life changing time.

Felix operates with professionalism and connection to staff and campers alike. The beyond camp grant is a great grant to help support students year round and most recently Felix was a huge partner to us when our families needed it most.

The Felix Organization has been essential for promoting wellness and joy for children in the foster care system. As the nation's first and most advanced school designed specifically kids in the foster care and child welfare system, we know how important their work is for the community. We have sent countless children to spend the summer at their camp as well as work together to create lifelong memories throughout the year through trips to the ballet, an annual Thanksgiving get together, and trips to museums. Thank you for the work you do -- your organization is truly essential for the self-esteem of vulnerable children.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced Haven Academy to shutter its doors and provide distance learning to students on Friday, March 13th. Our staff was well-prepared: teachers provided paper homework packets and quickly mobilized to full online learning on Monday, March 23. At that same time, families transitioned from having two hot meals and a snack provided to their children by Haven Academy every day to having to ensure that their children have enough food at home.

Our team of highly devoted social workers have been working around the clock to check in with families and students to make sure this basic requirement is met. The team checks on their mental health, overall well-being, and makes sure the family has the learning tools and support they need. During these contacts, we noticed that many families were waiting for their next Food Stamp installment to purchase household essentials and were falling short. We also found an increase in families who are quarantining at home due to multiple family members being diagnosed with COVID-19. Further still were families whose small businesses were forced to close for the safety of the community.

The generous grant from the Felix Organization has allowed us to provide direct support to 34 students in 14 families experiencing food insecurity. Without this support, many of our families would have been unable to purchase food staples, formula, basic medicines, cleaning supplies, among other items. As food banks, shelter systems, and the social safety net struggle to keep pace with the rapidly-evolving environment, the Felix Organization bridged the gap to ensure children in the foster care and child welfare system were able to eat.

The Felix Organization is an incredible nonprofit. Though it has grown tremendously, it continues to provide excellent service across all programs. At Camp Felix, children have the opportunity to be their true selves and be surrounded by adults who care for them deeply. They are encouraged to try new things and hone in on their existing talents through various activities.

Simply put, the Felix Organization is the best in the business!

Over the past decade the Felix Organization team has worked tirelessly on expanding both programs and resources to meet both the need and the demands of our youth in care.

With the addition of a Youth Board for teens, Beyond Camp Grants & Counselor In Training programs, The Felix Organization is uniquely positioned to help kids evolve from campers all the way into full fledged staff members.

As a long time donor with an expertise in evaluating a company's operations, I have always been amazed at how much The Felix Organization's leadership, staff and volunteers are able to accomplish to achieve their goals and objectives of improving the lives of these wonderful and deserving children. I have partnered with the Felix Organization for over ten years now. I am grateful for so many of the things they do. Our programs serve youth in congregate care. Being able to go to camp each summer and have an amazing, normative, transformative and fun in the sun experience is priceless. They don’t only make the opportunity available they show up, enhance programming and advocate for the youth.
During the holidays we count on their generosity to provide kids with gifts and make sure they are not forgotten. The holidays are hard for kids separated from their family. The gifts help make them feel that they are cared about.
Most recently, Felix was able to give us emergency support during Covid. Helping us get arts materials to keep our kids busy during their stay in care and for packages to our families that have food insecurities and limited transportation. The enhancement to what we can provide are measurable and felt. We are so grateful for the partnership and support.

Who looks out for the needs and interests of foster children, who are among the most vulnerable members of our society?

The Felix Organization gives children in the foster care system an experience afforded to so many other children: a chance to be a kid at summer camp. Thanks to Felix, these kids can have critical socializing experiences and develop fond memories to look back on as they face the challenges of growing up.

I attended Camp Felix as a child and have also had the honor of working there once I was old enough. Since the age of 8 every single summer I've spent at Camp Felix had been life-changing. I've gained both spirit and life time friends who I consider family from camp. They also throw various great events throughout the year to remind the Felix family that it is a year-round experience. The people who attend both camp and year-around events always see that Camp Felix is a family and is open to anyone with enough CAMP SPIRIT to join!!!!

Having watched The Felix Organization grow for the past 12 years, I have seen the positive effect on campers who experience leaving the inner city for the first time. They form a tight camaraderie free of having to wear a tough outer shell, where those less outgoing are embraced and encouraged by their peers to reach their full potential. The youngsters are encouraged to experience dance, singing, acting, arts and crafts and physical challenges, including learning to swim, a skill taken for granted by many youth from other environments. Pride in who they are and where they come from is an integral part of the experience, reinforced by each cabin making flags representing a myriad of ethnicities and learning about the country, language and customs. The annual camp Open House and Talent Show provides a venue for all to shine without fear of failure or recrimination, either independently or within a group. When visiting camp, I have been inspired by the enthusiasm of campers and counselors alike; smiles and laughter abound, coupled with serious and compassionate conversations as the situation calls for. All of this takes place within the rigid requirements for safety and health and well-being required for all children’s camps, with the additional support necessary for those with unique needs.
The organization is carefully managed, with nearly 75% of all funds going directly to the program. Funding is supported by generous donations of time and materials from avid supporters and volunteers. The Felix Organization has become my family’s chosen charity as we witness the positive benefits it provides for children so often left behind through no fault of their own.

The Felix Organization is an integral resource to youth in the foster care system. Often times said kids feel alone and unwanted, with little opportunity to pursue their interests or interact with those who can understand their situation. The Felix Organization provides all that and more! As someone who was once a recipient of their aid and is now a current intern with them, I feel I can safely and confidently say that the Felix Organization is one of a kind. I hope that people in the community will continue to support their efforts to improve the lives of foster kids everywhere.

The Felix Organization has played a vital role in my life, for as long as I can remember. As a kid there was never a summer that I didn't want to go to camp & I can still remember crying & feeling sad, when summer would end & the countdown would have to restart. The countdown until the next event, until we were all reunited, until we all felt at home again. For many of us Felix is a family.

I have been following the Felix Organization and what they do for some time now and it is so empowering. Helping the underprivileged and raising money for kids in foster care to enjoy after school activities, school itself and summer camp when they many not have been able to in the first place. Even helping with holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas so these children don't feel left out. Every kid deserves to be a kid and enjoy what life has to offer and this way they can.

The Jam Master Jay Foundation for Music is a proud donor of The Felix Organization. They do such important work and have an enormous impact on the kids they work with. Felix is truly one of those great organization with truly great people running the show. They have unequivocally demonstrated a passion to providing a diverse range of enrichment for children in the foster care system whom are typically neglected and very often cast aside.

Felix has demonstrated an innate ability to enrich children's lives beyond just taking them to summer camp. I have witnessed first hand the children who enter the program and believe very little is possible within their current situations transformed into children with dreams aspirations and real goals. This is a direct result of encouragement and their exposure to people who truly care about their futures as well as mental and physical challenges, arts and crafts, music, theater and participating in first hand problem solving and team building exercises.

As a young person growing up in New York City, I was privileged enough to live near the ocean and I can say from experience how important it is for human beings, especially children, to connect with nature. The Felix Organization provides children from the foster care system with the opportunity to get away from hectic city life to enjoy fresh air, green grass, beautiful trees, and clear skies. I've seen their happy faces for myself and I know that their time at Camp Felix will leave a positive impact on their lives that will last forever.

The Felix Organization has been a loyal part of my children's lives for over 10 years. My children went to Camp Felix each summer when they were young and they looked forward to it every year. I don't think there is another organization that truly creates a family for all of us like Felix does. With other organizations, you don't always know for sure if they are making a difference in the community. Felix always puts children first and makes sure to provide the best opportunities. I am grateful for the positive impact they've had on my children's lives and for how they continue to care about them even through adulthood. Camp Felix provides hundreds of people with a life-changing experience; both children and staff. Being a part of the camp felix team gives every individual the opportunity to widen their range of abilities by working in an environment that is conducive to growth. Both the counselors and the children are so welcoming and eager to make each summer the best summer they've had. I was a first camp counselor with Camp Felix last summer, and I can honestly say that last summer was the most memorable summer I've ever had. Working alongside individuals who all had something to bring to the table and genuinely wanted to ensure that each kid left Camp Felix at the end of the week with a smile on their faces was beneficial to my understanding of what a team really is. I went to camp to work and change children's lives, but it turns out that my life was changed as well. From the camp cheers to the talent shows, Camp Felix is a fun and rewarding experience. I love my Camp Felix family, and I can't wait to return this summer as a camp counselor!

Throughout the last year that I have had the pleasure of working with The Felix Organization as a member of the Junior Board I have continually been inspired. The Felix Board, Executive Team and their growing support network devote their time and energy to the kids in new and creative ways. Even more impressive is how the kids are so motivated by their Camp Felix experience to give back to their peers and communities by becoming volunteers themselves.

Felix is such an incredible organization that supports so many children through the tireless work of amazing volunteers. The founders are directly involved and interact and inspire the kids with their dedication and sincerity. I have been involved with many organizations but none is as outstanding or as genuine as Felix. The children gain so much as evidenced by the desire so many of them have to remain involved with Felix as they mature into adults. It truly is an exceptional organization and the kids that are welcomed by it experience positive changes that remain with them forever.

I first heard about the Felix organization when a friend of mine explained that she was heading to an event and wanted company. I decided I would go with her. It was held during the day at a camp upstate ny. And I was delighted to spend the day with the children/counsellors and other Felix supporters. It's a great cause- run by special individuals who really care.

I have been involved with The Felix Organization since 2006. The co-founders, Sheila Jaffe and Darryl McDaniels have inspired me and when they asked for help I couldn't say no. I had no idea I would still be here on this remarkable journey with them ten summers later as those of us who are a part of Team Felix witness first hand how their vision is enriching the lives of children in foster care one child at a time, one camp at a time, one school book at a time, one smile at a time. We have seen children light up with hope and go on to college with Felix supporting them and applauding their journey. These children are our children. We have a village of dedicated people from volunteers, board members, friends, family and co-workers. We all have this in common we love the people who planted the seed and we love the children who blossom because of it. FELIX is a game changer and as it enters it's tenth year, its mission and purpose grows in enthusiasm and need.

I have been working with The Felix Organization since it first began in 2006. I am continually amazed at the impact that Felix is having on so many young lives. The youth Felix serves are in the foster care system, and have often faced abuse and/or neglect. Felix provides a loving community for these youth to help get them on a path to success. Each year Camp Felix grows and expands, with former campers coming back as CITs, Volunteers and eventually Counselors. What better role models for the young campers than those who were once in their shoes. Felix is a community unlike any other I've ever seen. I am so honored to be a volunteer for FELIX. The way they change the lives for these kids is so amazing. Camp Felix gives them a place where they get to embrace their 'specialness,' make new friends, learn, feel supported and have fun. Felix a small charity with a big heart. During the past nine years Felix has sent thousands of at risk boys & girls to summer camp, Thanksgiving dinners, Radio City Holiday shows, and supported young adults who have aged out of the foster care system. Hello, I'm impressed with Felix Organization for all their unselfish acts of kindness towards children and teens most in need. As a donor, my wish is that one day I can do much more for Felix's children. I have family that have been in foster care, so it is personal to me. Like most amazing organizations, Felix's vision and goals stem from their leaders. The founder's themselves, Ms. Sheila Jaffe and Mr. Darryl McDaniels, have been selfless and considerate; which has attracted many others to get involved. One of the most important contributions has been Camp Felix; where NYC children in need of families get to spend summer at camp. They dance, sing, play, compete, and laugh. My name is Mike and I am the guitar instructor at Camp Felix. I started as a counselor almost 10 years ago. Over the years, I have seen Camp Felix grow into a wonderful camp. Part of that growth has been the result of the many wonderful campers, staff, and guests that we have had over the years. Yet, none of it would be possible without the continued support of the Felix Organization. People ask me why I return to Camp Felix, and I simply tell them that it is my home away from home- a place with a unique culture, a brother/sisterhood, and an amazing atmosphere!

The Felix Organization does wonderful work to make a life-long difference for children without families. The founders understand how fortunate they were to be adopted and given a chance, and they seek to do everything they can to help as many children who were not so fortunate, to have the same opportunities. The children this organization has helped have grown into great contributors to society, and they are continuing to improve futures nationwide.

I served as Art Director of this fabulous camp for three summers. In the often oppressive heat of the summer, campers, counselors, and staff put their hearts and souls into ensuring joy in every moment of their week. The diversity of camp activities and experiences sets this camp apart.

For many, it is their first experience with nature in the country, unplugged and all. I watched with amusement as children encountered a dragonfly dodging their head. I observed children learning how to enjoy the stillness of the woods and write poetry in this setting. I saw the confidence beaming from their faces as they learned to swim. I saw the bonds created between peers and with their counselor role models in this safe and nurturing setting. For every Open House event, I watched children, with enthusiasm and pride, prepare their camp with banners and art for their "audience" to see.

Much hard work has been put into a vision of creating a culture in which children can experience summer life as a camper, and grow leaps and bounds to experience summer life as a leader and counselor for other children from similar backgrounds. This camp builds family and community values for children that might not be exposed to such essential knowledge otherwise.

I Have been privileged to attend Camp Felix open house. A lovely rural sleep away setting where magic happens. The commitment and compassion of administration and staff to these wonderful children is compelling. Further, I witnessed a true bond
and reciprocation of these young people. It is as if the light flashes to the on position and it is finally apparent that there are people who truly care. These kids need to grasp that concept to flourish and grow. The Felix Organization is making that a reality.

As a Social Service Coordinator I have had the privilege of collaborating with The Felix Organization on several projects over the past few years. The Felix Organization is committed to its mission to help fill the gaps for youth in foster care. They have little administrative cost and many volunteers to guarantee that the money that is raised goes to benefit the youth and children directly. I have seen them make magic for many kids lacking parental support, guidance or resources. Sheila and Darryl are personally involved. They put their heart and soul behind every opportunity and are strong advocates and amazing community partners. Thank you Felix for the many life skill building and self esteem boosting opportunities you made possible. Together we are changing the cycle of abuse and poverty!

It's been an honor to be alongside Darryl "DMC" MCDANIELS for the past 9 years as co-founder of FELIX. The Felix Organization has been sending children in foster care to summer camp for 9 years! After this summer they have changed over 1,000 lives. 1,001 including mine. Since 2006 Felix has expanded from New York to Los Angeles. In addition They have created a Counselor in Training program, as well as Beyond Camp where children who are aging out of foster care can continue to grow.

I started as a volunteer at Camp Felix 2013. Needless to say I fell in love. Now, as an Administrative Assistant I am surrounded by a team of individuals who truly love this cause. From the board to the counselors the Felix Family makes it their mission to make these kids lives better, its inspiring.

I have worked with this special grass roots organization for most of it's eight years. Starting with the passion of its co-founders up to the volunteers and social workers who tirelessly give their time and energy to children in foster care, this charity is a game changer for this population of children. Felix started with a summer camp in upstate New York and to date, has a Camp Felix West in LA and a Beyond Camp program that provides scholarships and financial support all year round. Felix wants to help as many boys and girls as possible make their dreams come true. At it's very first fundraiser. Felix gave out seeds and over the years those symbolic seeds now have faces. We interact year after year with these children and watch them blossom into positive people who want to make a difference in this world.

Campers get to try new activities, make new friends, learn to live independently, gain an appreciation for the natural world and build self confidence, all of which serves them for the rest of their lives. Children in foster care don't tend to have access to summer camp experiences, which is why The Felix Organization is so vitally important for so many youth. To date, nearly 1,000 children from the five boroughs of New York City have attended Camp Felix in Putnam Valley, NY. The Felix Organization continues to grow, piloting a camp in Los Angeles and providing year-round enrichment to children in foster care. This organization seeks partners to help support its mission to improve the outcomes for youth in foster care.

This organization changes the lives of children in the most profound way and plants seeds of hope for children in the foster care system. Once a year children in the foster care system are allowed to be kids that aren't different. At Camp Felix they are a part of a family and a community that nurtures their development throughout the year. Since 2006, THE FELIX ORGANIZATION has sent over 700 children to CAMP FELIX for one or two week sessions. Our goal is to continue to send an increasing number of children to CAMP FELIX each year and to nurture and encourage them throughout the year with additional, inspiring opportunities.

Camp Felix is located in Putnam Valley, New York and some of the activities provided at camp include: basketball, swimming, softball, arts and crafts, drama, yoga, to name a few. Because we have had such incredible success throughout the years, we have initiated a Counselor in Training program for campers who are no longer of age to attend FELIX but can still be part of the experience in a leadership role. "BEYOND CAMP" also addresses individual year round needs of some of these children.

As we expand our horizons, we hope that you will join us in our effort. You can help make a positive change or new beginning for these children.
