In addition to the previous review on how The Ellie Fund impacts families, I wanted to add a few words about the charity's "back of the house" heart. The Ellie Fund and its dedicated staff are not only excellent charitable partners, but are hyperaware of how each penny could best be used making a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families. They are kind, caring and crazy smart administrators and marketers. By raising awareness about supporting families surviving breast cancer through creative high-end fundraising events, they have also heightened the profile of those who choose this cause over many others, and this specific charity as their primary nonprofit for giving in a philanthropic marketplace with many choices. I've never in my 20-year career seen such profound loyalty and love for and within an organization - whether they are "taking care" of event volunteers or making every sponsor, donor and partner feel like they are part of the family. This is a nonprofit organization that loves its staff, volunteers and supporters as well as it cares for the women who are in crisis and need support.

I feel I have alot to offer, I'm willing to drive, shop or just be there for families going through the stressful time.
This is my second attempt, no response the first try.
I recently joined the Board of Directors for the Ellie Fund, however, my families involvement with this organization started more than two years ago. My family became involved with the Ellie Fund after a close friend of ours was diagnosed with breast cancer. Feeling helpless that we could not go through the radiation or chemo, we told her that we wanted to raise money for some breast cancer related cause in her honor. She then told us the story of the Ellie Fund and one particular women who she met that was going through chemo treatment (while still working) and how the Ellie Fund was able to help this individual. Since then we have heard many more stories about the direct impact that the services provided through the Ellie Fund have had for those families throughout Massachusetts who are fighting breast cancer on a daily basis. As a result, my wife and I have continued to work closely with the Ellie Fund to raise awareness and donations for this fantastic organization.

The Ellie Fund provides financial support to women in treatment for breast cancer. The mission of the Ellie Fund is unique in that they strive to support both patients and their caregivers. From grocery cards to taxi vouchers the Ellie Fund has made life significantly less stressful for many of the women with whom I work. The staff of the Ellie Fund is also very compassionate and always willing to go out of their way to help someone in need.

I have been volunteering for the Ellie Fund for a few years and through volunteering I had an opportunity to interview many women, their husbands, kids, other family members and friends. There is one thing in common between each story - The Ellie Fund has saved somebody’s life. As a social worker caring for breast cancer patients I have seen first hand the countless patients and families who have been helped by the Ellie Fund. It is a beautifuly run organization.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the ripe old age of 33...the Ellie Fund was there to help! With fresh meals delivered right to my door and gift cards to my local supermarket... They helped my family stay healthy, so I could concentrate on healing. Today, I am proud to say that I am cancer free and a current board member for the Ellie fund! They truly are nothing short of AWESOME!

These are people who care deeply about others. They are truly out to help all women who are going through their most difficult time. It's the little things that count and add up: grocery shopping, babysitting, and any other daily to-do lists that they take care of lifting some weight of already overwhelmed families.

Hi, My name is Laura Proctor, and I am the Patient Navigator at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates-Kenmore Oncology Department. It is my role as PN to provide any and all services for our patients undergoing treatment for various cancer related diseases. The Ellie Fund is the only local non-profit organization within the Greater Boston area that provides our breast cancer patients with incredible benefits as they are going through treatment. There are not enough words to descibe the responses that I receive when these woman and their families receive that grocery card, or gas card, and sometimes dish and deliver meals, etc.....I consider this referral based resource to be our most valued and appreciated of any others. We have become friends with the organization. They are so hands on, we feel we know them all personally. I just can't say enough. We are honored to hold our own fundraiser in October for Breast Cancer Awareness, providing The Ellie Fund with the proceeds from this event. It is simple. The Ellie Fund just keeps giving back!

Working with the Ellie Fund hardly feels like work at all. The services they provide are so incredibly necessary and unfortunately, there are not nearly enough resources dedicated to actually helping the families, living with cancer, with their day-to-day lives. In my opinion, what the Ellie Fund does is god's work and we jump at any chance to help them with their mission. They make working with them incredibly easy, rewarding and enjoyable and we hope to be partners with them for a long time to come. The people are amazing, the mission clear and they work so hard to help people who need help the most, and in ways that are felt by the entire family...not just the person having to deal with the disease. They are nothing short of an amazing non-profit and deserve all the recognition they get for the work they do.

As an Ellie Fund volunteer I've had the honor to meet people who've benefitted from the Ellie Fund's services. Many of these people are now volunteers themselves... a clear sign TEF does good work. TEF has a small staff doing the work of an army. Their dedication is unmatched and sincere. Events are well-run, 1st class affairs. Volunteers are treated with respect and are truly appreciated. I consider it an honor to be involved with this organization.
My daughter, Tara Griffith, was struck with Breast Cancer in April 2010. I was living in North Carolina at the time (I have subsequently moved back to the Boston area) and the long distance service that I could provide was minimal at best. Tara told me how the Ellie Fund contacted her directly and offered their services of help to her. It was beyond anything I had ever seen before in a non-profit. The fact that the Ellie Fund is providing much needed care to cancer patients on such a generous level caused an interest in me. I have been thru Taras treatments when I was able and saw how hard it can be to manage cancer and life. The balancing act required to sustain a sense of normality is beyond what could be understood outside this cancer arena. I was moved when I saw how the Ellie Fund, and its fund-raisers, sacrificially devoted themselves to be not only a help...but a true Blessing. It is an organization that doesn't just issue a balance sheet at the end of the year; but, an organization that has faces....faces of people actually served. Worthy Worthy Worthy cause to commit to and support. Thank You all.
Working for the Ellie Fund as member of the board is truly an honor. After every board meeting, I walk away inspired and moved by the hard work, dedication, and care that go into this organization. I am so proud to be a Board Member of the Ellie Fund! I have a fear of public speaking but would not hesitate to stand in front of a big crowd to talk about the important work this organization does. The Ellie Fund staff go above and beyond providing the much needed services breast cancer patients deserve.
The Ellie Fund is unique in that it provides support to take care of those who take care of everyone else. By supporting women and men with the day to day demands, burdens are eased and the patient can then focus on resting and healing.
As a breast cancer patient, I heard about The Ellie Fund from my medical team. I was so impressed with the mission of The Ellie Fund right from the start. Their focus is on helping the women and their families during a very challenging time by providing them with necessary things like rides to appointments and healthy meals. Their fund raising events are all about health and beauty, sending a positive message to donors and patients alike. I wish there were more organizations like The Ellie Fund!
The Ellie Fund is an organization comprised of and supported by extremely hardworking, dedicated, and passionate people. Every Ellie Fund event is spectularly put together with careful attention paid to highlighting the people that it so fully supports.
Every event I have volunteered at or attended has been a fulfilling experience. Although I've been to many Ellie Fund events, I always leave feeling like I've just been a part of a revelatory experience for everyone involved; those that have, had, have somehow been touched by breast cancer, or those, like myself, he just want to support a wonderful cause. The Ellie Fund does an amazing job of showing just how lifechanging its support is for women with breast cancer. The comraderie of all those who choose to support the Ellie Fund is inspiring, and wonderful to feel a part of.
I can't speak highly enough of this charity! Their cause is a truly noble one, and they do a great job of raising awareness, as well as supporting those in need.
Everyone I have interacted with in the group has been wonderful, and I have had the pleasure of attending several of their events - both of which have been spectacular. I intend on continuing to contribute where and when I can in the future, and look forward to doing so!
I did volunteer as a professional photographer for the Ellie Fund events. I would like to say that I had a such great experience working under the direction of Julie Nations the director of the EF; such an excellent level of coordination and at the same time, enjoying a friendly and loving environment.
Now I produce a yearly fund raising event and I am looking forward to working together and support the Ellie Fund cause.

Being a breast cancer survivor, I know how important support is to help you and your family get through treatment. We are lucky in Boston to have access to extraordinary medical care, but that is only part of the story of what it takes to get you through.
The Ellie Fund support to those going through treatment is a unique and critical part of helping a patient concentrate on getting well, and for that I am profoundly grateful to support their wonderful organization.
I've just started attending and supporting these events and find the volunteers extremely dedicated.
They have a great record of providing support to those women who have this terrible disease.
In fact, a friend of mine was just diagosed with breast cancer and I referred the Ellie Fund to her. Within minutes her email was answered by Gail Fine and now she's in the process of submitting her application for transportation services.
All I can say is "Keep up the Good Work" Ladies- for you are doing a tremendous job of supporting your sisters!
The Ellie Fund meets a critical need in the fight against breast cancer. By providing support for patients and their families, the Ellie Fund allows these families to maintain as much "normalcy" as possible as they fight against breast cancer.
As a volunteer, I have participated in two ways in this organization:
1) Assist at the Fundraising events
2) Deliver meals to patients and their families.
I have been volunteering for the Ellie Fund for a few years now and I know that they truly make a huge difference in the lives of Massachusetts breast cancer patients and their families on a daily basis. Without the Ellie Fund, many families would be left to fend for themselves while undergoing chemo and radiation. The Ellie Fund fills a crucial by giving families basic support and help during this difficult time. I can't say enough about what they do and what kind of organization they run.
The Ellie Fund is truly an exceptional Non Profit Organization. They provide help to hundreds of families fighting breast cancer in Massachusetts every day. They assist with family daily activities such as transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping and home delivered healthy meals.... all free of charge, thanks to volunteers, donors, sponsors & friends.
Several times throughout the year, The Ellie Fund hosts incredible Events. OSCAR Night - Boston, is the only Oscar party in Massachusetts sanctioned by the Academy.. and truly brings Hollywood to BeanTown with style & class!! I came to know the Ellie Fund through friends who work there. They touched so many lives in a positive way and sure enough it was a just matter of time before personal friends became benefactors of the Ellie Funds services. Friends who were diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo treatment, and had very young children to care for. The Ellie Fund helped to provide transportation, babysitting and housecleaning along with much needed meals at a time my friends could not physically do these challenging things during treatments. They since have reciprocated by helping the Ellie Fund as a thank you when they needed help. It became a wonderful caring cycle.
