Their recent use of streaming for sharing the theater experience was excellent. Very pleased to have worked with the team on producing the piece. Their commitment to excellence in the community is to be noted.
My wife and I have enjoyed attending productions at the Elite Theatre for many years. We especially like the variety, genre and number of shows per season. We also appreciate the opportunities to volunteer and participate. Through the Boards' encouragement I have joined the Board and love working with everyone involved. I invite everyone to participate.
I have been involved with this community theater for 11 years Having served as a board member , then board President for three years and recently as a volunteer scheduling door tickets sales/check-in and concessions has been very rewarding in keeping our community theater active.
The Elite Theatre Company puts on some really good shows! Seriously! It's also a great place for students and adults to get their feet wet in the production of a show. From lighting, running box office and concessions to producing and stage managing, it's a great place to get to know what it takes to put a show together. I have volunteered many times, and it's a great place to make friends and see some quality shows. I recommend that anyone go check it out! Their Open Mic Nights are super fun, too!
This theatre takes pride in helping the community it resides within. They have open mic nights for local talent, and they have welcome high school students to participate in plays and learning more about how theatre works. They’ve hosted poetry readings and hosted Teatro de las Americas when they needed a performance space, welcoming an underserved part of the community. I truly love this theatre!
I have enjoyed working behind the scenes at this non profit for 4 years. To watch younger folks come in with limited knowledge about the arts and watch them grow and learn. It has been a wonderful experience! The people I have met truly are amazing individuals!
I have volunteered at this theater for about a year now, and my daughter has acted there and volunteered as well. It's in a wonderful location for a nice night out, by the harbor. It has a friendly home-like atmosphere and the people who make it all happen have a passion and love for theater that really makes for beautiful results. One of the things I love is that they focus on straight plays lately, rather than musicals. Musicals are great, but straight plays need a place also! It is a small venue, so all seats are very good. Everyone is friendly and simply trying to perpetuate the tradition of arts in the community.
I first volunteered with The Elite in May of 2016 as a production photographer and fell in love with the space. It's a very fun theatre, with a great team of people working there.
I have acted, directed, and seen many shows at this venue. The people trying to bring art to the community are constantly working on new and fun ideas (magic shows, movie nights, open mics) that really explore the options available to the public. It's a quaint little theatre full of love and excitement for the artform. Amazing sets, wonderful actors, I always find a way to get out there and see a few shows each season.
Just over a year ago, I had never been to the Elite. I’ve worked with other threatres in the county so I had heard about it. I live in Port Hueneme so I knew where it was. But I had never attended a play there. When I finally did, I found not only a theatre company that puts on quality shows in an intimate setting, but a kind of family--if not by blood, then by shared passion for the arts. I was made to feel immediately welcome there. Over the past year, I have acted in three productions there, and have begun to volunteer as the event coordinator for the theater’s second stage, the ETCetera Stage.
