Mission: The Direct Action Media Network (http://damn.tao.ca) is multimedia educational news service that gathers and distributes reports about social justice events that the corporate media generally do not cover. We are a volunteer-organized, collectively run, non-hierarchical group that makes decisions by consensus. We are the fiscal sponsor for the Independent Media Center (http://www.indymedia.org), an international collaboration of independent media makers to report upon underreported progressive issues, and Protest.net (http://www.protest.net), a Web-based calendar of upcoming social action events.
