I was first introduced to The Dar Project through a friend on Facebook in 2011. Since then the organization has flourished into something so incredible it’s hard to describe in one word. They offer outstanding educational programs and opportunities for children, orphans, and young adults. From teaching their students in person and virtual to providing them with the tools they need to succeed. The Dar Project has shaped many young lives and has given children and young students the opportunity to achieve their dreams and goals through the educational services they offer. The book “30 countries in 30 year’s” by Colette Hebert has inspired my friends daughter’s so much that they’ve decided to become teacher’s, travel the world, and became excellent volunteers. I’ve witnessed this organization have a tremendous impact on a family friend that was so shy and looking for her own purpose in her young life. She turned into a strong independent women that knows now that it’s okay to takes risks on her passions and dreams that’s held within her. That book gave her the direction that she was looking for. The team at The Dar Project and their volunteers has also inspired me. It helped me grow as an individual by seeing the fantastic impact it has had on the youth in my neighborhood alone.
It’s such a privilege to be part of this organization. Their changing the world and shaping societies into something bigger than oneself.
“To give someone else you’re time, is the most precious thing a human being can do in their life” and that is exactly what they do.

Focused, capable and agile, the compact team at DAR is open-minded and filled with youthful energy. I find the organization ready and willing to support the community of Dar Es Salaam, the orphans they work with and a continued respect for the political and economic infrastructure of Tanzania. I believe in the potential of this organization to make long term impacts on the youth, education and community with the continued investment of higher education.
