The Council has been advocating for people with intellectual disabilities, autism, down syndrome, etc. for many decades. It has credibility and is unafraid to tackle difficult, long term systems change challenges. I have great respect for this organization. They help hold governments accountable and were instrumental in pushing for dramatic increases in funding to provide Medicaid and other supports to people in need.
