Mission: The CTF built and now maintains the 500-mile Colorado Trail with the help of almost 1,000 volunteers each year and through 3 main programs.
Programs: 1. Trail Crews - Each summer, hundreds of volunteers help with trail maintenance and construction along the length of the CT. They work on appx 12 week-long and 6 weekend crews and contribute an estimated 30,000 hours of volunteer labor annually. 2. Adopt-A-Trail: 64 Adopters each maintain their 5-15 mile section of the CT year round by clearing trees off the CT, building and cleaning water diversions to limit erosion, and maintaining adequate signage. 3. Supported Treks - Supported treks are offered along the CT, allowing participants to hike ~75 mile sections and carry a day pack while their gear and supplies are shuttled for them from camp to camp each day.
