Mission: See schedule o the colorado golf association, inc. (cga) is a nonprofit organization established to nurture, foster, and promote amateur golf activities and to create new opportunities for introduction to instruction, participation, and competition in golf. Cga also educates the public on amateur golf through sponsorships of clinics, workshops, lessons, operating golf facilities, and seminars.
Programs: Junior golf activities educate members under 19 years old by providing instruction, participation and competition in golf activities. Cga conducted 45 junior series events in 2014, including the cjga junior series championships, offered rules of golf seminars to all high school golf teams, coaches and leagues, and conducted off-season education seminars.
tournaments expenses- cga conducted state championships, usga qualifiers, and assisted at numerous other tournaments and championships for golf entrants. Cga conducted 13 state amateur golf championships and 16 cga qualifiers, as well as, 7 usga qualifiers and the colorado open at green valley ranch.
course ratings and handicaps-cga performs course ratings and measurements, and monitors member clubs compliance with usga handicap certification and licensing requirements. In 2014, cga performed 32 ratings and measured 18 courses, conducted a course rating calibration seminar, and hosted a cga/cwga handicap certification seminar.
