Mission: The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey (CHSofNJ) is committed to saving children’s lives and building healthy families. We achieve this important mission by providing a comprehensive continuum of services designed to protect children from abuse and neglect; strengthen and empower families; and help every child have a safe, stable, loving home.
Programs: CHSofNJ provides culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed programming throughout the State of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. Our free and confidential programs are designed to save children’s lives and build healthy families through a variety of carefully planned and well-evaluated prevention and support services designed to help families help themselves long after our active involvement has ended. Core services fall under the following focus areas: Child Welfare and Permanency Planning; Maternal and Child Health, including WIC supplemental nutrition and breastfeeding support in Mercer County, NJ; Early Childhood and Parenting Education, including Head Start/Early Head Start; Family and Community Support, including three Family Success Centers and the State Health Insurance Assistance Program; Kinship Support; Clinical Counseling; School-Based Youth Development in Mercer County, NJ; Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) for Ocean County, NJ; and more.
