Mission: The municipal band of charlottesville is a nonprofit organization dedicated to excellence in the performance of high quality band and ensemble music. The band serves the communities of charlottesville and albemarle county, virginia, providing musical entertainment and education through free public concerts.
Programs: Performance - the municipal band of charlottesville has approximately 90 volunteer playing members. The full band holds 42 two hour rehearsals per year, and performs on average 12 concerts annually. In addition, there are several smaller ensembles made up of band members that rehearse and perform throughout the year.

In addition to a rehearsal hall, office and storage facility for the band, the municipal arts center is offered to service clubs, educational organizations, musical and dance groups, school groups, and others.
