The Center for Native Health is a non-profit that is truly doing great things within the EBCI community and beyond. They listen and learn from their community members to follow true community-based approaches to issues impacting, health, land rights, women's/mother's rights, and more. I have had a wonderful experience working with the staff and board members and have gained meaningful relationships and partnerships throughout the process.
I have been fortunate enough to work with the Center for Native Health on several occasions with educational programming. We also consult with their staff to help us understand issues facing our Indigenous community. Everyone we have worked with has been friendly, welcoming, inclusive, and very willing to help us see things from a different worldview. I highly recommend CNH programming to broaden your worldview and to improve the health of Indigenous people in Appalachia.
I've had the great pleasure of working with the Center for Native Health on a new project examining climate change and community resilience. From the outset, the center has been an absolute dream to collaborate with. Their unwavering responsiveness, deep community connections, and commitment to centering the voices and experiences of the Cherokee people are truly inspiring.
The Center for Native Health doesn’t just work within communities—they are an integral part of them. Their approach ensures that every project is not only informed by but also deeply rooted in the lived experiences of those they serve. This dedication to authenticity and respect is evident in every aspect of their work.
As we move forward, I am excited about the continued collaboration and the impactful outcomes we will achieve together. Working with the Center for Native Health reaffirms the power of community-driven efforts in addressing complex challenges like climate change impact on health disparities, and I am eager to see where this partnership will take us next.
