I grew up in a safe and nurturing environment. Until my teenage years, I thought everyone did. But growing up, my parents were big volunteers and I remember them at times taking in a family for a few days. It was as a teen that it came to light why they took these families in from time to time. The Bridge Over Troubled Water does this in a much larger scale. I enjoy volunteering my time with the Running Alliance Sport races. Not only are these races fun, they are raising money and bringing awareness to the work and commitment of The Bridge. The staff at The Bridge make volunteering alongside with them so enjoyable.

I have supported The Bridge Over Troubled Water, Inc for over 15 plus years - personally, through my business and through ABPW (Association of Business and Professional women, a networking group).

In my opinion and experience, the entire staff goes above and beyond in all interactions with both the donors and their clients that they help. I am blown away by their passion for this cause.

It has been an honor to support the Bridge Over Troubled Waters for the past 30 years!
I believe in their mission and see all the great things they do in the community.
It is a shame such an organization is needed but I know first-hand how important their work is and I truly believe their programs have helped thousands to rebuild their lives.

If you know anybody that has been in this shelter, they can tell you how the people that work there care about the residents and the children they serve!

The Bridge has provided me with an exceptional experience. Being a part of the team here allows me to see first hand the heartfelt efforts of caring people. In a world filled with turmoil and hardships, the Bridge gives a safe haven. I have listened to our residents speak of the despair and hardships they have endured and feel the up most respect for their courage to overcome and survive. The entire team at the Bridge has been a lifeline for these survivors and aides in their continued success. I am honored to have met and worked along side them.

Hi! I interned with the development manager at the Bridge Over Troubled Waters the spring semester of 2017. This experience opened my eyes to how much passion and work the bridge puts into helping survivors, in and out of their shelter, to rebuild their lives. This experience was truly a blessing, it helped me realize that I want my future career to be in social work. I learned that the logo for The Bridge Over Troubled Waters symbolized people crossing a bridge from the darkest parts of their lives to the light of their future. Working with the development manager and helping her plan their annual fundraiser I learned how fundamentally important volunteers and fundraisers are to the the bridge and have been working on getting more involved volunteering there now that my mentorship is over. I encourage caring and hard working people to get involved with the bridge! There are so many different volunteer opportunities and ways to help. Make a difference. Help these survivors get to the light.

Hello everyone,

I would like to share my experience as a volunteer at the bridge over troubled waters. While being there I saw women and families in need of shelter. Not only did the bridge assist with providing a shelter to the homeless, but they also provided food, moral support, furniture, transportation etc. The staff is amazing, genuine, kind. Always available when needed, very helpful and comforting. A place I would feel comfortable in having anyone sheltered in.

Sincerely,
Blanca Serrano
