TACA has been very helpful to my family with figuring out how to help my kids get the supports they need. The programs they offer provide a lot of valuable information for families to help with school/education support, medical support, family support, and events that allow our kids to just be kids and we all look out for each other. It's a families supporting other families. It's a great resource for parents who are struggling to get a handle on autism and how to help our kids function in the world.

TACA was there when I needed an emotional life raft. When you find out your child is ill, finding yourself amidst mothers and families who have been there is a huge blessing. These women lifted me up and helped me find my feet again. They love my children as their own. They host monthly coffee talks where we check in and help each other on the journey. I now volunteer with TACA to be that resting place for other mothers. It’s a wonderful, love driven nonprofit.

When every physician we met with said there was no hope for our children, TACA stood up and said that there was!! I am beyond grateful that we found TACA and didn’t listen to the others! Our boys are thriving because of the support, education and community that TACA offers! We are #TACAstrong

TACA is an incredible organization offering families living with autism hope, information, and support! I am eternally grateful to have come across it over 10yrs ago! My 15yo son no longer qualifies for the diagnosis of Autism, and my 14yo has come incredibly far - because of the information and support I've gained from TACA. Forever thankful, and HOPEFUL

I found TACA in 2007, while desperately looking for answers on how to help my then 4 year old. I have learned all I have and my son has come as far as he has because of TACA and their volunteers. I joined TACA as a volunteer parent mentor because I want others to get from TACA what I did and continue to do. My son, who is now 8 years old, no longer meets the criteria for autism. He is completely age appropriate socially and in all areas of speech. He would not be there without the support and information I learned from the many angels I met at and through TACA.

I have been with TACA since 2010! Volunteering as much as I could since, my boys wouldn’t ever engage with me of my husband. As if they had no soul in their eyes. Trapped in their own body. Today we have better days than bad days thanks for TACA. 8 years later going strong! I know give back nexus their is #HOPE for everyone!❤️

TACA is hope. A guide, to get started and for continuing to find the way. Having access to a parent also living this life is invaluable. My TACA mentor has been such a help to me over the years. She has given so much informational support, but also emotional support. Whether it’s been 2 days or several months, she always listens and jumps in with a good attitude and sound advice. I can’t count how many times I’ve said, ‘My TACA mentor says...’ Thank you TACA!

TACA is an amazing organizations with funds raised going directly to parents in form of education, events, and scholarships, unlike some of the other autism nonprofits. I love the conferences, monthly coffee talks, and the mentor program. TACA is truly autism parents serving other autism parents.

According to doctors, our son was now just a diagnosis on a piece of paper with a long list of nevers. He’ll never speak, never say I love you, never read or write, and he’ll never integrate in school. TACA was the first resource I found when searching for hope and they have proven to be the most valuable in the 9 years since that diagnosis. Our son is speaking, reading, has friends now, and has a life we were told was impossible. This is what TACA does. They show up for parents with meaningful resources like in person meetings, mentors, and guides to help you navigate and demystify autism. They saved our family and we work every day to pay that forward, because it was a priceless gift that no donation I make could ever repay. TACA is simply the best and because of them, more families will get the chance to beat the odds and have hope.

While our autism families are wildly different, a lot of us have similar stories that have found TACA. Birds of a feather, as they say. TACA has been a beacon of light when I felt I was in darkness. It is an organization for my family that gives me options, solutions and most importantly HOPE! TACA really came into my life when I needed it the most. I am consistently impressed and INSPIRED by the parents I meet in coffee talks and in seminars. TACA is my tribe. ❤️❤️ -Olga

The Autism Community in Action is the most selfless, helpful, passionate, giving organization I've ever known. The great majority of their leaders are 100 percent volunteers, just trying to share what they've learned the hard way, to help others have an easier path and help all children thrive to their fullest potential! A very worthy and inspiring organization!

TACA is a truly selfless organization. It's Families helping Families. Nothing to be gained but to see other families thrive and improve. The goal grew out of families affected by Autism wanting to share, to help one another do the best for themselves and affected family or friends that they can. As it's grown, that goal has not changed, but the power and reach of TACA has! I LOVE this organization and am proud to volunteer as part of it. Every week, if not every day, I see people helped as part of this great organization!

Have you ever had that moment when you’ve found your tribe? That is what TACA has been to our family through online resources, parent mentors, local coffee talks, and incredible conferences bringing the best minds and hearts under one roof for education and connection. The thing I hear most from parents is how isolating this journey can be. TACA, more than any other resource breathes life back into families and creates community on this path. I’m honored to share our Journey Guide resource at Coffee Talks and even more blessed by the leadership of TACA.

When my son was only 18 months old he already had early intervention therapy for speech, occupational, psychological and intensive behavior therapy. It was extremely overwhelming for me as a new parent. The criticism came from all sides- family, friends and strangers.
I felt defeated until I found TACA and other parents who not only understood my child’s behaviors, but guided me to the exact services and support he needed.

TACA helped my child blossom to the happy and social, pre-teen he is today. I am forever grateful for the resources and support we have had from TACA for the last 7 years.

TACA mentors have shared their time with me to explain about the state sponsored health insurance for my daughter with ASD, and now she has two insurances to cover 100% of her medical bills, including ABA, OT, PT, and play therapy. TACA mentor has helped me to understand about MAPS doctors, and I have seen my daughter improve in her health with a HUGE POSITIVE CHANGES that makes all other therapies much more successful. Their moral support, the information resources, and stories filled with hope gives me hope for our family and I can’t help but to share this organization to other parents with children with ASD and pay it forward by volunteering to share resources, support, and hope with other parents.

Our son was diagnosed with severe autism as a child. We were given no hope or direction from medical professionals who told us to concentrate on our other son because we’d most likely have to institutionalize him prior to the age of two.

Thankfully we didn’t listen and found TACA. Families supporting families have assisted us to not only suppprt our son with autism, but our entire family.

Hope is a powerful verb and it worjs! Thank you TACA for all you’ve done and to all of the staff and so many volunteers who give of themselves daily, much appreciation!

TACA is a game changer! As parents with a 23 year old with ASD we were constantly searching for the latest in resources for our daughter. I attended a 3 day TACA national conference a few years ago and could not believe the amazing resources/studies right before my eyes. From that point on I joined my local TACA coffee talk group and have found such amazing support and information during our monthly gatherings. TACA is without a doubt the best national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families going through the ASD journey by providing resources and offering ongoing support.

TACA was there for me when my son was diagnosed with autism at age 2, I wish all parents knew about this amazing organization and all the amazing staff and volunteers that are available to help you navigate your child’s options. It is literally my dream that upon an ASD diagnosis, neurologists would hand parents TACA’s Journey Guide and let them know there’s hope and they’re not alone.

TACA has been my family since my daughter's diagnosis. All you have to do is ask and you have an amazing group of parents and professionals to help you figure out how to help your child. TACA is unique because they truly share the daily struggles, triumphs with you. On days that you are in tears they are there, on days you are elated with the progress your child has made they are there. Such a blessing.

TACA has absolutely changed my whole family for the better. When my son was diagnosed with Autism, a friend told me that I had to go to a TACA meeting. Before that, I was lost and alone. Once I got there, I was lifted up by a community of other autism parents who could guide me with their "been there/done that" expertise that has made our journey so much easier. TACA gave me the resources and confidence to help my son deal with his medical issues and educational struggles. He is doing so much better and I owe it all to TACA!

My son was diagnosed with autism in 2008 at age 2. After the diagnosis, my husband and I felt completely overwhelmed and alone. It wasn't until a TACA mom spotted us at a birthday party and asked if our child had a diagnosis. She lead us to our first TACA coffee talk. From that moment on, we were not alone. We had support, we had guidance and we had a plan. At the first meeting, I was giving a magnificent Journey Guide which I still rely on to this day. It was filled with information on all things about treating autism. And even better, I have a community of families who have been through the same things we are going through. I have monthly Coffee Talks and meetings, as well as a nationwide community through TACA's yahoo groups. Whenever I have a questions, I just e-mail it to the group and by the end of the day, I have an answer from someone who has the answer. Without TACA, my child simply wouldn't have made the gains he has. He has gone from a non-verbal, uncommunicative toddler without eye contact and with serious behavior issues to an incredibly verbal, smart, funny and loving boy who amazes us every day. TACA guided us to the best traditional therapies and providers for us, the GFCFSF diet (which was the first step in his recovery) to other biomedical treatments. We were lucky to receive one of TACA's scholarships to see a MAPS/DAN! doctor. Now we have a traditional and biomedical protocol that is actually healing our son. Thanks to TACA and doctor advice, we started B12 shots for our son on January 1, 2012 (almost a year ago). At that point he had simple 5 word sentences and limited eye contact. The morning after the first shot when we came into his bedroom, he looked us straight in the eye and said, "Good morning Mommy and Daddy. I'm playing with my Harry Potter legos. Would you like to join me? It's lots of fun!" We were speechless. And we are grateful. And now I am a TACA mentor. I want to share this information that only families with Autism have acquired. Thank you TACA! TACA is the best thing that has happened to us since Autism!

When my son was diagnosed with autism, we didn't know where to turn for help and everyone we talked to gave us conflicting advice. 12 years later, I'm amazed at how TACA has truly changed the landscape and the lives of these children. Our kids are less sick and less impaired because of TACA. Thank you for being such a blessing to us and others!

I love how TACA has amazing resources to help inform and support families affected by Autism. The fact that they have a growing number of chapters throughout the US, means they are supporting these same families on the local community level!
I am a volunteer for TACA and I'm happy that I can help mentor families through the early stages of diagnosis and finding community and state resources that they NEED to help their child(ren). What a great benefit to the autism community!

Without TACA my son would probably not be alive. Literally. Families need groups like TACA to help them help their children. The guidance and support this group has provided over the years is immeasurable. Parent Mentors, grants, training, recommendations for providers. I could go on and on. The website is hands down the most comprehensive and informative place for autism that exists. I have been grateful for all TACA has done for my my family in the past 16 years.

The support I received through TACA has literally saved my son's life! We have been on this autism adventure for over fifteen years and I can honestly say the TACA team of talented volunteers have been there every step of the way. They have connected me to fabulous physicians, provided endless informative trainings, provided mentoring support, and helped with a scholarship recently when my son's illness forced me to leave my job as a single mom. Meeting LIsa back in 2003 and becoming part of the TACA family has been the best thing that could happen to us. We are TACA strong because of the fabulous support this group provides family each and every day.

We have been on the autism journey with our son for over 9 years now. Before TACA we felt isolated, overwhelmed and desperately needed friendship, support and useful information to help us with our son. We found this and more with TACA. TACA's mentor program got us connected and we haven't looked back since then. That was when our son was just about 3. He is almost 12 now. Thank you TACA.

When my son was diagnosed at 2 1/2 we were devasted and trying to cope as well as we could as there were 2 other girls in our family that were 6 and 8 at the time and they needed us to. We needed emotional, medical, nutritional help and more and TACA helped us with all of that. I am now proudly a TACA mentor and do my best to help guide new families on this journey the way my mentor did 6 years ago. Thanks TACA

TACA is an amazing organization that was helped my family and countless other families. When my son was little and going through intensive ABA, there was one Christmas when I realized that we didn't have enough money to buy my son's medicines, get him and toy and have a Christmas dinner. TACA adopted my family for the holiday and sent us 2 months worth of my son's meds, they sent toys, food and moral support - Basically they sent Christmas. I have never and will never forget that Christmas and what TACA did for us.

TACA is the reason our son went from non-verbal and severely delayed (over 50% across all areas) to a mainstreamed highly verbal elementary student. TACA is a group of people dedicated to helping other families find the resources and support they need to help their children affected by autism. The money goes to help families with everything from workshops, mentors, events, educational materials and professional advice. Most importantly it is a support network where you get not just the information you need, but a big hug from someone who REALLY understands. Sometimes, just knowing someone is there to answer your call and let you cry until you are done, is more valuable than anything else. But your mentor, won't let you drown in pity, they will also give you the kick in the pants to go back out there and fight. The people at TACA give you strength when you don't know if you can take another day.
