Volunteering Oportunities

Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals, Veterinary Services

Mission: The Animal Rights Alliance Inc., T.A.R.A., is addressing one of the greatest causes of animal suffering, pet overpopulation. Our mission is to reduce the number of stray, abandoned and unwanted cats and dogs from coming into a system that cannot hold them. This will stop the killing and create more good homes. Our organization operates a low-cost, high-volume, high-quality feline mobile spay/neuter clinic in its 15th year of operation. In addition, we also opened a stationary state-of-the-art spay/neuter clinic, focused on dogs, in April 2014. The T.A.R.A. stationary clinic is located in Middletown, New York.

TARA is such a wonderful organization, doing good things for our community to help control the cat population. They come to my neighborhood, took great care of my cats and made the cost of spaying affordable. Surgery was efficient and done with little trauma to my cats. Our cats were ready at time of pickup and they gave us complete care instructions for post-surgery. I can't say enough about their good work, the service they provide, the convenience of a mobile truck and at an affordable price. TARA rocks!

This is a wonderful non-profit and an excellent organization!! I had numerous cats spayed with TARA and the staff is professional, caring and dedicated. Follow their directions and your cat will be back to normal the next morning. If you are lucky enough to have an organization subsidize your fee, you can be eligible for reduced cost. Thank you TARA for all that you do for the community and the cat population!

I have an association with The Animal Rights Alliances since 2009 as a Board Member of Will Spay Pets, Inc. They have provided their spay/neuter services for over 4,000 cats and dozens of pit bulls. They are a dedicated and responsible organization that has helped provide an invaluable low cost spay/neuter service to the community...amounting in the tens of thousands of animals. Kudos to Stephen and Rose Tardif...incredible people.

Since 2009 Will Spay Pets, Inc. has contracted with The Animal Rights Alliance to provide it spay/neuter services. Thus far over 4,000 cats have been fixed. TARA has helped us keep our mission and goals to end euthanasia as a means of animal overpopulation control. They have made great strides in educating the public about the importance of spay/neuter.

I am the President of a non-profit Animal Shelter in Goshen,NY and have used the services of TARA for many years. Without TARA, there would be 1,000’s more cats and dogs because people wouldn’t be getting their animals spayed and neutered. Steve and Rose Tardiff wore tirelessly to make sure TARA stays alive. I am very thankful for them.

I have been volunteering at TARA (The Animal Rights Alliance Inc.) for approximately the past two months. TARA mainly provides low-cost spay/neuter, vaccinations, and dental work for cats and dogs. Everyone at TARA is very hard working and kind to the cats and dogs. They are definitely working to help reduce animal over- population, suffering, and improve cats' and dogs' health and quality of life.

TARA makes it affordable to provide the necessary care your animals need. Everyone is professional and helpful. The mobile clinic is amazing as well! One of our cats was neutered through TARA and it was a great experience.

My husband and I brought our 3 kittens here for their spay surgeries, the staff were amazing and made us feel so Comfortable with them. Our 1st kitten had passed when she had her spay surgery we told them this and they called us right after their surgery to let us know everything was fine. All 3 of our girls did amazing, I recommend them all the time!

I had our two male cats neutered with T.A.R.A. recently & was very impressed how well they did post op. They acted like nothing changed immediately after getting them home. The staff was friendly & informative. I would recommend them to anyone needing this procedure.

I oversee a small animal shelter and have known the owners of T.A.R.A. for quite sometime now. Without them there would be literally thousands of unsprayed/un neutered cats running and around reproducing by the day. They're commit to animals (now dogs too) in our county and surrounding area is nothing less than incredible!! Because of them we are able to spay and neuter all our animals before leaving our facility. Warm and loving people (and their staff) committed to the welfare of all animals.

Our sanctuary has been using The Animal Rights Alliance for many years for all of our spay and neuter services. We are extremely happy with the care and attention they have provided our sanctuary's cats. We have found them to be professional, courteous, thorough, compassionate and clean. They are very passionate about their mission. They have altered hundreds of our cats and we have never had a single problem. We highly recommend them to anyone seeking low cost spay/neuter services.
