The 'Thanks, Mom and Dad Fund' was a game-changer for fall prevention programs during the challenging 2020-2021 COVID-19 pandemic. When in-person classes at senior centers were no longer an option, the Fund quickly pivoted to help us bring these vital programs online through telemedicine. They went above and beyond—organizing essential trainings, tracking outcomes, and finding solutions to every hurdle along the way. Their dedication ensured that older adults could continue learning safe, effective fall prevention techniques from home. Truly impressive support!

I have been working with The Thanks Mom & Dad Fund for about 4 years. My organization has partnered with them to improve the lives of older adults in Georgia. They are a joy to work with. Thanks Mom and Dad is an organization that truly lives up to its mission.  They respect and support older adults in communities across the state of Georgia.  The grant funds provided by Thanks Mom and Dad have helped us enhance the quality of life of older adults and disabled Georgians by promoting independence, health, and social connection.  We at Sowega Council on Aging are grateful for the partnership with Thanks Mom & Dad as we continue in serving older and disabled adults in our 14-county region. 

Thanks Mom & Dad Fund (TM&DF) has been such a blessing to the Aging Provider network in the Coastal Area. Early in the Pandemic they reached out to all the Area Agencies on Aging in the state and asked what they could do to help our service providers. It was still early days in the pandemic and the demand for PPE had far exceeded local supplies. Thanks Mom and Dad Fund came through for us and provided a large supply of Masks and hand sanitizer for each AAA in Georgia, which we were able to distribute to our service providers in the community. Because of this we were able to transport individuals to services, serve individuals in their homes, have limited senior center opening with social distancing, and much more. All of this in a time when PPE was difficult to find and expensive to buy.
In the period following the national public health emergency, TM&DF partnered with Georgia Health Policy Center for the collection of data and reporting for successful practices put in place by providers statewide in response to the pandemic. This Reimagining Post-Pandemic Planning document was made available to Aging Networks statewide for post-pandemic program development.
In recent years, TM&DF has awarded annual grants to senior centers for the purposes of Innovating and Modernizing their programs. Proposals by our Senior Centers included technology purchases, exercise equipment, foreign language courses, raised bed gardening systems, and educational trips.
For at least the last 4 years, TM&DF has partnered with Emory University and AAAs statewide for the development and implementation of Evidence Based health and wellness programs and workshops for Elderly and Disabled individuals. This partnership resulted in incentives to the aging network to grow and expand existing offerings, including online or virtual options, and the creation of a statewide website through which participants could register for specific EBP programs. These programs addressed the needs of seniors in areas like self-managing disease and health issues, falls prevention, and personal safety.
Thanks, Mom & Dad Fund is not just a charitable donor. They are partners. They stay involved with the Aging Provider Network such that they know and understand our needs and our pain points.

Thanks Mom and Dad has been a valuable resource to the counties we serve at Three Rivers Area Agency on Aging (AAA). Through grants to our local senior centers we have been able to expand services and programs to benefit our growing population of seniors. These grants assist many with much needed equipment' that is vital to their operation, provides resources for much needed new programs and help in the development of new services to help our seniors of greatest need. Thanks Mom and Dad has also provided resources, training and support through the years to AAA's. Our Aging network is very fortunate to have Thanks Mom and Dad to further the success of our work with the senior population.

The Thanks Mom & Dad Fund is a charity created to honor parents, grandparents and mentors by supporting programs and services for the aging population. It works to improve the quality of life for older adults and honors the contributions of older adults one generation to another by raising funds and making grants to agencies serving them.

As a donor, and a fortunate child whose parents are alive, it's important to me that I support programs whose funds directly support older adults- a reality that that most of us will face, God willing, at some point in our lives.

For my husband, whose Mother had Alzheimer's, the Thanks Mom and Dad Fund was quick to help advise him/us on what services are available and numerous resources to help us think about and consider as we moved through that horrendous journey.

Specifically, they helped us become aware of such services as as transportation (perhaps a ride to the doctor when I may have to be at work), home delivered meals for the homebound , adult day care, etc. (for those children that might be too far away to provide for their parents, ie, another state.)

It's a one f a kind, but one kind we all need to be thinking of- our own parents and planning for them becoming older adults.

The Thanks Mom & Dad Fund is there when you need them. Allocating funds to Seniors through various organizations. Providing Seniors, their children, and caregivers the tools and most importantly information to help.
They support groups who get Seniors to doctors appointments & bring meals to the home bound.

Thanks Mom & Dad has been such a great resource for the network of aging services in Georgia! During the early stages of the COVID-19 Crisis Thanks Mom & Dad was able to organize and provide much needed Personal Protective Equipment to the aging network of providers! Also, their innovation grants have provided wonderful opportunities for the aging network to expand and improve aging services!

We have worked with the Thanks Mom & Dad Fund, Inc. for over 5 years. They coordinate with the State Unit on Aging to give Senior Center Innovation Grants every year which help our centers to do innovative projects to help their clients. Last year, during the worst of the pandemic, the Thanks Mom & Dad Fund arranged for the AAA's in Georgia to each receive 100,000 face masks to share with seniors and providers. They are a valuable partner to the Aging Network in GA.

When money was not available to purchase Personal Protective Equipment for caregivers to safely take care of their clients, Thanks Mom & Dad quickly stepped in to take care of this need as funds would allow.

This is an excellent nonprofit that provides needed assistance by funding important services for seniors. Their work during the COVID-19 pandemic has been outstanding in assisting service providers in obtaining scarce Personal Protective Equipment. Each year they select worthwhile projects to fund, filling the gaps that make possible improvements in the lives of many Georgia seniors. They also support valuable education for senior providers and help to influence positive changes in public policy.

A fantastic charity that helps the senior citizens and elderly. They work tirelessly to raise money and awareness -all to help the senior class. Highly recommend supporting them!

This was a start for my learning journey in order to gather as much information as possible as a caregiver for my Mom. What a great idea to thank our parents, and all that have come before us, by providing funds to help with senior services! The funding need is huge, as I also discovered, in meeting others as a former volunteer with our county's senior services division.

I first discovered Thanks Mom and Dad when I was searching for services for my dad and found that many organizations were over capacity and unable to help. Through grants, Thanks Mom & Dad helps organizations reach those in need. After my dad passed away, instead of flowers, we asked for donations to the Thanks Mom & Dad Fund. Over the years, I have watched the organization grow and through their efforts help more organizations provide services to assist our elders.

This organization works miracles for seniors in Atlanta. They give wonderful elder-care advice and give financial support to senior exercise programs, senior meals delivery, and rides to doctor visits just to name a few. They helped us raise funds last year when my dear uncle was very sick. They are a pillar in the community and my family will never forget their help!

This charity is one that is near and dear to my heart. We all stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. The Thanks Mom & Dad Fund honors them by giving to fellow Seniors and caregivers. That Mother or Father, Grandmother our Grandfather who was instrumental in making you the person you are today is honored and donations go to the growing populations of Seniors and caregivers in the Atlanta area.

My name is Jocelyn Dorsey and I have been a television broadcaster in Atlanta for more than 45 years. I have served in the Board of the Thanks Mom & Dad Fund for 15 years because I see how the organization fills the unmet needs of older adults, encourages program innovation and increases services for older adults. It does this by honoring the contributions of older adults one generation to another by raising funds and making grants to agencies serving them. I feel that the biggest contribution of Thanks Mom and Dad is helping to support smaller non-profits providing services to the elderly. These smaller organizations are often over looked for funding, but are critical in serving rural areas of Georgia. I'm honored to be part of an organization that helps aging communities both large and small.

Thanks Mom and Dad is an outstanding foundation that funds an number of services that focus on the seniors with limited resources. Add to that are educational programs that address both the needs of seniors but the workforce as well. As a donor I cannot think of a better not for profit to fund.

This is a very special way to honor parents and thank them for the many years of caring and raising us not only through the years as children, but also throughout adulthood. Dad married my very young widowed Mom many years ago and adopted my brother and I when we were very young. He has always been my true Father. Both of my parents made growing up a special memory for all of us kids. Everything was done for family and they are both my true hero's and have greatly influenced how I raised my own son. Mom was a stay at home Mom, and made every holiday very special, especially Christmas. After Dad sadly passed away 4 years ago, I moved Mom in to live with us for care as she has Alzheimer's. She is now in a care home on hospice in the final stages of the disease. Even though I lost my "true" Mom many years ago, I continue on this journey with her and fill every visit with joy. After all, that is what she taught us "kids" growing up. Thanks Mom and Dad!

This organization has had a tremendous impact on the elderly population, especially in recent years with changes in healthcare and other government programs. I also know at least 2 members of the organization and can vouch for their talents, commitments and dedication.

The Thanks Mom & Dad Fund is unique in that it allows donations to be made in honor of family members or mentors. The funds distributed by the Board provide support to older Americans through non-profit organizations in the Atlanta Metro Area with the strongest need. It is a great idea from a group that does great work!

Thanks Mom and Dad is a necessity in this day and age when so many need so much. It is wonderful to know that when funding is being lost , cut etc. someone still cares enough to fight for and provide for the elderly. People who worked hard all their lives and now in their golden years their reward is poverty. We need to take care of our own and "Thanks Mom and Dad" does just that.

Thanks Mom & Dad Fund helps many local providers of aging services to address the needs of older adults. I appreciate making a donation in thanksgiving for or remembrance of a loved one. I know that my donation will stay in the local area to support services for older adults such as senior centers, meals on wheels and others. I believe in the organization and recommend it often to friends and colleagues both for making donations and applying for a grant for a worthwhile project.

I have seen for myself the energetic and earnest efforts of those who serve this organization and the good work that it does. When my dad passed away, the most natural thing in the world was to name Thanks Mom and Dad as the memorial recipient for those who wished to remember him. I was so pleased to see memorial donations go to those, who perhaps unlike him, did not have a family to turn to when aging made his life difficult. The work that it does and the funds that it raises provides a lifeline to so many deserving non-profits and agencies who are serving the exponentially increasing older adult population. It is expertly, and passionately, run by Maureen Kelly.

The Thanks Mom and Dad fund helps support senior initiatives across the State of Georgia. In my experience with not-for-profits, it is the only organization i have seen to vitually use 100% of its funds to go for seniors causes and none to overheads or adminstrative fees thanks to the exceptional suport of the Atlanta Regional Commission. While based in the Atlanta Metro region, Thanks Mom and Dad accepts and supports many requests from across the entire state. The modest size of the fund limits its impact to less than ten deserving senior organizations each year, so more funding would definitely increase its impact on the lives of seniors.

The Thanks Mom and Dad Fund raises money in Georgia and awards modest annual grants to a number of eldercare organizations around the state. With many worthy organizations deserving help, the Fund attempts to target its grants to the areas where a few thousand dollars can make the greatest amount of difference. It's one of the most dollar-efficient organizations I've had experience with, whether we're speaking of businesses or nonprofits. It can truly be said that the Fund makes a crucial difference in many people's lives.

I am a New Yorker who was in Atlanta for business and a client invited me to join him in attending the annual Gala for the Thanks Mom & Dad Fund. Needless to say, I was blown away by this charitable organization. They are doing something very important for the community and it's clear that their leadership is motivated by kindness and generosity.
