Causes: Family Counseling
Mission: The mission of thames river community service, inc. Is to provide safe housing with support services through permanent housing or through a transitional living program where formerly homeless families are committed to developing healthy relationships, new dignity and a renewed life. This mission is accomplished by creating a supportive environment in which families pursue goals for self-sufficiency, independence from public assistance, and control over their lives. Our programs support the pursuit of significant employment and development of life skills by empowering families to shape a better life, by promoting family wellness, and by enabling families to develop an achievable plan for successful independent living.
Programs: 100% of families in thames river family program who move to permanent housing retain it for at least two years. Children age four and up in thames river family program increase their level of functioning by 9. 1% in the first nine months of residency indicated by the children's global assessment scale. 100% of formerly homeless families in thames river community service, inc. 's supportive housing program have maintained their housing for one year.
