Mission: The mission of the first tee of st. Petersburg is to positively impact the youth of our communities by providing a learning environment and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf, while ensuring fair access for all children.
Programs: At the first tee of st. Petersburg we serve approximately 1,200 youths each year and our program consists of a diverse group of young people. Approximately 35% of our participants are minority and 35% of our participants are female. Of our 1,200 youths, approximately 30% are considered "at risk" as they will have to overcome at least one major obstacle to become fine citizens of our community. These obstacles may include but are not limited to: poverty, broken homes, single parent homes, learning disabilities, etc. . . The first tee programs are offered twelve months a year and include: target clinics, practice & play school programs, saturday half-day programs, full and half day summer camps, tournaments, in-school programs, leagues, outreach programs, a middle school competitive program, inner city programs through local churches, schools, youth organizations, special olympics and academy prep center for learning. Our ultimate long term and ongoing goal is to see the youth who participate in the program become the great future leaders of our community.
what a phenomenal organization this it's in the best part of it is the fact that they teach the kids to life skills not just a game of golf and right now they need lots of donations to help them build their mentoring Center which would help kids who need help with their school work after school give them some Technical Training on computers as well as continue teaching them about Golf and this is this organization reaches out to all kids not just black kids or white kids or kids both boys and girls they help with the getting scholarships to get the kids through to the College of their choice and then this is an organization that goes above and beyond adjust teaching Golf and certainly would like for people to go on the website and take a look at all that they're doing and please if you can donate to help build this wonderful mentoring Center at the golf course that and and and very importantly the mayor of the city of st. Pete has donated the land where the mentoring Center is going to be billed they redesign the golf course so that the First Tee has an area for the kids to train and practice and then it's part of the community and I just want to tell everyone that it is unbelievable what they're doing
