Mission: The mission and vision for Texas Sweeties Dog Rescue is to save dogs of all sizes and all breeds by placing them into loving, forever homes. We are an all-volunteer, foster home based, certified 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization based in Austin, TX. We do not have a physical shelter. Instead, we operate primarily through our foster homes, online databases and at adoption events/expos.
The majority of our animals come from animal control groups and open admission shelters throughout Texas, where overcrowding and overpopulation lead to the euthanasia of millions of healthy, friendly pets every year.
We are committed to providing the dogs that come into Texas Sweeties Dog Rescue with the best possible care while they wait for their forever homes by acclimating them to life outside of a shelter and providing the appropriate veterinary care needed.
We also serve our community and adopters by educating and encouraging responsible pet ownership with an emphasis on the need for spaying and neutering.
We never euthanized animals due to space or time constraints, but we may elect to euthanize in the event of a severe, untreatable/debilitating illness or extremely dangerous behavioral concerns. Because we do not kill to make space, however, we cannot take in every animal that needs help.
Because our foster homes are the backbone of Texas Sweeties, and to help our organization run smoothly, it is our goal to provide the best experience possible. We encourage each foster home to be as involved as they are comfortable with and allow them the freedom to foster based on their needs, restrictions, or desires.
This is such a great organization with a team that comes together when the help is needed. All the foster parents are home based and love and care for their dog as if they were their own.
Five stars for sure. Always there to help and answer questions. No doubt puts their fosters first and researches to find wonderful, stable homes for them.
This organization goes above and beyond to save lives of our furry companions, to educate the public, and find appropriate homes for pets to thrive. There is a lot of love within this organization. I give a 5+ rating!

Being involved in animal rescue for a number of years, I've seen the good, the bad, and the unmentionable. Texas Sweeties is one of the good ones. They do it right. The animals under their care receive great care. I've never seen them turn away an animal just because it's sick. I'm very impressed with their ethics.
Texas Sweeties Dog Rescue saves dogs suffering from various medical conditions by providing whatever veterinary and home aftercare may be needed. Sarah Tirone and her foster caregivers give dogs another chance to lead healthy, happy lives and provides their new owners with wonderful companions for life.
This organization puts their heart and soul into rescuing the 4 legged lives no one else takes the time to see. They do whatever is necessary to give these animals good health, safe dispositions and socialization skills, all the while loving them and finding good homes. They network with others to help animals not in their care and are always advocates for the better treatment and care of our 4 legged friends.

I used to work at a vets office and we had a client with declining health. He had just gotten a puppy and due to his health he was unable to keep it. Sarah at Texas sweeties helped place the dog with a wonderful foster and find him a forever home and the first owner was able to get updates on the puppy he loved so much. Thank you for such a wonderful rescue
Fantastic rescue!!! They never turn away the mother when there are litters in the shelter and they take on a ton of high medical cases. They are a great resource for Texas shelters.
We adopted a dog from Texas Sweeties Dog Rescue. They helped us decide which dog would best fit our family. I can honestly say she has been a blessing to our lives:)
