I've been fortunate enough to have worked with THN since 2006. Numerous grant opportunities; conferences & training workshops have provided the information necessary to not only process grants, but write them. For 16 years I worked for The Salvation Army, with the first 10 from a divisional position. I assisted numerous social service programs state wide & THN has always been a foundation for many programs. Since 2020, as a contractual grant writer, I have assisted nonprofits in several counties obtain funding they have either never had before or haven't had for many years. This has given me an entirely different role & produced a greater relationship with THN staff. THN isn't just a gatekeeper for funding. They are invested in each & every organization assisting them with every level. From grants, HMIS, Homeless Coalitions, CoC's to continuously being offered education & awareness of how to accomplish a common goal - making homelessness brief & nonrecurring. The pic I chose is from the 2016 THN Conference. My friends had never attended & it was such a privilege to expose them to one of my favorite annual events. Keynote speakers, TNOYS representatives, the national USICH rep & all the strategically planned breakout sessions were extremely informative. This is the normal quality THN provides for state organizations to collaborate, stay focused on best practices & most of all, serve in unity while addressing homelessness. I will continue working with statewide nonprofits & supporting them by making sure they are involved with THN. I sincerely appreciate this organization.

THN has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to advocacy for our homeless neighbors. It is a great resource for all service providers in our state. As a board member, I have learned a lot about the organization and how THN connects service providers across the state with resources and information on making homelessness, rare, brief and non-reoccurring. Organizations often look to THN for advice and support to improve the service delivery in urban and rural communities. I am honored to serve on the board and work with an amazing group of individuals who all believe in the mission and vision to help end homelessness.

I walked into the foundation desperate. I was behind on my rent, i had no job and my car had just been repossessed. The day i walked out of the Tracy Andrus Foundation i had a job interview lined up and most of all i had the the confidence to keep going something Dr Andrus said that will stick with me forever is " When people give their life to God their life gets better " i truly believe that what he said saved my life .

THN acts as the central hub, connecting homeless service providers across the state to one essential mission: ending homelessness. Although daunting and seemingly impossible due to the inability of those in power at HUD and our state and federal government to actually make any meaningful financial effort to end homelessness, THN ensures that we as a collective are pushing in the same direction. Their recent state-wide conference was inspiring and informative, showing us that the road to a world without homelessness must be traveled together in solidarity.

I have been exceptionally proud to be part of the Texas Homeless Network Board for the past three years. THN does an exceptional job maximizing resources to help communities end homelessness across the state. During the pandemic THN helped bring millions in new HUD grants to connect people experience homelessness with housing and supportive services. Their ability to scale and provide these services is truly inspiring, particularly in rural communities without an active network of providers. In a time when homelessness is a growing issue and in a state that is increasingly hostile to the people we serve one bright spot are the dedicated and compassionate folks at THN. The give hope, support, and inspiration to the Texans dedicated to ending homelessness and I appreciate all they do!

I am excited to serve as a Board Member of the Texas Homeless Network, in the work of reducing homelessness throughout the State of Texas. Of particular interest is the ability to expand the Data Sharing Network designed to improve the livelihood of Texans experiencing homelessness. This is a fantastic service that can be replicated nationwide in an effort to provide services to the homeless population while assisting in the efforts to end chronic homelessness and to reduce the incidences of homelessness.

This story began back during the Texas Winter Freeze and I GREGORY DREAD, as a participant/member of THN while living in a SRO in Houston TX, I was unexpectedly awarded a subsidy to assist with food, heating and loss due to the Winter Freeze. Since that moment I have actively encouraged and engaged in meetings, advocacy and webinars for THN. Additionally, when I applied for a scholarship with NAEH to attend the Washington D.C. conference and denied by the NAEH: it was THN(Mari & Eri) who provided me with a scholarship to attend. I can continue with a litany of actions, services and support from THN, but restrictions of words and commentary will not allow me to.

Our CoC, TX-624, has been able to obtain information from Texas Homeless Network (THN) in helping us with situations that presented as barriers to providing services to persons needing assistance with housing. This has helped in ensuring households with children, senior citizens, veterans, etc. are able to secure and maintain housing. They've provided resources and avenues to information we were unaware of when working with our populations. They've kept us abreast of legislation and other actions that affect persons who find themselves in a homeless situation. THN is the "google" of knowledge for helping in housing dilemmas for our CoC. If we don't know it, can't find it, we know who will work with us on the situation. We are very grateful to have THN in Texas working with our residents on housing needs.

Texas Homeless Network works tirelessly to not only build up communities across the state in order to make homelessness rare, brief and non-reoccurring. They also buildup VISTAs, volunteers, staff, associates and more to carry on that mission into the communities in and outside of Texas as well. They have done NOTHING to help my woman there in Texas. I've been calling them, had one message on phone and he told me to call later, the result: no one answers the phone! I called more than 15 times at different dates and times in accordance to the texas time zone.

I believe their heart is in the right place, but from what I've experienced, they do NOTHING. I still hope that she can get help, and she is in a serious situation where medicines and food are what she needs every day, and no one helping her, except me which is unemployed and don't even live in the same country.

BAD.
