Tham provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services with specialized capabilities in many areas including: women's services, comprehensive cardiac care, respiratory, orthopedics, digestive health, neurosurgery, oncology, a level iii neonatal intensive care unit, and a level iv trauma certification. The hospital runs an outpatient clinic treating a variety of patient populations providing care for chronic illnesses, prenatal care and anticoagulation management. Tham is a hospital recognized with honors including: advanced certification from the joint commission as a primary stroke center, certification through the joint commission for heart failure and chest pain programs, accreditation from the national accreditation program for breast centers, designation from the american college of radiology as a breast imaging center of excellence, accreditation as a diabetes self-management education center through the american diabetes association, baby-friendly designation by the world health organization, a cycle iii chest pain center and an accredited acute hearrt failure center. It was one of the first hospitals in north texas to be named a center of excellence in minimally invasive gynecology. In 2014, tham achieved magnet recognition for patient care and nursing excellence and opened a 35 bed inpatient and outpatient behavior health center serving both adult and adolescent patients. Tham had 67,862 patient days, 13,425 discharges, 1,970 births, 104,844 outpatient encounters, and 73,164 emergency room visits during the year. Tham provides quality medical healthcare services regardless of the patient's race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, age or ability to pay. Tham provides care to persons covered by governmental programs, including medicare and medicaid, for reimbursement that does not always cover the cost of providing the care.
