The diligence and care taken by the staff to get your pet to you are beyond the normal.
From my many emails, phone calls and worries I now have Bruce Wayne beside me as I write this. He has had a tumultuous little life for his 8 months and is settling in well, thanks to TCR.
Thanks particularly to Tracy McAllister for her endless patience.
Top notch organization, thank you all. Bruce has gone from an XS to a S size, LOL.
I adopted my dog from here. The process was great ! It was easy and organized. When I picked up my dog I met all the wonderful volunteers. Everyone was so nice and you could tell how much they cared. I couldn’t be happier.
I had the pleasure of adopting Bambi from TXCR. Every interaction I had with their volunteers was positive and supportive. I could see that they are passionate and dedicated to what they do. Thank you!
We recently welcomed Jefe (formerly Lorre) into our family. Such a sweet loving boy. Full of energy and obedient at the same time. Loves everyone he meets. We are all in love and he is now the "man" of the house.
Can't say enough great things about this organization. Was a smooth organized process from beginning to end. Everyone was so kind and our coordinator Shirley was so patient with all of my general dog inquires. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I met Harlee (originally Archer) at an event at PetSmart on 281 north of 1604. I wanted to take him home but needed to think about this since we already have 3 dogs. Of course emotion outweighed logic and 4 days later I put in an application to adopt him. Just a few hours later I got a call from Tamie and picked him up 2 days later. We really love him. It was such a fast, smooth process and 2 other volunteers have checked in on us since we picked him up less than 2 weeks ago. I would recommend anyone to adopt from TCR! Thanks for saving these sweet animals. Dawn K-W
TCR is a great organization to adopt from. They’re very organized and detailed about every step of the adoption process which made it easy as a first time adopter/dog owner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in dog adoption.
Thanks again for all you do!
I can't thank the Texas Chihuahua Rescue enough for all the time, effort, driving, compassion and love they give to the animals they take in. I am extremely grateful to them .... all of them... the volunteers, staff, transport ladies, fosters and everyone else who is working tirelessly to help get these small wonders into the great home's that they so well deserve. the TXCR screens all applicants to ensure they go home to wonderful family's who will love them. without the TXRC I would never have adopted my sweet Rio.
so gratefully yours
Riot (who will remain Riot as the name seems well suited to her) seems to be enjoying her new home in Hamilton. She has been exploring non-stop between naps and trying very hard to get her new dachshund friend to play with her. Tomorrow she starts puppy training. Thank you so much for brining Riot into our lives.
Texas chihuahua Rescue, gave me the opportunity to help give a puppy a brand new home. Honestly, there is no better feeling in the world. I never knew what I was walking into but, with the help of everyone at the TCR, it was easy for me to find my best friend. She's the best thing that has ever happened to me and I owe it all to them. Each time I look into her eyes, I feel happy knowing that I truly did save a life.
I’m so so happy with Mixi formally known as Devin. She’s the perfect fit for our family and she is doing great! Potty training is going well also!! Her new brother Emmitt love her so much they are best friends!! Thank so much Texas Chihuahua Rescue!!
My husband and I had a very positive experience from beginning to end. These volunteers love what they do. They deeply care for the dogs and it shows. At every turn they were responsive, helpful, informative, *honest* and KIND - throughout the adoption process. Thank you, Texas rescue! We love our furry angel very much!
Thank you so much for our second amazing addition Pluto. We are so thankful for this organization. Such a smooth process from start to finish. Especially the second time around.
The descriptions from the wonderful foster parents are so accurate and really give an accurate picture of the characteristics of the available doggies.
Our mickey has truly found his Pluto thanks to Texas chihuahua rescue.
You are an amazing group of people and our family is forever thankful for this experience.
Very friendly, sweet and helpful people clearly going above and beyond for wee dogs. Their transport to Canada process is amazing!
They are absolutely fantastic to deal with and do an amazing job helping all thees chihuahuas find their forever homes. They care so much and want to make sure that everyone is happy.
We adopted our dog Heights two weeks ago from the program. She is a very friendly and affectionate dog with excellent manners. It is clear that she was fostered and trained very well. She has excellent temperament and manners, she walks well on a leash, is obedient and eats well. Working with the tcr program was very enjoyable and the professional approach they took made us comfortable in the pet we were adopting. We found out about the program from a neighbor who used and recommend it and we would do the same.
We love our new baby from Texas Chihuahua Rescue!! What an awesome place for these homeless puppies and dogs! The people who organize this and all of the kindhearted volunteers who donate their time are number 1 in my book. I was chosen to receive Zeitel who I fell in love with at first glance and love even more now!! Tamie and Catherine I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This is Sancho. We adopted him July 14th 2018 from TXCR and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. We also have two pomchi boys (they’re brothers) and it was such a hard process to adopt them. This was so easy. They gave us back to back emails about information, things we should buy, check in emails once we got him. Also, they did a home visit (or virtual home visit) which really shows how much they love and care for these animals. The rescue has such sweet staff and volunteers! If we were going to adopt another pup we would for sure adopt from TXCR. If your wondering they Spay/Neuter, microchip, deworm (if needed) and vaccinate all pups before adoption which is a great thing.
I would rate TXCR a 5/5 and fully recommend them!!
This has been a very positive experience for us! We adopted Kimmi last weekend and she has adapted very well at our new home. Her previous vet records were provided and her foster owner was very supportive and helpful.
About 2 weeks ago I decided to attend an event this organiation held in Hamilton- this is where I met my little fur-baby Charlie (was Genevieve). I had been in contact with other rescue organizations and I found the process with them to be slow, difficult, and overwhelming.
As soon as I sat Charlie down on my lap I knew that I wanted her to be a part of the family. The volunteers there were beyond sweet and helpful, they assured me they would get Charlie to me as soon as possible. I was nervous due to my negative experiences with rescue organizations but this time it was much different.
They were deligent yet VERY quick, I went to pick Charlie up the following weekend. They were in contact with me answering questions Prior to pickup and still email to checkup on her and offer support.
If you are on the verge of giving up on rescue organizations PLEASE give Texas Chihuahua Rescue a go- you will not regret it!!!! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart
