Our church hosted an annual gift drive and Christmas party for this organization for several years while I served as our Special Events coordinator. The mothers and children were always so grateful for our contributions to them making a better life for themselves. Later while serving as Secretary/Treasurer for another organization, I visited with the director at the time for TBCH and she told me that their needs during the start of the school year far outweighed their needs at Christmas because everyone wants to give at Christmas but most of these kids had little to nothing the rest of the year which was especially hard for school age children. So we began a school supply drive and donate school supplies every year instead of Christmas donations. This is a great organization that offers more than a handout, they offer a hand up to these families.

Mission: Texas baptist children's home embraces children and families in need in order to empower and equip them for a promising future.
Programs: Texas baptist children's home, inc. (tbch), delivers two residential programs that increase resiliency and long-term stability for children and families in crisis. These include campus life, a group residential program for school age children, and family care, a transitional housing program for single mothers and their dependent children. Tbch's trauma-informed services include housing, free professional counseling, independent living services, life skills & parenting training, youth enrichment activities, scholarship assistance, aftercare support, and resource referrals. By helping children and families overcome trauma and equipping them to succeed, tbch can permanently break generational cycles of child abuse and family conflict and ensure greater stability for them and the communities in which they live.
