Mission: Texas Ballet Theater brings world-class ballet to North Texas to engage our community, contribute to the cultural knowledge and inspire an appreciation for the art of dance. While educating and training the next generation of outstanding dancers, we encourage creativity, collaboration and expression and seek to create a nationally recognized environment for dancers and choreographers to develop and showcase their talents.
Programs: Tbt provided 42 high quality ballet performances in fort worth and dallas for 52,655 patrons during the fiscal year ended june 30,2015. Included in the productions was a critically acclaimed world premier of a new ballet, crash, by jonathan watkins. There also was a company premiere of petite mort by jiri kylian. Other productions included family favorites ben stevenson's the nutcracker and sleeping beauty.
tbt provided succesful and demanding training programs in fort worth, texas and richardson, texas. The schools are led by abt and rac certified instructors. The professional division prepares future professional dancers for their careers. Over 400 students from age 3 and up, including adults, were served by the schools.
city dance is a program created to enrich the lives of children of underserved communities across north texas and to develop artists, art patrons and leaders of the future by providing free acfter school ballet lessons to k - 8th graders in participating schools in the metro area. City dance served 890 students in 41 schools and organizations.
