This magical space reflects the long term vision of a number of local craftspeople. It's a remarkable transformation of a former sawmill that employed plenty of the longtime residents of Hiram. Sturdy, well lighted, comfortable, work spaces are home to accomplished artisans, and friendly to novices wishing to learn a craft. The staff are incredibly engaging and attentive to anyone just visiting or working on a project in the Community Workshop. The organization has been blessed with many in kind donations, and has worked diligently to receive well deserved grant funding to assist with buidling renovations. Definitely worth a visit AND they offer spectacular workshops.

Mission: Our mission is to unleash creativity through opportunities in hands-on craft. We have workshop space for established artisans, and hands-on learning opportunities in craft education. Our facility is a former sawmill, and we are striving to re-purpose this site in a meaningful way.
Geographic areas served: Hiram, Maine
Programs: hands-on craft programs, a creative woodworking makerspace program called Rent-a-Bench, and workspaces for established artisans.
