Team Nicholas does absolutely amazing work! The Veghts family works tirelessly, all year round, to advocate for childhood cancer and care for the families whose children are facing a health crisis. The value of providing comfort and a bit of joy to families in the midst of such an intense and challenging phase in their lives is immeasurable. The world is a better place because of Team Nicholas, and the legacy of Nicholas lives on in all the meaningful ways this organization supports others.
Team Nicholas does amazing work for children and their families who are in medical situations. The funds they raise are immediately applied for the benefit of those beautiful children- Legos, holiday gifts, meals for families and more!
Team Nicholas impacts the lives of so many children and families with their generous donations of meals, toys, and supplies. Through these donations, the children to worry less and engage in play and the parents feel comforted and cared for during stressful illnesses, injuries, and hospitalizations.
I've been a donor to Team Nicholas for a couple years. It is amazing to see how they support those hospitals and sick kids. Its always so inspiring to see their updates of new deliveries!
Team Nicholas is an amazing foundation. I stumbled across them several years ago now via their 5k. I absolutely love all they do for sick children and their families. Never in a million years did I ever think I would be on the receiving end of their charity. Last year my son became extremely ill and was hospitalized for a week. One of those days he received a lego set donated by Team Nicholas and it made his life. Mind you he had been in tears just moments before but this act of kindness brought a smile to his face. I literally cried in that moment. Please don’t overlook Team Nicholas and all they do! They’re constantly giving back to children and their families in such a time of need.
I’ve always loved everything that Team Nicholas has stood for but never thought my family would be on the receiving end of things. While my son wa hospitalized last week he was lucky enough to receive a LEGO set donated by Team Nicholas and it literally made his day! As sick as he was that set brought a huge smile not only to his face but mine as well! We will always be grateful for all Team Nicholas does for the patients and their families.
The thing that sets Team Nicholas apart, is the level of dedication. Donation for donation, dollar for dollar your contribution to Team Nicholas goes directly where it will do the greatest good. There is no overhead or administrative cost to dilute your donated dollar. The founding family completely offsets these costs. Team Nicholas brings a ray of light to the families of critically ill children, in some of their darkest times. As an organization they never stop looking for ways to make this difficult situation easier for the children and the parents. To to this, it takes personal experience, understanding, and commitment from people who have been through it. That’s what Team Nicholas is all about.
My family has been involved with Team Nicholas since it began. This amazing family has been a ray of sunshine for many other families going through the same battles they endured with their beautiful son Nicholas. Team Nicholas always goes above and beyond to help those in need. We are so proud to be part of Team Nicholas.
Team Nicholas is outstanding! When I reached out about 2 years ago in my local moms group regarding my 17 year old nephew who had just been diagnosed with cancer, Team Nicholas reached out to me and sent some amazing items and good thoughts and vibes to my nephew and his family. Organizations like this are so wonderful as they help families and kids deal with the affects cancer has on their lives.
Team Nicholas is absolutely wonderful organization. I met them through 1 of their meal donations to Comer children's hospital when our daughter was fighting Leukemia.
To have a home made meal while staying in hospital for over a month was great feeling.
All their toys, gift cards, art supplies and meals are so very much appreciated by kids and their parents.
I know every penny they get through donations is spend very well. They not just supply children's hospital with all the goodies for kids and their parents, but they also deliver food to RMH and serve patients and parents warm delicious food every month.
Team Nicholas is a great organization who donate toys, art supplies, gift cards and snack to kids in Comer Children's hospital . Also food to Ronald Mc Donald houses around Chicago. They never forget about parent and help them celebrate mother's or father's day while they're in hospital with kids.
When they found out new kid was diagnosed with cancer, they always try to help. I'm proud to volunteer with Team Nicholas and very happy to collect legos for their special hospital deliveries
Team Nicholas always goes above and beyond to make sure children, who unfortunately have to spend a holiday in the hospital, still have a special day. They donate to many hospitals in the area, and also volunteer and feed families at Ronald McDonald Houses! They are so generous and have even bigger hearts!
My son is a special needs person & has been an inpatient at Comer Children's Hospital many times. One year, we found ourselves admitted for Easter. My son was very sick at the time so there was no chance that we could leave. It was sort of a depressing day for all of us. At some point though, the Easter bunny came around to visit each room. Now, he couldn't come into ours because of contact precautions, but he did drop off a green Easter basket for my son. Sidenote about my son, he is extremely particular about what he interacts with, and he has extreme aversion for being in the hospital. So he gets his Easter basket, and there's maybe 1 thing in there that he would normally play with, but he got his basket & dumped everything in the bed with him, arranged every piece around himself then held onto that basket and went to sleep and you couldn't remove any item from his bed or take the basket from him and that lasted until we left. That basket and the stuff in it brought him some kind of security & comfort during the rest of his stay. It was very surprising to me. And actually, this happened about 6 or 7 years ago but he still has that green basket and will carry it around for a few minutes from time to time, still. That basket came from Team Nicholas. I had never heard of them before that Easter. At some point I saw the label that said Team Nicholas and I asked the nurse about it and she told me what it is and she was actually one of the nurses who took care of Nicholas and she told us about him and his family. I started following them on social media eventually and I see all of the things they do for children and families like mine. They know exactly what to do to help. They know the dreadfulness, the monotony, the sorrow, loneliness and how unbelievably expensive living at the hospital with your sick child can be. The meals that Team Nicholas provides, the toys & gift cards, the baskets, presents and celebrations are things that truly do make a difference in people's lives. The way that this family has dedicated themselves to serving others in the name of their son is humbling & awe inspiring to me. When your child is sick & admitted in the hospital, your world shrinks drastically. Small things seem liable to make it break you in that environment. Team Nicholas brought my little boy unexpected comfort. Team Nicholas have us a reason to smile when we were actually least expecting it. I'm sure I'm not the only family with a similar feeling and/or experience thanks to Team Nicholas.
I have volunteered at their 5k the last several years. They do great work with food and LEGO donations to patients and their families.
Team Nicholas benefits children and families in the area, bringing warmth and smiles when needed most. Recipients of their Legos, Easter baskets, and warm meals are so appreciative. Joanna, her family, and her team of volunteers do amazing things throughout the year as they honor Nicholas.
Team Nicholas has been providing families of hospitalised children with gifts, food and supplies for years. They have touched so many lives!
Team Nicholas is an AMAZING foundation. Joanna, the founder is the sweetest most genuine person. Who took the tragedy of losing her son and turned it into a non selfish act of kindness. I have been honored to be able to volunteer, donate and help Team Nicholas anyway possible. They help countless people in a dark time. Team Nicholas is the hope, love and light so many people need to see and feel. I can never say enough wonderful things about this organization. I encourage everyone to get involved with them and make a huge difference in someone's life.
When my 7 yr old son was diagnosed with Leukemia my whole world dropped. The unknown was the scariest existence I had ever felt. Because of the great support brought by Joanna and Team Nicholas my son was gifted many great things. Dinners both at the hospital and at the Ronald McDonald house. A brand new iPad. Many Lego sets. Moms and Dads received mothers day and fathers day baskets. We were inpatient for 11 months. And not a day went by that Team Nicholas wasn't contributing some sort of support. They are truly dedicated to sharing Nicholas with all of us. The most generous gift of all is that. Thank you Team Nicholas. ❤
Team Nicolas is great! My son was in the hospital and they delivered free food for the families at Edward hospital. It's an amazing organization!
Team Nicholas has been amazing.. as a nurse taking care of the patients they give you, it’s wonderful to see the smiles when the kids recieve gifts from them. What an amazing family-turning their heartbreak into smiles for others.. simply amazing!
I have volunteered with this wonderful organization a couple of times, and it has always been an honor to do so.
Team Nicholas does so many great things, and I wish I could give more to be a bigger help.
