Tay-Bandz is a personal charity for my entire famiy as we were lucky enough to know Taylor and to watch her battle her cancer for 5+ years -- she continues to be an inspiration for all of us! This charity is making a real difference in the lives of children - througth their funding of critical tumor reseach and their continuous battle in DC to bring more attention and funding to pediatric cancer.
Tay-bandz,inc / Kids curing cancer raises awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research. Every Dollar received by this charity benefits directly pediatric cancer research. There is no overhead expense as the organization is run purely by volunteers. Tay-bandz is all about kids helping kids so that: 'someday no child will ever have to face cancer'. It is an amazing organization and i am thrilled to be a part of it!
It has been an honor to serve on the board of Tay-Bandz as a way to promote the legacy of Taylor Matthews and the mission of the organization to advocate, fundraise and support research to find a cure for pediatric cancer.
Taylor was and continues to be a great inspiration to the Tay-Bandz board members, volunteers, contributors and friends. It is a privilege to continue the work that Taylor started and to work so that one day, no child will be diagnosed with cancer. In the meantime, this organization is doing all it can to raise awareness and raise funds to develop new treatments. We deeply appreciate everyone's support. There is no donation too big or too small. Tay-Bandz is a charity that not only needs your support, it deserves your support.
Tay- bandz continues Taylor Matthews legacy of helping to save the lives of children with cancer. They will never falter in their commitment to children.
Tay-bands is an organization that I completely trust to use every cent of my donation to make a tangible impact for pediatric cancer research. They have already seen fabulous results from the treatments and studies they have funded. The dudiligence that they do in advance of providing funding, and their level of involvement afterwords is impeccable. If you're looking to make a real difference with your time or money this is the place to go.
I have volunteered for Tay- bandz for many years. This year donations and awareness have increased substantially due to the release of a new book, Paint Your Hair Blue, which tells a personal story of Taylor’s journey through cancer. It is a story of living, not dying, despite a cancer diagnosis.
A portion of the book proceeds will be donated to Tay- bandz. I am proud to be part of the endeavor which has increased the grants Tay bandz has funded
My sister founded Tay-Bandz with the vision that "someday, no child will ever have to face cancer." As the years have gone by, I've been filled with pride as my family, our friends, and compassionate volunteers have worked to come closer and closer to fulfilling her dream. At Tay-Bandz we believe that every penny should be spent on the most cutting-edge research and treatment so that we can promise our donors and supporters that their money goes further with us. We make careful, informed decisions and fund programs that deliver real results. Our track record speaks for itself - whether it be in our funding of precision medicine at Columbia Presbyterian or trials at the National Cancer Institute. I'm proud that we're a part of finding 21st century cures for pediatric cancer. We're also actively involved in advocating for children with pediatric cancer, bringing information and awareness to our country's lawmakers and demanding that childhood cancer be given its due. I believe in Tay-Bandz and its goals.
The Taylor Matthews Foundation/tay-bandz is extremely dedicated to helping to save children with cancer. The foundation is now 13 years old and has never faltered in their commitment to children. Taylor Matthews founded tay-bandz when she was 11 years old and diagnosed with cancer. Her legacy continues through the foundation and 2018 publication of a book written to help parents of children with cancer, anyone with cancer or a chronic illness. The book, Paint Your Hair Blue, encourages people to live life to the fullest just as feisty and fun way Taylor lived her life..
Paint Your Hair Blue has raised awareness of pediatric cancer and generated significant donations.
I have had the pleasure of knowing the Taylor Matthews Foundation / tay-bandz since its inception and serving on its board for over eight years. Taylor's spirit, strength, and humanity pervade everything the foundation does. Funds raised by the Foundation support cutting-edge, life-saving treatments that make a world of difference to families in battle. The foundation seeks to support families in every way possible: from funding research, to a website filled with support and helpful advice, to helping effect change in the process by which treatments for children are brought to market. It is an honor to serve on this board.
Tay-bandz is an extraordinary organization focused on funding pediatric cancer treatments that will reach sick kids now, not years from now. The blog helps families in battle against pediatric cancer with practical advice, psychological support, and news updates. The tay-bandz board also fights tirelessly in DC for expedited drug approvals and greater financial support for pediatric cancer. The founder of tay-bandz, Taylor Matthews, was extraordinary in her commitment to this cause even while she was fighting her own battle. While her war is over, many children in the years to come will benefit from the tireless work she did.
Tay-Bandz is a powerful organization with an important objective. The world is a better place because of Tay-Bandz and its leadership!
I am so proud of Tay-Bandz and the Taylor Matthews Foundation for the work they do to fight Pediatric Cancer. With the release of “Paint Your Hair Blue” this past June, more awareness and support has been generated for this worthy cause. I have seen this charity evolve into a fierce advocate for children and the extreme lack of funding for pediatric patients suffering from all types of cancer. The President, Sue Matthews, is my hero. She has made this charity, her daughter Taylor’s legacy, give strong purpose to her life. She is making Taylor’s dream-that someday no child will have to face cancer-come closer to being true every day.
I have never met a child as determined as Taylor Matthews was. She decided that it was up to her to make a difference and help children with cancer. Her Mom, Susan Matthews, has continued Taylor’s legacy by turning Tay-Bandz into a vital fundraising concern for cutting edge pediatric cancer research. Tay-Bandz is saving lives and raising awareness of the plight of parents struggling for help when a child is diagnosed. This is extremely important work and Tay-Bandz is an excellent steward of donations it receives. Sue and her family are to be commended for their efforts. I am immensely proud to have been a supporter of Tay-Bandz for over a decade. I heartily recommend them for any and all recognition available.
Take a walk thru the Taylor Matthews Solid Tumor Lab at the Children's
Hospital at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and you will see research dollars making a real difference and saving lives! It brings tears to my eyes and is one of the many reasons that I am proud to support this amazing not-for-profit with both my time and money. Founded by Taylor Matthews, an amazing determined teenager that battled osteoscaroma cancer and never let it define her, Tay-bandz is dedicated to funding research specifically for pediatric cancer. I can't think of a better reason to donate -- because we can make a difference and hopefully with enough support some day we can realize Taylor's dream - that no child will face cancer!
I have been honored to be involved with this charity for over a decade. Since a shockingly small propotion of government funding goes to pediatric cancer research, private funding (such as this amazing one) is crucial in aiding in the efforts to terminating childhood cancers. This year I have been involved in 2 of the Taybandz organizations that spreads awareness and raises funds for this important cause. The money goes directly to research either at the Columbia Medical Center research center or specific clinical trials that the Taybandz board feels will benefit the most children. I know that this foundations has saved dozens of pediatric patients lives already! I look forward to being a member of Taybandz for my entire life.
Thank you our donors who continue to support us to save the lives of children with cancer by funding innovative cutting edge research that reaches children today.. because today is the only day a child has!
This charity started by a heroic young 11 year old fighting cancer, and perpetuated by her mother, does more with less than any charity I've ever seen. With almost no administrative expense and only the fundraising efforts of a few friends and family, tay-bandz has literally saved the lives of children in real time with real funding of real treatments. Many charities speak about curing cancer and saving lives but they mean it in a grand "some day" sort of way that is diffused and generally involves a substantial spend on administrative expense. tay-bandz spends all of their funds on research treatments that save lives one at a time and "today", not sometime in the future when the current patients have lost their battle.
Taylor and her self-starting charity were inspirational in their message and their simplicity. She made a difference as one person trying to make a difference and had an impact one kid at a time.
We have been working with tay-bandz since we were little kids.. It is am amazing organization founded by our cousin Taylor. In memory of her we work with tay-bandz to help save the lives of children with cancer.
Today, tay-bandz continues to save children's lives in one major way by contributing to pay for the sick children's DNA sequencing at Columbia Presbyterian Children's Hospital.
tay-bandz had been run by volunteers with minimal expenses.
tay-bandz is truly the greatest non for profit, all for SAVING LIVES, organization.
Keep on Saving Lives by supporting tay-bandz, so that 'one day no child will ever have to face cancer' (Taylor Matthews- age 11)
tay-bandz, inc is the greatest nonprofit organization because it has saved, and continues to save children's lives.
'Someday no child will ever have to face cancer' - Taylor Matthews (age 11)
Unlike many charitable organizations, when you support Tay-bandz, nearly 100% of your money goes directly to actually saving childrens' lives. This wonderful, worthwhile nonprofit empowers people to make a difference, and help achieve it's founder's goal to eradicate pediatric cancer.
Tay-Bandz is Conquering Kidz Cancer!
Almost 100% of every dollar raised is invested in Precision Medicine for pediatric cancer patients. Their efforts deliver customized treatments that target the precise characteristics of the child’s cancer and increase odds of destroying it.
I give my time to Tay-Bandz/ Conquering Kidz Cancer so children with cancer are not robbed of their lives.
Tay-bandz is about kids curing cancer. Besides being committed to making childhood cancer a thing of the past, they are committed to creating opportunities for children and young adults to have an impact. Armed with the knowledge that each pediatric cancer diagnosis ripples beyond the family, into the playground and the community, Tay-bandz has articulated a path which makes philanthropy readily accessible, even to the young. Much time is spent partnering with the young on creating and organizing events of all sizes; opportunities for people of all ages to be heard and to learn; to learn about themselves and the pleasure of working to bring about change.
tay-bandz is raising awareness and funding cutting edge research at Columbia University where each child's individual germ line is sequenced to identify DNA mutations. They are saving one life, one family at a time! It is a fabulous organization to work for.
Years ago, a mother's greatest concern was getting an extra chaperone for sixth grade camp because her daughter sleep walked and she was worried she might wander at night. That child, Taylor, never made it to sixth grade camp. Instead, she and her family started their battle with Taylor's cancer. Unfortunately for all who had the privilege of knowing Taylor, she passed away about five years later. Taylor wasted no time during those five years. From her hospital bed she began fund raising to help raise money to research cures for pediatric cancers. Her family, especially her mother, have continued those efforts in the hope of helping other families avoid their tragedy. Taylor's mom and the rest of her family and board members give so much. This is a wonderful charity which finacially helps to fill the gap left by the government to help find innovative and effective cures for pediatric cancers.
Tay-Bandz was started by my friend Taylor when we were so young that we did not honestly know what cancer meant. When I think of Taylor all I can remember is the everyday kid things we used to do. The truth is, Taylor was far from an everyday kid. Taylor was an extraordinary kid who had a dream and never quit. Being a part of Tay-Bandz allows me to keep living Taylor's dream and fighting for her cause. Year over year Tay-Bandz continues to out due itself with new ideas to raise money for pediatric cancer research and reach new audiences. The foundation has supporters who are as young as Taylor was when she was diagnosed and and people who have many more years of experience with the disease and the will to fight against it. Tay-Bandz will be a part of my life for many years to come and I look forward to fighting for Taylor's dream "one day, no child will have to live with cancer."
Tay-Bandz was founded by my best friend Taylor Matthews. Her greatest wish was that one day, no child would have to live with cancer. When Taylor created the foundation i thought it was great. On the day that Taylor died, i knew one of many ways to keep her dreams alive would be through Tay-Bandz. Since Tay-Bandz was created i have been a part of many different events and fundraisers. Pediatric cancer is a disease which not only effects the person who is diagnosed with it but if effects everyone around them. My friend taylor made it effect everyone in the most positive way cancer could effect a person. This organization continues to come up with innovative ideas for events and ways to spread the word throughout the united states about pediatric cancer so that it receives the attention in the medical world it so desperately needs. This organization is unlike any other nonprofit i have worked with. It takes the power of kids helping kids to an entirely new level. One day, i hope this foundation can help make Taylor's dream come true.
Tay-bandz Inc is an amazing charity started by Taylor Matthews and her wonderful family. Tay-bandz is dedicated to raising funds for pediatric cancer research and has made a difference in raising awareness of the lack of government funding for pediatric cancer research. The funds they have raised have helped in funding critical research.
