I’ve been a donor for Tangible Hope for sometime. I have seen incredible things happens to the young girls that were impoverished and are now thriving as young women in their communities. This is possible through nutrition, education and medical treatments. Tangible Hope is an incredible success story. Tangible Hope is a nonprofit that has empowered young girls in Ethiopia through education, medical treatment and nutrition. It’s amazing to see the transformation of the young girls that are now thriving in their communities, and continuing their education. We now can see the model works and the result is some of the young girls that are now young women have graduated from college, have to gone into medical school and have become a nurse, and others have gone into leadership roles in the community. As a Board Member I have witnessed their transformation and the success of this organization. Tangible Hope is now branching out to other communities. The Founder has a great vision for this model to reach other communities and as we empower more young women this can make positive differences in communities globally.

I met Lily Yoseph at the REX foundation as she was given a grant and was chosen as a speaker. I really was compelled to help her when ever needed as I felt compelled by her commitment, honesty, caring, and managing to do so much with so little. SHE WAS DETERMINED. She puts at least 140 girls through school supports them with their school clothes, the needs that they have, plus oil and rice for their family so that they will let them continue with school and have food on the table. She really is knowing what these girls need because she grew up there.She gives herself and got some architects to design a safe space for after school. She never disappoints and I really have admired, loved, and respected her for a while now. She is very frugal and does not spend carelessly. She has been a great guest on my radio show, a good friend, and air really find her an amazing being.
So now she has written a book, The Road to Tangible Hope about her life. After reading the book I am totally amazed at what she's gone through and how she handled Life, and how she became such an amazing person. I really respect and like her even more which I didn't think it would be possible.

I first met Tangible Hope’s founder Lily shortly after she returned from her ancestral Ethiopian village and was moved to build the foundation. Her story – now their story – and vision is based on her knowledge as a young girl growing up there, and then as a student and young adult in Europe, and finally as an adult in the U.S. Tangible Hope is not just a school, it is a place where young girls and women receive education as well as a health care and lifestyle support. The whole-life approach provides the girls with more skills to flourish when they graduate and make their own decisions – whether they choose to remain in their village or pursue a higher education elsewhere. This model directly benefits the girls’ families and community as well, making it a compelling “pilot” for scalable education in rural communities.

Our family has supported Lily Yoseph and Tangible Hope for many years. Each year we have received a letter and a video update from Bontu and as a family we have deep gratitude for all that Lily and Tangible Hope are doing to give her a foundation for a successful and happy future. Tangible Hope is streamline, with very little overhead. They are communicative and trustworthy, and offer a pathway for our family to witness the direct impact our funds have on the life of a young girl and her family.

I worked closely with the founder for a short period of time and was blown away by the level of support she is able to generate. Her passion for the THF mission is above and beyond what any nonprofit should strive to be.

Passion isn't everything and the only reason this is not a 5 star review is no fault of the founder but I believe it is a flaw in the system. There is no doubt pulling support from multiple areas is beneficial however this has put unnecessary strain and complexity to manage an already difficult mission.

What she needs is a large gift from a billionaire in the Bay Area that will allow the organization to build out it's unrestricted and restricted budget's equally.

This organization is the brainchild of Lily Yoseph, an Ethiopian woman who saw a huge need for girls in Ethiopia to be educated. Tangible Hope provides schooling, health, safety and family support for girls who enter the program as youngsters and have the opportunity to become accomplished young women. It is such a beautiful program and every penny raised goes straight to the girls.

I have volunteered for Tangible Hope at numerous times over the past four years and have seen the organization and the girls it serves grow and flourish. So much of the donations toward Tangible Hope go directly toward the girls, and you can see in the photos alone how much healthier and more confident the girls have become. Lily is a beautiful woman with so much passion and love for her girls. As a volunteer & donor, my family has directly seen her girls become strong, independent young women as a result of Tangible Hope Foundation. THF gives the girls not only education and a safe place to play, but also provides health and nutritional services. We've seen the girls nutrition improve, smiles on their faces, books in their hands, clean, new clothes. Lily sent me a text where the girls sang a song to my family. The girls need THF; the girls need Lily. THF is empowering these young girls, breaking the cycle of malnutrition, poverty, and gender bias. I have the tremmendous honor and pleasure to support and work with Lily, Janet and Tangible Hope. They are office mates, as well. From the beginning of her life in Ethiopia, she has been committed to helping the girls in her community rise. With amazing determination, the project has grown to support more and more girls go through the education system. Tangible Hope also inspired us to help design a Health Clinic the we, www.PartnershipsForChange.org, are doing in Liberia. This came from Lily's architectural concept for a circular community center that she is form and building in this community. Tangible Hope also has been recognized for its excellence as an organization in the Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area. It provides Tangible Hope for us all.

THF is a small, grassroots organization where every donation dollar actually goes toward the work that is done. Office space is donated and none of the board members or dedicated THF staff are paid.
