Tangible Hope is truly a great organization focused on empowering young girls and young women in Ethiopia through education, nutrition and medical treatment. It’s great to be part of this knowing that they are helping young women to build better lives and improve their communities.
Tangible Hope is a great and impactful organization that helps to empower girls and young women in Ethiopia by providing education, nutrition and medical treatment. It is great to see how the young girls that were once impoverished are now thriving and bettering their lives and their communities. Some of the young women have furthered their education and have completed college to be a teacher, or further their studies to pursue a career in the medical field. They have become leaders and role models for future generations of young women to have a choice and a voice in their lives and to better their communities.
This is a wonderful foundation that shows its work in a very "tangible way". More and more people are supported in the community through their good works. A new preschool just built to help the children learn and not beg on the streets. The girls are safe and getting increased self-esteem. They will go far! If you want to support women becoming smarter and more self-sufficient and help families and children, this is the place to donate!

I met Lily Yoseph at the REX foundation as she was given a grant and was chosen as a speaker. I really was compelled to help her when ever needed as I felt compelled by her commitment, honesty, caring, and managing to do so much with so little. SHE WAS DETERMINED. She puts at least 140 girls through school supports them with their school clothes, the needs that they have, plus oil and rice for their family so that they will let them continue with school and have food on the table. She really is knowing what these girls need because she grew up there. She gives herself and got some architects to design a safe space for after school. She never disappoints and I really have admired, loved, and respected her for a while now. She is very frugal and does not spend carelessly. She has been a great guest on my radio show, a good friend, and air really find her an amazing being.
So now she has written a book, The Road to Tangible Hope about her life. After reading the book I am totally amazed at what she's gone through and how she handled Life, and how she became such an amazing person. I really respect and like her even more which I didn't think it would be possible.

I was fortunate to visit Ethiopia and meet the two girls I sponsor. Tangible Hope takes one girl from each family. These girls are fortunate to be chosen and receive medical attention, uniforms, school supplies and grain, cooking oil and hygiene products for her family. The model inspires the parents to make sure their daughter makes it to class in order to continue to receive these items. These chosen girls look healthy and stand out as beacon of hope and pride in their community. Tangible Hope is shining a spotlight on the value of educating girls.

Tangible Hope’s model for uplifting impoverished girls in their communities is brilliant. Providing the poorest of the poor with necessary school supplies, medical care to rid them of parasites and other illnesses, providing them and their families with nutrition and sanitary supplies is changing the value of educating girls. This model incentivizes the families - namely the fathers to ensure that these girls reach school and home safely. The model is an example of applied practical care that is evident - tangible! These girls stand out as beacons of health and hope in their communities.
I am truly honored to volunteer with this incredible nonprofit organization that is making a profound impact on the lives of girls in Ethiopia. This organization's dedication to empowering and uplifting young girls is truly inspiring. From providing access to education to promoting health and well-being, they are creating a brighter future for these girls. Their commitment to bringing positive changes is commendable. Tangible Hope proves that lasting change can be achieved by empowering one girl at a time. I've witnessed girl's lives changed from a destiny of no education and early marriage to fulfilling their dreams of secondary education and the careers of their choice. As well, their families and by extension their villages are being educated and enlightened about the positive effects of supporting girls, enriching their communities in so many ways. This is how you break cycles and build a more tangibly hopeful future!
I've been working and supporting Tangible Hope since its inception. I have been on the board of directors and several advisory boards. I have been amazed at how much they accomplish in the villages of Ethiopia, getting the most value for every donated dollar. They remain a remarkable organization while they grow and consistently make a significant impact on the lives of countless young girls. I've had the fortune of working with Lily to develop the idea of Tangible Hope since its inception well over a decade ago. As a builder, I know the importance of a strong foundation upon which a solid structure can be built. This is Tangible Hope. I have not found another organization that has been able to fund its programs with nearly 100% of every donated dollar going to the mission and the young women who are being benefited.
Although I have yet to visit Ethiopia, the photography and videos make real the experiences and daily lives of our students and their families. It's a joy to look back through photos from the early entry of these young women into our program and to their recent graduation into careers that will benefit themselves, their families, and the greater community.

Telile Yoseph, founder of Tangible Hope Foundation, has dedicated her life to housing and educating disadvantaged young women in her native Ethiopia. She is one of the mast admirable people I have ever met and I feel that it is an honor to be able to help support these young women.
Tangible Hope continues to do such great work in Ethiopia. They have grown their impact tremendously over the years, serving more girls than ever, over more regions, including building a center where the girls receive an education. This organization supports the whole family, understanding the connection between food access, nutrition, hygiene, and education.
I have been a supporter of the Tangible Hope Foundation for over a decade. I have been particularly impressed with the hands on follow through of the founders and administrators. It is uniquely gratifying to see the how the young women and their families are benefitting from the continued educational and financial support provided by Tangible hope. I am confident that my donations are having the most substantial impact possible when I receive updates on the individuals I have sponsored and the facilities I've helped to fund. My hope is that you will read this and give yourself the gift of love by providing Tangible Hope the funding necessary to continue providing a place of education and belonging to these young women.

Tangible Hope is an incredible foundation that has been brings positive change and empowerment to young women in Ethiopia. Over the years, I have had the privilege of seeing so much growth in the foundation. I have witnessed the fruits of this foundation and the many lives of young girls that have been positively impacted by the wonderful work this foundation is doing.
Tangible hope is doing amazing work in helping disadvantaged woman in rural Ethiopia. It feeds , clothes and educates young women who otherwise will never have the opportunity. It is helping the young women and the generation to follow.
Tangible Hope Foundation is breaking the cycle of poverty and illiteracy for young girls in Ethiopia! They are given nutrition, basic health care, tutoring and mentoring. The 140 girls now in the program are thriving! A unique aspect of the program is that the girls remain in the community with their families who through direct contact with what health and education can bring are changing their attitudes about the value of girls. Age old cultural gender discrimination is folding under the influence of Tangible Hope.

Tangible Hope Foundation has been chosen as the most effective NGO in the region by the
Ethiopian government. Currently, 140 young girls are receiving nutrition, school uniforms, school supplies, basic health care and after school tutoring. An important aspect of Tangible Hope's model is that the girls remain at home in their mud huts with their families. As these formerly hungry, sick and sad little girls are transformed into healthy, happy bright and literate young ladies, the whole village sees them in a new light. They become valuable members of the community and the education of girls becomes the new norm. The whole culture for girls is changing for the better!
Tangible Hope Foundation has a grassroots presence including in a very poor communities which makes its work very valuable.

Besides assisting the girls, it also help families and communities to appreciate the value of girls and to help them in pursuing education. A girl without hope is very vulnerable to abuse and violence, and as such, the Foundation is helping girls to be protected from these abuses and violence by advocating and helping their pursue of education.
I have worked with many non-profits and in fact ran my own for 12 years. What I have found to be true across the board is that the success of any organization (as in the for profit world), comes from the top. Lily is the real deal. Her whole heart and soul is dedicated to giving these girls the support they need to truly thrive. She is creating a community of the next generation of young Ethiopian women, who will grow up knowing that they have value, they have possibilities, they have each other and they have women like Lily who believe in them.
Lily has that magic combination of tenacity and humility. She has surrounded herself with a great team and is always exploring ways to expand that team and keep Tangible Hope going and growing. Her programs don't only help her girls - they help educate families and communities, planting the seeds for a better future for everyone.
If you want to make a 'tangible' difference , Tangible Hope is your place.

I have visited the village where the girls live and have been able to see the tremendous benefits that Tangible Hope has made in the lives of these young girls and their families. The girls are getting an education that they otherwise would not receive, if not for Tangible Hope. With that education the girls are in a better position to help their own families and community to lift themselves from extreme poverty. It was a very moving experience to visit Ethiopia and hear the stories of how Tangible Hope has transformed their lives.
I first met Tangible Hope’s founder Lily shortly after she returned from her ancestral Ethiopian village and was moved to build the foundation. Her story – now their story – and vision is based on her knowledge as a young girl growing up there, and then as a student and young adult in Europe, and finally as an adult in the U.S. Tangible Hope is not just a school, it is a place where young girls and women receive education as well as a health care and lifestyle support. The whole-life approach provides the girls with more skills to flourish when they graduate and make their own decisions – whether they choose to remain in their village or pursue a higher education elsewhere. This model directly benefits the girls’ families and community as well, making it a compelling “pilot” for scalable education in rural communities.
Not only does the Tangible Hope Foundation provide their girls with the resources to go to school, they also provide them with nutritional and health care services. What an amazing organization to be a part of!
I’ve seen first hand the great work that the Tangible Hope Foundation does! If anyone is looking to partner with a nonprofit, I highly recommend Tangible Hope!
As a concerned citizen with experience working at numerous non-profits and NGOs, I can say confidently that Tangible Hope is one of the most worthy and incredible non-profits I have come across. The founder, Lily Yoseph, has the biggest and most sincere heart. She has dedicated her life to serving and elevating the lives of the young girls in Ethiopia, and she works tirelessly to ensure they are supported, educated, and fed. I am honored and grateful to know Lily and to support Tangible Hope. The work that the organization does is truly making a difference, pushing progress towards gender equality around the world.
Investing in girls transform communities, countries and the entire world. Girls who receive an education are less likely to marry young and more likely to lead healthy, productive lives and build better futures for themselves and their families. Tangible hope is a community based organization that empowers young girls from poorest families in rural Ethiopia by improving access to education, healthcare and nutrition. It provides support to the girls through covering of their expenses for school, covering their medical expenses, providing nutritional supplies to their families to ensure that the girls stay in the program. To strengthen the program of tangible hope in Kofale, Oromia region, it has constructed a center for the girls to provide tangible hope programs in a safe environment. The organization used the experiences and lessons learned from its program implementation in Kofale to expand to other areas like Aleta Wondo and Bishoftu to contribute to the growing need of empowering girls in rural Ethiopia. During the difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic where schools are closed and families are struggling from the impact of the pandemic, tangible hope has continued to sustain its effort in supporting the girls that could help the girls stay positive and return to education as schools are planned to open. Finally, I would like to say congratulations and keep up the great job you are doing!
I have been donating to Tangible Hope for years. Lily is an amazing woman and truly cares about gathering all of us together to help change the lives of young girls in Ethiopia. Which we all know at this point changes the lives of their families which changes their communities. Never have I seen "it takes a village" work so well. I love receiving pictures of the girls we are helping to support and hearing about their progress. Tangible Hope truly makes a huge difference in this community and beyond. The girls we help - their lives and loved ones lives are forever changed. It is hard to imagine just how much! I consider it an honor to be able to help this great organization.
Our family has supported Lily Yoseph and Tangible Hope for many years. We have experienced the satisfaction of watching a young girl named Bontu grow and thrive with the health and education that Tangible Hope provides. Each year we have received a letter and a video update from Bontu and as a family we have deep gratitude for all that Lily and Tangible Hope are doing to give her a foundation for a successful and happy future. Tangible Hope is streamline, with very little overhead. They are communicative and trustworthy, and offer a pathway for our family to witness the direct impact our funds have on the life of a young girl and her family.
I worked closely with the founder for a short period of time and was blown away by the level of support she is able to generate. Her passion for the THF mission is above and beyond what any nonprofit should strive to be.
Passion isn't everything and the only reason this is not a 5 star review is no fault of the founder but I believe it is a flaw in the system. There is no doubt pulling support from multiple areas is beneficial however this has put unnecessary strain and complexity to manage an already difficult mission.
What she needs is a large gift from a billionaire in the Bay Area that will allow the organization to build out it's unrestricted and restricted budget's equally.
This organization is the brainchild of Lily Yoseph, an Ethiopian woman who saw a huge need for girls in Ethiopia to be educated. Tangible Hope provides schooling, health, safety and family support for girls who enter the program as youngsters and have the opportunity to become accomplished young women. It is such a beautiful program and every penny raised goes straight to the girls.

Tangible Hope is a remarkable organization that brings so much to girls in Ethiopia. What I love best is that they educate girls through the 12th grade, while they also provide support for their families in the form of health care and nutrition, and they also teach the girls about standing up for themselves against sexual harassment and teach them self defense against violence.
Tangible Hope uses almost every penny on programming and very little on administration and fundraising so when you donate you can be sure the girls in Ethiopia are benefitting.
this organization is the real deal!
Hi my name is Linda Ayers I have been a friend of Lily’s for over 20 years. She has wanted to make a difference in her life ever since I’ve known her, and when she went back to Ethiopia for the first time after so many years she found her vision. I am so proud of Lily and all she is doing, she is an amazing women and she has always given her “Service Above Self”. God bless her in this miraculous journey and all those that have been supporting her in this great opportunity! Thank You, Linda
I’ve had the wonderful experience of working with Lily and supporting Tangible Hope for many years. I’ve provided support because of Lily’s commitment and the incredible impact Tangible Hope is having in the communities they serve. The way they are changing the lives of the girls, their families and the communities is an amazing.
Lily's passion for changing the lives of these girls -- and the family and community that surrounds them -- is absolutely contagious!! When I started funding Hopi, the young girl she paired me with, I had no idea how utterly moving it would be to hear of her progress later that year and know that I had made such a TANGIBLE difference. There is a thread that goes from my life all the way around the world to Hopi's. Knowing that the funds I have generated here in my very different culture are the reason she can go to school is a miracle in action.
I have volunteered for Tangible Hope at numerous times over the past four years and have seen the organization and the girls it serves grow and flourish. So much of the donations toward Tangible Hope go directly toward the girls, and you can see in the photos alone how much healthier and more confident the girls have become. The approach that Tangible Hope takes is simple but ingenious in that it gets the girls' families and communities completely on board in supporting the girls in their educational goals. I truly believe that the method that they employ is sustainable, effective, and making huge differences in these girls' lives and communities.
Lily is a beautiful woman with so much passion and love for her girls. As a volunteer & donor, my family has directly seen her girls become strong, independent young women as a result of Tangible Hope Foundation. THF gives the girls not only education and a safe place to play, but also provides health and nutritional services. Since 2014 my family has been a donor and through my personal friendship with Lily, I have seen the pictures of the girls from Kofele. We've seen the girls nutrition improve, smiles on their faces, books in their hands, clean, new clothes. Lily sent me a text where the girls sang a song to my family. The girls need THF; the girls need Lily. THF is empowering these young girls, breaking the cycle of malnutrition, poverty, and gender bias. I feel so fortunate to have met Lily; this Foundation is truly changing lives, I see it first hand.
I have the tremmendous honor and pleasure to support and work with Lily, Janet and Tangible Hope. They are office mates, as well. From the beginning of her life in Ethiopia, she has been committed to helping the girls in her community rise. With amazing determination, the project has grown to support more and more girls go through the education system. Tangible Hope also inspired us to help design a Health Clinic the we, www.PartnershipsForChange.org, are doing in Liberia. This came from Lily's architectural concept for a circular community center that she is form and building in this community. Tangible Hope also has been recognized for its excellence as an organization in the Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area. It provides Tangible Hope for us all.
I have worked with Tangible Hope for approximately 5 years now. I can honestly say that I've never met a more selfless and dedicated team. THF is a small, grassroots organization where every donation dollar actually goes toward the work that is done. Office space is donated and none of the board members or dedicated THF staff are paid. IT IS ALL VOLUNTEERS!
Tangible Hope has a huge impact on the lives of the young girls they support. Through THF they have the opportunity to go to school (not usually an option for girls), receive healthcare and after-school school tutoring. Tangible Hope gives them a chance to THRIVE and make a better future for themselves.
These young girls achieve a better quality of life, with options for their future that were not possible before. With this they are inspiring change in their region and are also inspired to give back to their communities to help provide the same opportunities to others.
I met Lily through my employer who has been a supporter of TH from the beginning. The passion and drive Lily brings to this amazing foundation is incredible. Seeing the girls transform on the outside and knowing they are being transformed on the inside as well is absolutely inspiring. Feeling confident in knowing that 100% of donations go directly to the girls makes TH a non-profit organization thatI really believe in. - Julie Van Hook
A phenomenal organization that brings attention to young girls in Ethiopia who, once given the opportunity, thrive and grow into exceptional young women. The excellent leadership and truly passionate volunteers have made Tangible Hope an inspirational group that continues to impress with its tireless efforts. Their model, which includes supporting the family of the girls in the program, has proven itself with the success of these amazing young women.
Tangible Hope is a very worthwhile organization that is delivering on its promise to help impoverished girls in Ethiopia by providing them with healthcare, after-school tutoring in safe settings and other services to help them succeed in school. I have known Lily Yosef for three years and visited Ethiopia in 2016 so I know how important Tangible Hope's work is over there.
I had the opportunity to visit the village where the young girls are from who are fortunate enough to benefit from the generous donations to the Tangible Hope Foundation. It was a remarkable experience. For such a small, grassroots organization, Tangible Hope has a huge impact on the lives of the young girls they support. They now have the opportunity to go to school, receive healthcare and after school school tutoring. Tangible Hope gives them a chance to just be children and to thrive in an environment where girls are not valued as much as boys.
These young girls now have a better quality of life with the goal being that they will give back to their families and communities in the future.
I interned with Lily, the founder of Tangible Hope, for a few months and have nothing but great things to say about her and the work she does. Lily is dedicated and passionate and puts everything into helping build better lives for the girls in Ethiopia. Tangible Hope is doing such amazing work in utterly transforming the lives of girls who would otherwise not have access to education, not have enough food, and suffer from bad health. This organization deserves a huge amount of support because with someone as dedicated as Lily leading it, it has the potential to make a huge positive impact on girls in developing countries.
