Mission: Our mission is to provide holistic, client-centered, family-focused opportunities for positive change and personal accountability through evidence-based treatment, housing, and supportive services.

Programs: Vocational rehabilitation center: the vre program assists persons with disabilities who are seeking employment to choose, obtain, maintain and retain meaningful, integrated and competitive employment opportunities in the community. We believe that meaningful employment is an important aspect of a successful life. We also believe that everyone should strive towards permanent employment that matches their skills, job readiness and, most importantly, their preference.

the veterans assistance center was created to identify and assist the homeless veterans of hillsborough county and their families. The va estimates that on any given night, there are approximately 107,000 homeless veterans in this country. There were 900 homeless veterans in the 2011 census for hillsborough county. The va states that the unemployment rate for recently discharged veterans is nearly three times the national average and female veterans are now two to four times more likely to become homeless than their civilian counterparts. Over the past four years, tampa crossroads has assessed and provided services to over 800 homeless and at risk veterans and their families through two federally-supported programs. Partnership with the homeless coalition of hillsborough county identifies veterans from iraq and afghanistan to provide short-term financial assistance related to housing (security and utility deposits, rent payments, utility payments and moving costs). The supportive services program (ssvf) is designed to promote housing stability to low-income veteran families and to prevent at-risk families from becoming homeless. Our agency provides all direct service delivery in partnership with the homeless coalition of hillsborough county. Direct services include case management, employment support, va and public benefits assistance, housing counseling and search assistance, legal assistance (in housing stability issues). Short-term direct financial assistance includes rental and utility payments, security and utility deposits, moving costs, emergency supplies, child care and transportation.

pearl is a unique 12-month, community-based program for men who live with severe and persistent mental health or co-occurring disorders. The pearl program provides 24-hour residential supervision, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and structured educational programs and activities designed to provide our clients an opportunity for rehabilitation and socialization. Nutritious meals have been designed by a licensed dietician and are prepared by the clients under the guidance of a kitchen manager. Our primary goal is to prepare our clients for a successful transition into independent living within the community.

nonresidential program: providing the best possible treatment at an affordable cost, fees are determined on a sliding-scale based on income. The following services are available: substance abuse/mental health assessments and treatment, anger management counseling, drug and alcohol screening services, smart recovery groups, dui treatment, jade programs, and veterans counseling. Group and individual counseling is available. Athena: the athena house is a 16-bed transitional housing program exclusively for female veterans that provides safe housing and treatment services for female veterans who are homeless after discharge from the armed forces. The athena program is the only transitional housing program within the state of florida specifically designed to address the unique needs of homeless female veterans. Our 30 years of treatment experience working with homeless females with similar histories has shown us that temporary housing within mixed gender emergency housing is not optimal and has often resulted in further abuse, trauma, violence and worsening of their substance abuse and mental illness. The athena participants enjoy safe housing for up to 24 months within the fully renovated athena house. During their residency, these females veterans will participate in group and individual counseling sessions and learn life skills they will need to support permanent, independent living. Rose manor: rose manor is the only affordable, licensed and accredited treatment provider exclusively for women in hillsborough county. Rose manor has been offering holistic health services to women for over 25 years in our historic, 102-year old tampa heights home. Designated as a local landmark in 2003, rose manor has been home to over 1,000 women who have found inner peace and a healthy life balance while residing in rose manor's tranquil setting. Because it serves only women, rose manor can also provide a safe environment where one can focus all her energy and efforts on restoring balance to her life. Meals are designed by a licensed dietician, prepared by the residents, and served family style in our large dining room, cooking and other household chores are shared by the residents while weekend cook-outs and barbeques are encouraged. This is a phased program and success depends upon how hard one works. We are also a classic therapeutic community so many of the activities and dynamics of the program are driven by those who are residing here. We do not put labels on past behavior but instead focus on the good life balance that awaits when one is able to recognize the power held within.
