Mission: Headquartered in downtown tampa, tampa bay wave (wave) is a "by entrepreneur, for entrepreneur" 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in june 2008 with a mission to "help entrepreneurs turn ideas into thriving tech ventures in tampa bay. " through its various programs and services, wave currently supports over 120 local tech entrepreneurs who are building the technology-based companies that will be the foundation for economic growth in the tampa bay region. Based on its "50 & 5 in 5" vision statement, tampa bay wave has a goal to work with over 200 local tech startups over the next five (5) years, helping at least 50 of these startups find early stage capital (of at least $100,000) and helping at least five (5) of those companies get on the path to break-out success. This vision statement has become the foundation of tampa bay wave's own build-launch-grow framework that is used to drive all programs and services.

Programs: Tampa bay wave opened the firstwave venture center in downtown tampa. Billed as the region's "front door" or center of gravity for the tech community, the venture center is an open innovation space designed to connect local entrepreneurs with many of the resources they need to build, launch and grow great tech-based companies here in tampa bay. The venture center provides educational and networking events, expert advice via scheduled office hours, as well as flexible coworking options (including some with affordable, dedicated office space). Already boasting roughly 1,000 unique visits each month in terms of coworkers and event attendees, the venture center is also the region's largest concentration of tech startups with thirty (30) early stage tech companies currently calling the firstwave venture center 'home. '

for local tech entrepreneurs that want even more help, tampa bay wave offers its firstwave accelerator program which provides entrepreneurs and innovators with facilitated access to the mentors, talent, education, expertise, capital and other resources they need. Today, tampa bay wave is supporting 27 early stage tech companies across the build, launch and grow stages with the firstwave accelerator.

the roundtable peer group is the foundation of tampa bay wave. Roundtable members meet on a monthly basis in order to establish a network of peers they can tap into and share resources with as they build, launch and grow their companies. All members are vetted to ensure they meet the criteria of being a founder or co-founder of a local tech company - meaning they must have some kind of proprietary technology at the core of their business. Today, tampa bay wave's roundtable members represent roughly 120 local tech companies across the build, launch and grow stages
