I have fostered (cats, kittens, mamas and babies...) for Tailchaser at several occasion and was always impressed with how involved and dedicated everyone involved has been. From rescuing to taking care of kitties in precarious situations until they found a good foster home, it is obvious that rescuing is their passion; even their life for many... They were always very professional and made sure the well-being of each animal under their responsibility was assured. I always have felt heard and supported too in case of unforeseen events or emergencies. A 5-star rescue for sure!
Great organization that helps cats and dogs in need! Jori and the group of fosters helped multiple kittens that I rescued from high kill animal shelters and from the streets where they did not have any chance to survive. Rescued by Tailchaser cats and dogs are only live in home environments with fosters - this helps to understand pets personalities and find best homes for them. There is an application process in place which is straightforward and helps to find good matching families for rescued pets. I appreciate that all pets are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before they join their forever homes. Thank you, Jori, and all your wonderful volunteers - you all are doing amazing job that makes a difference!
Tailchaser Rescue is an amazing organization I was referred to when trying to figure out how I could help save animals from euthanasia in crowded kill-shelters. I have volunteered with them over the past several years and am super impressed with how well-lead the volunteer group is.
Not only has Tailchaser been a great group to work with, they have also been instrumental to providing support to community members who have found themselves overrun with kittens because they did not realize how important it is to spay/neuter animals in your care. They stepped in to help arrange no-cost spaying for several young female cats in our neighborhood and helped me find the most recent litter amazing homes.
I have volunteered with Tailchaser for years and foster for them; the support from Jori and the team has been amazing. Tailchaser go above and beyond to do the very best for the animals that they save. Additionally, TCR pull vulnerable animals from high kill shelters, getting them to safety and into highly competent, warm foster homes urgently. TCR then work with the foster home on healthcare and training for the animal, getting them ready for adoption. For a small organization, TCR rescue a lot of animals in a year including many mothers with newborns.
The moment we saw the playful kitten picture of Squirrel on Craigslist, we knew he was the perfect match for us. He was rescued from animal control in Tracy, CA just days before being euthanized. Little did we realize that through Squirrel, Tailchaser Rescue would be a part of our lives for years to come.
Several months later, Tailchaser Rescue made us aware of Niveah who needed a lot of medical attention. As a kitten, several young boys separated her from her mother, and kicked her balled up little body for “fun”. A younger girl stood up to the boys, picked up Niveah’s little broken, bludgeoned body, and turned to Tailchaser Rescue for help. Uncertain if Niveah could survive the injury, the girl nursed Niveah back to health. Niveah (aka Little Girl) now enjoys working at my home office and greets everyone who visits our home.
Despite their rocky start in life, Squirrel and Little Girl were well adjusted and well behaved thanks to their foster families. We now foster. Squirrel and Little Girl get a lot of credit for teaching the kittens how to “cat”: how to play, emulate good behavior, and do a few cat tricks.
